  • I usually don’t hire contractors to do work around my house but I’m glad I did this time. They removed me old cracked up concrete and installed a new stamped walkway in a very timely manor. The new walkway looks amazing and would HIGHLY recommend you give this company an opportunity.

  • We had Justin and his crew replace a 20 ft by 16 ft irregularly shaped brick patio, concrete steps, a 6 ft by 30 ft concrete breezeway, and 2 concrete sidewalks totaling approximately 150 square feet with stained and stamped decorative concrete. In addition, they installed a drainage system to move rain water off the patio, through the breezeway and into the yard. It was a complex and large job. As part of the job they removed and hauled away the existing concrete steps, concrete breezeway and sidewalks (I had removed the brick patio previously). They dug out where necessary - the new sidewalks were wider than the old ones, some digging around the edge of the patio was required and digging was required for the drainage system. Everything was graded with gravel and formed - and the patio required flexible pvc 1x4 forms because of the irregular shape. Lot's of rebar in the steps and around the edges of the patio and breezeway where they touched the house, and concrete wire for all areas. Hours of planning and work with a survey transit were required to ensure the drainage worked correctly and the concrete came to an appropriate level in each area. So while the price for the project may seem high, there was a lot of effort required.
In addition, we chose to get stamped and stained finish on the concrete. To get the look we wanted Justin worked with us to understand what we were looking for, but he also put his ideas and design expertise into the process. We spend an afternoon driving around Owego with him to see prior jobs that also allowed him to see what type of features we were looking for. He suggested 'wedding cake' style steps which, while we would never have thought about it, are absolutely the right steps for the patio and my wife loves the result. We talked a long time about patterns and color palettes, and we are very pleased with the results. While I'm sure we could have gotten stamped concrete at a lower price, part of what we paid for was Justin's experience in the field and his design expertise. The result was well worth the cost.
Justin and his team were professional and always on-time, the job site was cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day's work. All of the team were willing to answer questions at any point in the process, and they all made sure we knew what was happening and what would happen next.

  • Zurenda Construction did an amazing job on my new concrete patio and steps! They got the job done very quick and in a professional manner. They also did some drainage work for me, before my yard was always wet even if it hadn't rained and now my yard is always dry and now I can enjoy a dry yard and a beautiful new patio to sit on! I plan on hiring them again for more work.

  • RUN, do not walk, away from this contractor for ANYTHING!!!  The garage floor that was put in is unlevel and has cracked. Large pieces have come up from the base layer due to the fact that the base layer was no prepped properly and the top layer has seperated.
The workers looked as though the contractor picked them up on the corner that morning.  They were very slow and smoked outside on the street in front of the house without asking us if it was okay to do so.
The first layer was put down in the garage and it was extremely uneven.  This caused the top, and final layer, to be uneven and have peaks and valleys throughout the floor.
The owner came over to collect the final payment and we asked him if that was the way the floor was supposed to look.  He stated that it was and he thought his crew had done a great job.  Within a month or so of having the new floor, a heavy tool was dropped on the floor.  At the place of impact, a large part of the top layer of the floor seperated from the base layer.  This has happened several times over the last year.
Eventually we will need to have this floor removed and replaced since it is not functional and looks very bad.

  • I had an old 32 year old concrete patio at my summer home and had Starkrete cover it with the stamped decorated concrete.  It was beautiful that first summer.  After the first winter the color had washed away leaving many grey patches.  It took a month of phone calls and emails to get them back out there to redo the color and put a rough top coat on it.  After the second winter more of the same with the addition of a crack. In fairness...the crack was there before and I was told that it might reappear and that we would deal with it at that time.  That's all well and good but the company NEVER returns phone calls or emails including my two in the last month. Therefore, I have given up harrassing and stressing over it and written it off as a very bad investment.  I plan to look at other alternatives or companies.

Buyer beware...this is the most unreliable business I have ever had to deal with. Once the job is done...he is done with you. He does not stand behind his product and hasn't the slightest interest in resolving any issues in a timely manner.

  • Was not satisfied with product and notified company immediately. They came back next day and was told someone would get back with me.  I had to submit another inquiry before getting a call back and it was not even the owner that contacted me.  I was given several excuses (pad was unlevel-not- and they are not 'installers') and told I could find someone else to meet my needs.
