The experience with Tim and the family is world class and exceeded our expectations. The job was a huge job that entailed a full gut and custom update to a three floor home that had special requirements. It was a huge undertaking and was met with first rate service and professionalism. 95% of the home was redone, including subflooring for the first two floors. They reconfigured the house by making it more open and functional. New bar/gym and living area was created downstairs from scratch. There were many things that could have gone wrong in a project like this that fortunately was kept to a minimum. Don't be fooled that it's a small family business as Tim will state on the initial call as most larger contractors will overstaff jobs like these to make them more expensive but don't save on time and don't produce better results. They were pulling long hours and rarely took days off over the course of the four month project. To get the flooring done by a deadline we needed met they stayed until 3am and came back at 730am the next morning. Tim is honest and is very upfront about what to expect. We now have our dream home and couldn't be happier with Russell Renovations! You would be remised not to inquire about his services.

    Kaz Companies Inc
Kaz isn't cheap, but they are reliable and professional, they do high-quality work, and they stand behind it. If they do charge more, you are getting something of value with the added cost. We looked at a lot of contractors before settling on Kaz. We almost went with another, who was encouraging us to do work that in retrospect really was a bad idea (moving an exterior wall to make the kitchen bigger). The Kaz designer said that would not be prudent, describing how much extra work it would involve; she showed us how the kitchen space we have is plenty, with the right design. Instead she helped us with really useful remodeling ideas, such taking a bit of garage space to make a mud room (that has worked out extremely well). She displayed great competence in her arguments and her understanding of the mechanics behind all the options, and in fact our meeting with her is what sold us on the company. We didn't interact with her much after that, but fortunately everyone else we dealt with met the same standard that she had set. The designer we met with in their store led us through all the choices of fixtures, tile, etc., and were happy with the selections we made with her help. Once the work started, the project took about 12 weeks in all, and extended over both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. There was a base crew of two, with others helping on and off with special tasks such as drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile. Everyone was courteous and professional. The work continued pretty much without interruption (other than a bit off for the holidays) until it was completed. They accommodated big and small changes as the project proceeded (e.g., changing placement of shower head). If the changes meant more work, they would charge for it, but these costs were clearly laid out in writing up front; there were no surprise charges at any point. They continued to give advice that seemed impartial, sometimes recommending against ideas that would have led to additional charges. There were a few glitches along the way, which I think are to be expected for a project of this scope. I have no complaints about how they were handled. Afterward, some grout in the shower-floor tile kept coming out. A Kaz guy returned several times to fix it, trying more aggressive steps each time. In all, it took several weeks with various attempted fixes to finally get it good. Through all this, they responded promptly each time I reported the problem, and they never charged me for any of it. The point here is that they stood behind their work. As part of this job, I also had them replace two skylights that had leaked every winter since they were replaced when I had a roofing job done a few years before, by another company. That company was utterly unable to make them stop leaking, and eventually flat out said that skylights just do that and I shouldnt expect otherwise. The new skylights installed by Kaz have never leaked since they did the replacement. Several years have passed since all this work was done, and it's holding up extremely well (including that shower tile). We love the design and the decisions we made, particularly going with Kaz for this project.

    Versa Tile
We were very happy with the work John Kress and his crew did to replace cabinets, flooring, and drywall in our kitchen and hallways.Pricing was reasonable compared to other estimates, and work got done as per the written estimate. John charged for labor only, as we selected and purchased cabinets, fixtures, and flooring separate. The crew was punctual, friendly, answered questions, and gave recommendations when asked. The quality of work was excellent. There were several opportunities for them to charge more than the estimate based on changes to the work, but that never happened. The contractor was recommended by our cabinet supplier, Kitchen Advantage, and we plan to contact them again for bathroom remodeling.

    Reuse Resurface
We were very impressed when we met Scott Huntington, the owner of ReuseResurface. He thoroughly explained the process he was going to use to resurface our kitchen counters and back splash, as well as the sinks and counters in our three bathrooms. He showed us several samples of the various colors that were available, and he patiently answered all of our questions. Not only is Scott the owner of the company, but he is the person who does almost of the work with one assistant. We were very pleased with how professionally the work was done. The entire job was completed in two days. In short, we are delighted with how beautiful our kitchen and bathrooms look now. . . all at a very fair price in today's market. We constantly get compliments from our family and friends, and they all want to know who did this excellent work for us. We highly recommend the ReuseResurface company to anyone who is in need of this of home improvement. The business phone number for Reuse Resurface is (716) 444-1252.

If you are looking for fast, high quality construction at affordable prices you are going to want to contact Russell Renovations. They take the time to truly understand what you are looking for and work hard to make sure that they not only meet your expectations but exceed them. I think one of their best qualities, aside from their workmanship, is their communication. From day one, we knew what the plan was for each day and how long the project would take. They showed up at the same time each scheduled work morning and left at the same time at the end of each day. We had a kitchen renovation done and Russell Renovations ensured us that we would have a working kitchen during the entire construction. Not only did we have a working kitchen, but they took the time to make sure that the work area was cleaned up each night. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with our new kitchen and would recommend Russell Renovations to anyone looking for a great renovation experience!

