  • I had injured myself in a car accident and needed some serious help with the housework.  Maria came on a moments notice, did a great job deep cleaning the areas that hadn't been cleaned in a month and now comes every other week.  She is on time or early (she called to tell me that she would be a little early and was that okay or should she stop for a cup of coffee...I thought that was very considerate).  I have a dog and cat and she is comfortable around them and they like her (and the cat usually hides around strangers).  She cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen, mopped the floors, vacuumed the carpet, dusted, organized, made the beds and changed the sheets.  She even cleaned the nose prints and fingerprints on my sliding glass door from the dog and my grandson which I didn't expect her to do.  She gets on a step ladder to dust the top of my tall entertainment unit and get cobwebs off my vaulted ceilings.  I am comfortable enough to give her a key and have her in my home alone.  I'm really glad I found her.

  • I have been using Dove Window Cleaning for years now.  Rudy Hugo, the owner did the best job cleaning my windows that was ever done at a price I considered to be a bargain.  The work is always done at the time and date we discuss, only once was that changed and he contacted me well in advance to see if it was okay with me to make the change.  My feeling was if it wasn't he would have come on the originally scheduled date and time.
    I don't know how he gets the windows so spotless but I have NEVER seen them this clean, he also cleans all the screens which I love.  You would think with the excellence of the job it would take most of the day (I have a fairly big house) but he is done in a flash.
    Rudy himself is an amazing man, very personable and trustworthy.  I would not hesitate to give him the security code to the house but because he always accommodates my schedule I have never needed to do that.  I tell everyone I know to use him and no one has ever been unhappy with his work.
    It is so nice dealing with a business which takes such pride in it's work, it's work ethic and customer satisfaction.
    I couldn't think of a higher recommendation and I was so shocked that he was not on Angies List I thought it my duty to make sure this jewel is available to it's members.

  • One of my issues with the company was that they were not sending the same people every time.  So every time I would have to go over with them what they were to do and not do.  Number two I did not feel comfortable leaving them alone in my house because I did not know them having new people every time.  Also different people have different methods of cleaning and sometimes it was done more thoroughly than others.  They finally hooked me up with two service women Lizzy and Gladys.  Once I got Lizzy and Gladys everything was perfect.  They cleaned my house beautifully.  I have been using Gladys for probably over a year.  I felt completely comfortable leaving them alone in my home, or leaving the door unlocked so that they could come in and do their job if I wasn’t home.  Lizzy and Gladys always asked me, if I was here, before they left if I was satisfied with the job, if there was anything else they could do.  One of the issues was my foyer floors which has white tiles, it was not coming clean.  So they made the extra effort and always asked me or told me that the next week they would be working on the tiles and they would.  So once I got Lizzy and Gladys I was so happy.  Overall, I don’t think the company is run particularly well, like for instance, they were supposed to come and clean the night before my daughter’s birthday party and I was having nearly 50 people the next day and they never showed.  It was not until 6 PM that night that the owners called, apologized and said that they will not be able to make it that day.  They knew that I had a party.  That is why I am not giving the company high rating even though I would rate Lizzy and Gladys very high.  I thought their price was very high because though I have fairly large colonial they did not clean half of it.  They did not clean four of the bedroom, and out of the five rooms downstairs they did not clean one of them.  They only cleaned half my house.  The reason why they claim that their prices are so high is because they are licensed and insured.  But when they broke stuff they never fixed it.  Before I got Lizzy and Gladys one of them broke the laminate of my kitchen cupboard.  I took pictures and send it to the owner and he told me to go out and get some wood glue and glue it myself.  I was kind of like for $140 when I send you pictures why don’t you get into your car and come out here and do it for me.  The company is not run well.  The girls Lizzy and Gladys are wonderful but everybody prior to them was inconsistent.  The girls were professional.  I will not use them again.

  • We've been clients of Maid Brigade for about 2 years.  We live in Eastern Long Island.  We're very pleased with our current cleaning ladies, a team of 2, and sometimes they bring a third.  However, we've had several teams along the way, which was rather unsettling, especially since we weren't notified before hand that new people, or a new person was replacing someone we knew and had begun to trust. I discussed this issue several times w/ the owners, who blamed unreliable staff.  OK, but who's hiring all of these "unreliable" peoplle???   The company states they are "insured and bonded", but that doesn't settle my mind about having a parade of strangers in my home (and forget about leaving strangers ALONE in my home!  It's just not smart in this day and age).  That being said, I DO trust my current team, and feel perfectly safe having them alone in my house.  The ladies I have now always ask if I'm happy w/ their work, and if there's anything else they can do.The office responds to calls quickly, and they are very flexible regarding changing dates.  We've had a few mix-ups over the year(s), but I guess that's to be expected once in a while.  I do feel like I can call them with problems or complaints, although I don't always feel their "resolution" is fair. .We're given a 2 hour window as to when to expect the ladies, and they are pretty much always on time.   I don't want to be a pest, so i've haven't complained of every little thing.  I just do what I can to make the job easier for the girls when they come.  Another "complaint" i have is that as a "long time" client, I would expect some coupons or perks here and there (especially after they have broken something, or missed an appt), and i'd expect the coupon offerd and  brought or sent to me.  I don't think as a long time client I should have to hunt through all the local papers looking for a coupon or discount.  I did find a coupon once in a paper, but the experation date was before my next scheduled cleaning.  I called to ask if they'd honor it, and I feel I got a bit of a run-around.  I was asked where i saw the coupon, and I thought it was in one paper, but was told "we don't advertise with them".  In my opinion, that was the WRONG answer.  Obviously I saw the coupon somewhere!  They finally agreed to honor it, but it's never happened.  The cleaning team wasn't advised, and their days are planned out very carefully.  I don't think it's my place to "spring it on them" that they need to clean my oven or the inside of my fridge.  Doing so, unplanned, would put them behind, and probably late for the rest of their appts.  They did clean my oven once, but that was their very first time here.  They do offer coupons to new clients all the time.  What about taking care of existing clients?  Mail us coupons, or better yet, have the team BRING them!  Even after my other complaints, i was never offered a coupon or some type of discount.  It's not that i'm always looking for a discount, but if your employees screw up, wouldn't it be good business practice to offer an existing client something?  Wouldn't it also be good business practice to reward existing customers once or twice a year w/ an extra service?  Just out of good will?  In this economy, a cleaning service is a luxary!  If I could clean my home myself, I would.  However, i suffer from a debilitating illness that prevents me from being able to lug and scub and apply the elbow grease needed to really clean the house.   I give this branch of Maid Brigade an overall grade of B.  If i could grade my current team, i'd give them an A!  But because of the issues stated above, and a few others i've opted to keep private, I can't give the branch a grade of anything higher than a C.  Therefore, their avarage is a B.
