  • Wonderful. Neal came right out to give me a estimate the day after I called him. I contracted them on 7/20 and they we here 8/1 to install it.The install went smoothly. They know what there doing. They cleaned up after themselves and left evertthing spotless. Great company. Small compared to the other I contacted but bigger is not better.

  • The installation was expected to take the better part of the work day.  It started on time at 8:00am with a crew of two.  However, they had to quit for the night around 9:00pm with the job not quite done after claims of numerous parts that failed out of the box.  That did not start us off with a feeling of confidence that we bought a quality system.  A different crew came back the next morning to finish the job.  As part of installing the additional baseboard register, the first crew allowed a hot piece of copper to melt a three quarter inch wide by approximately four inch long path in the carpet.  We've had to have them back at least six times over the heating season, none of the issues major but annoying just the same.  It took two return visits to resolve a minor leak in the oil line connection that was causing a fuel oil smell in the basement.  As part of troubleshooting a rattling noise in one zone, a water leak occurred after they left resulting in a follow up visit to correct and re-bleed the zone.  Twice a technician left saying they would get back to us but follow up never happened.  In each case we had to re-arrange our work schedules to be here during their standard work hours.  They never offered to work around our standard work hours even after the multiple visits.
    On a positive note, their staff was always courteous and professional, and they arrived when they said they would.  In fact, they usually called within the hour of arrival to give a specific arrival time.

    April 2014: I just noticed the Provider Response to my original review.  Just wanted to say that the follow up that they mentioned never happened.  In fact, I went to their booth @ the 2013 Home & Garden Show at the State Fair Grounds to ask a maintenance question, not intending to bring up the past.  However they asked how it went for us and so I told them not so well and followed with some details.  They acted all concerned and said they would talk with the Service Manage and contact me to review the issues.  Again, that follow never happened.  To this day, the zone they added a length of register to has a very annoying rattle that I had them back a couple of times to try to resolve and they were unable to do so  They are correct in that I did not bring up the melted carpet, figured nothing they could do about it at that point.  However, I'd argue that the employee that did the damage should have brought it up, and should have tried to make it right.  They've made multiple commitments to follow up but the follow up never occurred.  I have not experienced their pledge to go the "extra mile".   I stand by my original rating.

  • I called Holbrook a week after moving into my new house.  The A/C had stopped working.  Holbrook made a prompt appt and arrived on time.    They were very upfront with their charges ($85 service charge, $90/hr labor plus parts/supplies).  I thought it a bit steep, but probably just my unfamiliarity with the costs of services.
    The serviceman made a thorough inspection and accurate diagnosis.  He recommended the cheaper of two courses of action (service the coolent versus replace the compressor - which will probably have to be done within the next year).  It fixed the problem and A/C was fixed just in time for a very hot day.
    I would use Holbrook again.
