I was very happy with friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the building. I was extremely happy with my initial meeting with Dr. Bocek. I immediately transferred my 5 cats and 2 dogs records here. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially compared to Vestal Vet which was my previous vet. Dr Bocek is a caring and compassionate vet. I wished I would have switched over sooner.

About two weeks ago my little Pug/mix (6.5yoa) was demonstrating an issue of frequent urination. It started with squatting too many times to urinate. I took her to my vet, that I have dealt with for several years and they said she had an infection and gave me some meds. Several days passed with no improvement and now more squatting attempts to urinate. I then checked some of her squat spots and they were dry. I took her back to the vet and stated she was still attempting to urinate continuously and appeared to me, to be having trouble. They said she had a urinary track infection, gave me an antibiotic and out we went. A couple of days passed and still no improvement and she was now attempting to urinate in the house. She is 100% potty trained. Buy attempting to urinate in the house, I could see there was no urine being expelled. On a Sunday 8/23/2015, I went back to vet, but they were closed.

Sunday afternoon came and went and she was still struggling to urinate. Sunday evening came, no visible urine and I was beginning to panic. At 2am Monday morning it dawned on me to see if I could find an emergency vet. I found Vestal Veterinarian Hospital was open 24/7. I called, they answered, I grabbed the little dog Jersey and rushed to the hospital. She was surely in great distress. Never having been there, I had to do some paper work, and it did seem to take (for me) a little too long to get the doctor.  Yes, I was in a panic.

    But...

The doctor appeared. She took Jersey into the examining room, asked me a few questions, went right out with Jersey and took x-rays and was back in a few minutes. She showed me the x-rays and Jersey had a bladder full of stones and one or some were blocking her urethra and her bladder was full. She told me Jersey would need surgery. I agreed. She gave me a price. I agreed. She told me, go home and she would call me once she was able to release her bladder of the blockage, and the surgery was set to do first thing in the morning. It was around 4am now.

I went home and waited for the call. She called me about 90 minutes later saying that she was able to unblock the bladder and release the urine. She said that the operating doctor would call me after the surgery.

Around four hours later I got the call and the surgery was a success and everything looked fine, and we could visit Jersey in the evening of Monday. We visited Monday and Jersey looked good considering all that she had been through the past two weeks and the surgery. I took her home Tuesday afternoon and she was still a little groggy but settled in, probably glad to be home. She ate a little food and had a bit to drink, did her business (a couple of times) and settled in for some needed rest. At discharge they explained thoroughly about the medications she had to take, her activity level, and keeping an eye on the sutures for infection and her licking them. All looks very good. Jersey even rolls over to tickle her belly. She is resting comfortably as I write this review.

Though I don't include a great deal of detail on what was done, well, I wasn't there. But, the admitting doctor showed sincere concern for Jersey's condition. As I stated, once in the examining room, it was all business. The results speak for themselves. Jersey is well and much better in only two days. I can only be so glad and grateful that they were there for her care. I was explained everything and I was treated well also. Many things could have gone wrong but they didn't and that also speaks of the doctor(s)' efforts.

I am sorry that I didn't think of a 24/7 emergency veterinarian, but it ended well. The doctors and staff at the Vestal Veterinarian Hospital did great work. I am more than satisfied, but again, more grateful they were there!!!! Thanks so much. Jersey said to thank you all also.

The staff is very good. The staff was very accommodating. The waiting room is a little cold. My kitty usually spends the day there for treatment. They give you a report of how my kitty is doing. They will call us if there are any issues. We take our kitty there monthly.

The staff and all the office people are great. We have been going to them for 35 years. They are excellent and prompt. We have 6 cats and they take care of all of them. They are very good veterinarians. There prices is high, but they never rush you. Other hospitals were impressed with the surgery the vet did on my cat.

We took our kitty there because she wasn't feeling good. It turned out they diagnosed that she had diabetes. So, they were trying to work with us to get some treatment for that. The staff were good, all the people in the office and the veterinarian I thought were professional. I would use them again in the future.

It went well very well as usual. Dr. John has been Pepper's vet since she was a puppy. She is a pretty timid dog but the doctor and his assistant handle her with care and compassion making her "ordeal" much less traumatic for her. The doctor is easy to talk to and answers all my questions patiently and completely. We wouldn't consider having another vet take care of Pepper!

Before this visit I had an operation on my Great Dane to attach her stomach to her rib, so she would not get bloat, which can
kill the dog. They took her on an emergency basis and called the specialist for this type of surgery. All went well.
I have always used them for my other dogs and I like that they have a close relationship with Cornell Vet School. The are caring and professional.
They also have a boarding facility, which I have used and liked.

I've heard people say that VMC can be pricey. It can appear that way at first glance, but the pets they tend to are receiving truly superior care. They don't use vaccines and medications that are known to have a high occurrence of side effects and reactions just because they are cheaper. They take the time to thoroughly explain price estimates for planned surgeries and procedures and they are honest about what line items are necessary and which are recommended. I recommend Dr. Labrecque to everyone, and I will continue to do so.

We find the doctors and staff at the clinic to be very professional and caring. We have been clients for over thirty years, and highly recommend their services. Dr. Jeff Shaffer has done outstanding surgerical services in the past. We are always told all options available when a problem occurs, and have often been updated on the latest advances in care and treatment of our pets.

I saw Dr. Skrabalak there. I have taken many of my dogs for years and years and years. He keeps close contact with Cornell which is a primary veterinarian school, so he has close contact with them. He is up on all the new stuff. He is very professional and very caring.
