    Butch and his mechanics always do quality work and are great diagnosticians. He is also very good with scheduling and time management, which is very important when one is trying to catch a train! He really works with us to make drop offs and pick ups work with our schedules, which is greatly appreciated. One thing that many females may enjoy knowing is that he has never once talked down to the lady of this house. Actually, he is the very first mechanic who took the time to explain things respectfully to her. Sadly, this wasn't the norm, but it is a very big reason the whole family used Easy Rider. We haven't bought a used car unless Butch inspected and approved of it (a total of 5 vehicles). Not only will he tell you honestly when something is not worth fixing, but on the rare occasion the issue or ping isn't fixed, he will make you his top priority to get your issue fixed. When our older son graduated college and needed a vehicle to get to and from graduate school out of state, he helped us by telling us another longtime customer whose vehicle he had personally serviced since they bought it new was looking to sell it and buy another new vehicle. Knowing Easy Rider had serviced this car since it was driven off the car lot made us completely confident our son would be safe, and you just can't put a price on that!

    Unfortunately, the young man who was our sales person, he shouldn't be a sales person.  Either he was new, and as I said wen you're buying a car it's a lot of money, leasing it's a lot of money.  And we negotiated it down to a point where he was not a happy camper,  So, and it was obvious he was not a happy camper.  Oh, we got a great deal, but we negotiated down to it.  You've got to know what you're doing is what it comes down to.  You're going to be taken advantage of unless you take care of yourself, no one is going to take care of you.  Again, their service department, I've only been there twice, is excellent.  The service departments of these dealerships, I mean I have experience with the two, and is absolutely wonderful.  The courtesy, the timeliness, the professionalism, they answer all the questions you have, there's no rush, you know, they're wonderful.

    I have been going to them for about 30 years. The prices are always good, they do the work you need not what you don't need. It is not where I live but it is worth the extra trip to know I am being treated right.

    My daughter
    had her car serviced at PEP Boys.
    They tell
    her she needed a wheel alignment.
    She has it
    Because of her hours, my daughter leaves for work in the
    morning, when it?s still dark, and also arrives back home in the dark. Given
    this, she didn?t notice her back wheel was tilting inward. I had noticed it the
    following weekend in the daylight.
    I mentioned
    it to her, with her response being that she just had a wheel alignment done at
    PEP Boys.
    I suggested
    taking it back to PEP Boys to find out what?s work.
    waiting several hours to have her car serviced, the PEP Boys mechanic informs
    her that there?s nothing bent, and, whoever did the alignment (unbeknownst to
    him that it was his shop) did it incorrectly.
    Once my
    daughter mentions that it was his shop that did the alignment (or, in this
    case, the misalignment) he tells her that he?ll take another look at it, having
    to have her wait another hour or so.
    examining the car a second time, his story changes. This time around, he claims
    that he redid the alignment free of charge (that I?m skeptical of) but also
    discovered something bent, without naming precisely what was bent. This comes
    after being originally told, on first inspection, that there was nothing bent.
    Approximately 5 hours of the car being at the shop, nothing was accomplished.
    My daughter was told that they have to order the part.
    I gave PEP
    Boys a call, asked to speak to the manager (to no surprise was not available)
    but wound up speaking to someone else, could have been the Asst. Manager. He
    threw in another spin. He told me it was a miscommunication between my daughter
    and the mechanic. I put my daughter on the phone with the Asst. Manager. It was
    confirmed that there was no miscommunication. What I stated above is exactly
    what my daughter was told. Now for the spin: After getting back on the phone
    with the A. M. he then claims the miscommunication was between the mechanic and
    he, stating that the mechanic was referring to another car that happened to be
    the same model as my daughter?s, that coincidentally, also needed a wheel
    alignment. AMAZING ISN?T IT? The same model car, on the same day, a Sunday,
    needing the same work done; a wheel alignment. If anyone believes that, I have
    a bridge to sell them.
    My take on
    this is as follows:
    Either PEP
    Boys was attempting to charge my daughter for work that the car didn?t need
    done in order to make up for their loss on their botched alignment job, or, the
    mechanics that work there (and I was told that this particular mechanic has 8
    years of experience) are so incompetent that, after spending an extended amount
    of time examining, they couldn?t tell the difference between a car needing a
    wheel alignment and a damaged part that needs to be replaced.
    In either
    case, they won?t be getting any more of my business. You may want to think
    twice before giving them any of yours.

    I had called for an inspection and I know his shop is busy. He is only open weekdays so he made room in his schedule that day for the inspection since I had the day off from work.
    It worked. Car inspected on my day off.

    I'm very happy with them. The price was more than what I would have paid if I'd gone to one of these things where you pay $19 or $22 or something like that. It was more expensive than an oil change somewhere else, however I don't mind paying the extra because I know the job is done right and I know when I need service on the car, it gets done right so if he makes an extra $5 or $10 on an oil change, I really don't care. I can show up without an appointment and he's always been able to squeeze me in except for one time. When you can find a mechanic that you trust, you go with him. I've been on Long Island for 40 years and he's the first mechanic that I found that I think I could really trust so I'll stick with him. I know I can get a better price on something like an oil change but if I were to take my car for some serious work, I would only take it there and it's a matter of trust rather than worrying about the price. When I left the car there and they said it will be ready by a certain time, it was ready by that time. I wouldn't even venture to try using another auto company on Long Island. If I broke down in Florida, I go to somebody down there but if I broke down anywhere on Long Island, I'd have AAA tow it to Faithful Automotive.

    Tim Ryan Inc is excellent all the way around. He does a lot of work so sometimes you gotta wait a bit but his prices and level of service he provides are professional and excellent. His prices are very, very reasonable. He does excellent work and he's very trustworthy. When you went in and you said something needs to get done, he gets done with it.
