Significant delays in renovation and construction of a new bathroom in residential building, un- craftsmanlike work quality, unfinished portions of project, and materials contractor failed to deliver as per contract. In good faith at contractor's request for monies(claiming he misquoted the project), contractor was advanced (either directly or indirectly for included materials) more than $15,735.97 on a $13,000 contract. Moreover, I have spent an additional $8,937.52 for materials and labor to correct flaws and poor workmanship performed by Built By Brock. I would NOT recommend using Built By Brock.

We hired Reunited on the bounce, having just fired our first contractor, who became totally unresponsive after he received his deposit. So it was a huge relief to find Artie, the owner of Reunited, was not only responsive but proactive in reaching out to us throughout the process. The foreman on the job, Carlo, was highly skilled and generous in offering solutions to issues that arose during the reno, and the crew was unfailingly polite and respectful of our property. When a pipe burst in our basement ceiling, an event unrelated to their work, the crew stopped what they were doing to find the leak and repair the damage. On the overall project, Reunited delivered quality work on budget and on time. Reunited's price was in the middle of the range, but the value and the product were first-rate. When we checked his references, one of his customers referred to Artie as "a true gentleman." We second that emotion, and recommend Reunited without reservation.

Let me start off by saying Mike (he IS Independent Island Contracting) is definitely a superb contractor in terms of his knowledge. He did great work on a friend's house and that is how I found him. He seems to know every little nuance about contracting and building. When you first meet him he comes across as impressive. He was properly licensed and insured. That's the good part. If he was my next door neighbor he'd probably be the first person I'd ask for advice about anything contracting or home building related. So where do I begin about my experience? It's been over a year so I'll try to remember the details as best I can. I got in touch with Mike in the late fall. We met, he wrote up a contract describing everything I wanted done (this was to be a kitchen renovation plus a few other odds and ends in a co-op I had purchased the year prior) and I agreed to give him a 10% deposit and we set a tentative starting date. He calls me shortly before the starting date and says he's busy with other jobs and wants to make sure he'll be able to devote his full time to my project. I say I understand and we schedule another date. Then he does the same thing again. Anyway by the time we start it's a few weeks later. He was good about calling me in advance - he didn't just not show up - he let me know but still it was annoying. I did consider firing him before we even started. But I remembered how good the work at my friend's house that he did turned out, so I was patient. At first things started out great. I had already purchased the new cabinets, counters, dishwasher, sink and other items needed for the job. The first few days he removed the old cabinets and counters, electrician came and ran the needed wiring for the dishwasher, plumber came and did his thing, all was going well. But then the process dragged on for weeks. And he was always giving me worst case scenarios for everything, something would be a problem, this would be a problem (and in reality he didn't run into anything he hadn't really anticipated). If I remember right he started toward end of October and didn't finish until around the new year. It was ridiculous. Eventually I realized it was because he didn't like using any help - he was doing most of the job himself! Something about him not liking "Mexicans" or other nonsense. He also claimed to know how to cure cancer with some magic medicine! At this point I knew he was a total nut job. His conspiracy theory stories - I don't know where to even begin, so I won't even try. Despite me repeatedly telling him my co-op has noise rules - noisy construction from 8am-6pm only - he was almost always there late, sometimes using power tools outside after the designated hours. I would come home and try to avoid him in the other room to avoid his endless government conspiracy theories, political musings and other extremely wacky nonsense. The only thing that kept me from firing him was he was so far into the job, it would have been more effort to find someone else to finish. He also hadn't messed anything up, so I just bit my tongue and carried on... At one point I was wondering why he hadn't hung up the new microwave on the wall. It took me a while to realize, well, since he didn't want to pay for help, he really couldn't lift that up himself. It's a two person job. I wound up holding it in place while he installed it. When I pay for work, I expect to do none of it myself. And he charges top dollar! Also have to watch the billing for additional items - he lost track a few times of things I already paid. Glad I kept records. At one point toward the end his work van broke down - something with the ignition. Guess who had to drive him to the local mechanic? Eventually...he finished. I left him a check and we were done. I left out other details because I could go on and on about this guy. The kitchen and everything else he did came out mostly fine. I just recently remodeled my bathroom and it only took a week with another contractor. There was no way I was going to call Mike to have him do it. The work ended up fine but it took months for what should have been maybe 1-2 weeks of work and a lot of aggravation and craziness along the way! Avoid.

Hector and his team was amazing to work with. They turned an outdated bathroom and gave it a more modern look. The flooring is absolutelt wonderful and the tiles match the look and feel we were going for. Hector was very accommodating and was always reachable via phone and email. I look forward to working with Hector and his team in the future

We had Alure remodel our kitchen and master bathroom and could not be happier with the results. They were very professional and their communication and follow up were exceptional. They worked with us throughout the entire process on the designs and layouts, and were responsive to any concerns we had. They even cleaned up every day on the job. Their workmanship is second to none and one very important thing you should know, they didn't disappear after the job was completed.

Without hesitation, we would recommend Alure to anyone that is looking to have work done in their home.

We had used Dave and Joe before and were very pleased. This 2nd engagement was also a wonderful experience. They always arrive at times you expect them. And, these guys are finishers, by that I mean they are very detail oriented; they want to make certain that you are fully satisfied with the work that is performed. When you have work done in your home and contractors are going to be there for several days, it's great to work with guys like Dave and Joe as they are great at their trade and are very easy to like. You feel like you've known them for years. If you need any construction work done on your home, I highly recommend calling DNJ.

After many so called professional companies that came to my home & looked at the dammaged tub. I was told by all of them, that this repair could not be done, and in addition, if they did attemp to make repairs, they would not last but a couple of months. I was even told that I should use," Gorilla Tape ", until, I could purchase a new tub. Some, contractors said it wasn't worth their trouble to repair & the cost would be that of a new tub installation. Then, I was out of all my options, & was going to attemp to make the repairs myself. Just in time, I was able to have, Bill, from "Mr. Chips Tub & Tile Repair & Refinishing", gime me a qoute. After emailing him a picture of the dammage he immediately gave a more thatn reasonable price, & guarantee. He explained that it could deffinetely be accomplished. Bill, spent just about the whole day at my house working on the tub. He brought all of his tools, & prepped the bathroom area with alot of , drop cloth, and removed the screen from the bathroom window, to install an exhaust hose fan, so there would be no dust, or dirt left in the area. He had to make many differant types of applications of repair techniques, and then had to use an electric powered grinder for some time. Then after all was sanded down properly, a " UV high intensity light, & dryer ", were also needed for this job. Bill, then reglazed the entire tub, & freshly installed all new tub caulking, which was not included in his job quote. Bill, went beyond all of my expectations, after the whole job was finished. The tub looked like a brand new tub. My, wife & I were extreamly happy & greatful for Bill's hard work, & kind generous manner. He went above & beyond of what was expected. I highly recommend this, gentleman for any repairs on your tub.

Gaspare arrived as promised and did a fantastic job.  It looks awesome.
We had another company come in that wanted to rip out all of the plumbing to replace the faucet.  Gaspare is an expert and knows what he's doing and just how to do it.

Gaspare is very busy, so if you want great work, you are going to have to be patient and wait for availability.  We waited, and it was worth it.

Gaspare does excellent work. He didn't stop at just what we asked for but knowing we were working on a budget he made useful suggestings and in some cases made small repairs and didn't go over the original estimate he gave us. His work is neat and professional and we will hire him again in the future.
