  • We were pleased with the help & advise we received from our service person, Anthony. He explained the construction of our chimney; what was right and what was wrong, and how we could correct the problem. He also looked at our oil burner, hot water appliances. (We use fuel oil). The chimney was cleaned, swept & the smoke pipes were removed as part of the process. An estimate was given, in writing, with diagram, for future work to be done. We had no trouble scheduling the appointment. The staff was helpful and friendly.

  • They are excellent. They are very good. They re-lined my chimney and did an excellent job. They gave me a stainless steel chimney liner. Very, very good work. They not only swept it but they pulled the old liner out and replaced it with a stainless steel liner.  The price was a little high but I think they did very, very good work. I would rather have somebody excellently rated and I’d rather have something really good. Like I said, the price was a little high but they are really good at what they do. They are multiply certified, by [Chimney Sweeps Institute of America] and several other agencies. Excellent quality. Very good, excellent responsiveness. They are very, very good. I already have an appointment with them for coating the outside of my chimney this August. Three people came out. The workers were nice; they were pleasant. They stuck to the job and got it done. One day to complete the service.

  • Fiance and I were on a budget and the fireplace seemed to be falling apart so we called Oscar for a cleaning and consultation.  The damper was rusted out and not opening or closing so he replaced it with a lock top damper.  The fireplace had holes you could nearly see through so he re-pointed using mortar and also installed a chimney cap (which was a little crooked though).  Overall, thrilled with the quality of the service, the price, and Oscar's professionalism.  Can't wait to start burning!

  • We were approached by the owner of the company during a street fair in Patchogue. Seemed like a nice man, gave a good pitch for his company, and offered a $20 discount on chimney cleaning. Since we hadn't had a cleaning in a while, I set up a cleaning and the owner said he would respond to my home . I also told him that I might need a repair to the chimney's flue, because it appeared that the open/close handle was broken/missing. Owner said he would respond, between 1-4 PM.  On date of service, a young man named Aron (?) showed up, not the owner. He came in an unmarked van, with a young girl hanging out in his van. He did show up in the time period promised. He looked up my chimney. Said it wasn't "that" dirty, but maybe I wanted to put the cost of the cleaning towards buying chimney cap from him ($129 a piece and I would need 2). I did decline this. I asked him to check out my possible flue problem. He said that there was no handle there to open and close the flue, but with a wire, a hook and an eye loop, it would satisfy the problem. But he did not have a hook and an eye with him. I supplied Aron with those items, that I had in my basement.  He tried this, but, after conferring with someone on the phone, he said he wasn't satisfied with the integrity of the hook that I supplied and wanted to arrange a consultation , at a later date , to complete the job. He also said that the repair would be $129.00. I did remark that the price of the hook and eye loop was approx. $1.00, on the high end.  He then said ,"well how about $79.00?". I again said it was about $1 worth of material. He asked what I thought I should pay, and I said, "$25" ($1 part, and a 10 minute repair). He said he would have his boss call me , and he left. No services were provided. I thought that the entire visit was unprofessional.  I photographed the gas fireplace and the aforementioned flue. I showed the photos to two separate chimney showroom repair/install people, at two different business's. BOTH said that that particular flue had no handle and was kept open by a rod, and should always be kept open.  The repair guy who came to my home completely misdiagnosed the problem and was prepared to do a service and charge me for a repair I did not need. Then the "customer care" lady called me, -4- days later, I told her this. She said that the explanation I got from the "other " fireplace representatives was their opinion. No apology, and no other explanation. I WOULD NOT recommend this business to any one. AND, to check with Angie's List and the BBB before hiring anyone. Thank You.

  • I called FMCM and left a message that I needed service. The owner's wife (Lauren) returned my call within an hour and we set up an appointment for the next day. The owner (Ronnie) called me back within a few hours. After Lauren explained to him what was happening in my house, he wanted to ensure that there was no immediate danger of CO infiltration. I thought this was extremely conscientious on his part. I assured him that my CO detector was in working order and that I could wait until the following day.

    Ronnie and his brother John arrived punctually the next day, with a phone call prior to their arrival to let me know they were on their way. They removed the joint connecting the chimney to the oil burner, then went up to the roof and videotaped the chimney from the outside at the roof level, and then inside, down to the bottom where the chimney curves into the oil burner connection. I was able to see the condition of the chimney bricks and the joint at the roof, and all the way down the sleeve. I authorized the outer chimney repairs and installation of a new cap. They did the entire job in a couple of hours.

    Throughout the time they were here, they were professional and respectful of my property, taking care to avoid tracking soot and dirt in the house or smearing the walls. They were extremely courteous and knowledgeable, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction.

    This is a family business and you're always dealing directly with the principals. I would definitely call them again for any further maintenance and/or repairs.
