    Excellent Exterior and Deck Company
If you are considering a deck I highly recommend Joseph Vitale and Excellent Exterior & Deck Co. The whole experience was wonderful, beginning to end. He returned my call within 48 hours of contacting him and met with us just a couple days later. Joe took measurements and gave a quote all in the same initial appointment. The price was well within reason. Everything went exactly as he said, he took care of everything including permits. He was even able to begin work sooner than expected. His crew were professional and efficient. They started on time and worked hard all day, completing the job in just 2 days! They cleaned up so well you would never know they were there. Overall, the whole experience was as good as we have ever had working with a contractor. I wish all contractors could run this professional an operation.

    NML Contracting & Roofing
Excellent job! Joe's team was able to replace our roof (~1,800sq ft) in one day! It looks fantastic, and they did a great job of cleaning up. Everyone was extremely professional and Joe stopped by at the end of the day to make sure everything was perfect. Really good experience.

    DECHER'S REPAIR SERVICE
The service call was excellent, we were expecting to have to replace parts but the honesty of the technician saved us from sinking any money into the repairs. A good cleaning under and behind the fridge proved to be all it needed. We were very happy with the service.

    Paul The Painter
He did an excellent job, put down dropcloths in all areas to prevent splatter and cleaned up after himself each day so that we could still use the areas. We were extremely pleased with the process and the outcome.

    TRC Framing Solutions LLC
Very professional, good quality , easy to get along, very responsive to calls and text. New (not replacements) windows in my 26 year old home. I needed add-on work due to water damage, he gave me a very reasonable price. He added higher quality material (concrete vs plastic) at no additional cost. I did request all scrape material be more neatly consolidated during construction. I will have him quote replacement windows in my rental building in the future.

    Northeastern Masonry & Chimney
I called Northeast once and also sent a message to them through the Angies List website to see if I could get someone to give me a price on doing this work but never heard from them either by phone or email.

    Averill Park Septic Svc LLC
Job was not as simple as I expected . Scum layer was very thick because maintenance had not been done for a long time. Also, the tank has two chimneys, one with the cover at surface level. I had told the office on the set-up call that no digging would be necessary. However, the serviceman found that at the easy-access chimney, very hard scum prevented the pumping of the liquid there. I had started digging down to the second chimney with the cover below surface level, but did not finish before. The serviceman finished digging down to the cover w/o charging extra. He finished the job very efficiently. Also used a discount that lowered the price below $200. And he came in a super clean red truck!

    Affordable Energy
Im finally able write a review after having to deal with fallout from this ordeal. To say the least, my experience with Affordable Energy was horrible. I hired them to remove all fiberglass insulation from attic, remove all debris, put in cellulose insulation with standard practices, patch hole in the ceiling, build deck to walk over to A/C air handler (house came with it) and install new bathroom fan. They never advised on any potential issues with A/C system. The smell from cellulose was coming in to my living space through A/C system and any hole they didnt seal. I managed to fix A/C problem but smell of cellulose isnt all gone. Before installing cellulose, its standard practice to seal holes where pipes and power lines go through, seal electrical boxes and, if there is ductwork in attic, seal around registers and return and they were supposed to install rafter vents in all rafters. None of that was done. They put in rafter vents in randomly leaving many rafters without vents. The rafter vents arent stapled properly so they are falling off one by one. Above the kitchen cabinets theres a soffit the builder didnt close the top of. Part of this soffit is against the wall to the bathroom. Instead of putting fiberglass insulation to fill that opening, they just blew in cellulose until it started to pile up. Eventually the cellulose will fall down in wall making the area uninsulated. They blew-in cellulose on the easy spots and neglected the hard spots (tight corners, under deck, under air handler, etc.). They didnt remove old rotting fiberglass insulation where rafters meet soffits and I wouldnt be surprised that if they pushed some of this insulation into the soffit vents (I have not been able to check this yet) while stuffing fiberglass insulation in this area to prevent wind-washing. They left pieces of old insulation everywhere and didnt remove any debris. Patching hole in ceiling: they somehow managed to install the new piece of sheetrock unevenly. They were supposed to have mudded it at that time and didnt. Two weeks later, John finally shows up to mud it. No one ever came back to finish it and they never patched anything around bathroom fan. Deck: entrance to attic is rather small and low so the first 3ft or so had to be made lower. They installed a piece of 2x6 on each side to hold the cellulose. One side is wobbly and ready to break off and the other is flimsy. At the point where the grade goes up, they were supposed to install a piece of 2x6 to hold cellulose but that was too hard so they stuffed a little bit of fiberglass insulation. Half the deck is difficult to walk on because it also was not installed properly. Whats worse, they broke off (not removed) two out of only four collar ties seriously compromising structural integrity of my roof. They left the pieces on attic floor and covered with cellulose. They only did what was easy and skipped what was hard. John said they would vacuum out any debris left as part of the insulation removal. They left garbage on attic floor (dust masks, plastic bags, white coverall, etc.) and covered with cellulose. John Eggleston was here one time to mud the patched ceiling and looked at attic and actually said, I see good workmanship. I never heard from him again and wont answer his phone. Peter Collisson was here on day of work and seemed like he was trying to get away from doing some of the work. I called Peter a few days later about my concerns. He just referred me to John. Peter doesnt care. These people are incompetent and crooked. Looks like small claims court next. Video of damages: [*** Link removed ***]

    Noland's Painting LLC
I hired Ken Noland to paint my deck and porch. Even though the job turned out to be much more than he expected, he was always very professional and meticulous. He is a true gentleman and clearly takes great pride in his work. I highly recommend him.

    Koops Overhead Doors LLC
Wonderful company and very nice to deal with. They were able to replace my old, not working, garage door opener the next day after I called them. The left the garage immaculate and took the time to explain everything to me. I will definitely call them again if I need something.