    New York Kitchen & Bath
The price was reasonable. I would be less likely to use them again if that lady was still there. It all depends on if that lady is still there. You go there and you order up the vanity, and the toilet, and the top, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah; all the pieces and the parts. They sub-contract somebody to actually put it in. That's fine. I went on Angie's List and I found a fellow to come and put it all in. He had great reviews, he was in the area, I gave him a call and he was able to do it, everything's good. I gave that information to the lady that had taken the order and she flat out said, "I will not work with him". She had worked with him before and she didn't like him: "he was unprofessional". She straight up said she wouldn't not work with him. Then it got worse from there. I was unhappy with the vanity that they had for me, I think. So, I went to another company and found one there. I wrote to her and said "I found one there and I'm going to go with that, but everything else is the same, the tile and the top and door and the shower doors and all of that, we're going to go with that". She initially wrote back, "I think you can get all of that there, so why don't you just use them", and I thought, "what did I do to her?" So, I went in (clearly she didn't want to work with me), so okie-dokie, but she had already ordered the tile and I had to come in and get the tile. So, I went in to get the tile and pay for the tile and to talk to her and say, "can we resolve this? Or No? Or what do you want to do here?" and she wasn't in. I talked to the manager who was horrified. I showed him the email, so I'm not making this up. "This is what she wrote to me, do you not want my business or what is the story?" He took me on himself, God bless him. He showed me a different vanity. I wasn't real thrilled with it, but the man was bending over backwards to please me. I was a repeat customer and here I was going away, and he was unhappy about that and he even said, "I feel like firing her now," and I said, "please don't do that". I don't know what their history is, but it's very strong. He agreed that I could use the fellow that I wanted, he ordered up everything for me, and loaded the tile into my car. I ended up using him and it came out beautiful and I'm happy. It was just that one person. Overall, it came out lovely, the manger couldn't have been nicer to me. It was just her that was not. He was very nice to me. I would give her an "F" and him an "A" so a "C" should balance everything out. They got my tile, so I went and got that, but obviously we had to change out the whole order, which eliminated everything but the tile, but the manager was having none of that and saying, "how about this mirror? Do you want this mirror?" bring the price down. He was almost giving me stuff in the end. I was so embarrassed. He did do a beautiful job. I would probably use them again, but I would request to work with somebody other than that lady. She was wonderful the first time around, nothing but high marks the first time around. It all had to do with this contractor guy.

    Sullivan Interior Finishing
The completed shower project was incredible and the attention to detail shows in their work. Joel and Derek did a great job managing the project and they were very professional. Everything was kept clean / neat during installation and communication was excellent. I would definitely use them again for future projects and strongly recommend to others.

They were great. He did a great job. His crew came in and they were on time, cleaned up after themselves, pleasant to have in the house. I would recommend him to a neighbor. He came highly recommended from other neighbors as I was talking to other people. It's the average cost for an average remodel of a kitchen.

    Perkins Home Improvement
We have underwent several project with Perkins Home Improvement between 2013 and 2016. Consistently we have found the process to be very smooth, and we have been very satisfied with the work that has been completed.

Throughout the projects listed we have found the following:

    • Quoting Process
    • -Process is prompt and timely.
    • -There is an up front discussion of the issues, so there are no unexpected surprises during the project
    • -Scope of work is clearly defined. Cost effective options we brought to my attention up front to be discussed and mutually decided upon
    • -Very thorough. The quote includes details so there are no questions down the road.

    Execution of Project
        • -Projects have all finished within the anticipated timeframe
        • -Projects have all finished within the quoted budget (a testament to the thoroughness, transparency, and accuracy of the quotes)
        • -Project quality consistently exceeds expectations (demonstrates the knowledge and craftsman ship of Chris and his crew)
        • -Communication of any issues or unforeseen circumstances throughout the project is great. Eliminates any confusion or questions related to the ongoing work
        • -Overall, the work is done well, communication throughout it great, and our satisfaction with the work speaks for itself. We continue to use Perkins Home Improvement for all projects

    • -The work area, and the surrounding area are cleaned daily and no mess is left behind (my wife appreciated this)
    • -Chris has been able to accommodate a tight schedule on several occasions
    • -Very good at describing the many trade-offs in a project as there are often cost/quality considerations. He often gives an honest opinion, describes the advantages and disadvantages of all options, and lets the homeowner decide. In our experience, many contractors will take shortcuts to save cost, while pocketing the difference. This is not the case here, and leaves the homeowner informed, and with a job they are satisfied with.

    Projects with Perkins Home Improvement:

    Summer 2016- Bathroom Remodel
    Fall 2015- Basement Finish
Winter 2014- Assessment of Leak/Damage caused by old window & bathroom
    Summer 2013 - Cabinet Installation
Summer 2013- Home Inspection (very thorough, found several things overlooked by a previous buyer's inspection just a few week prior). Saved several thousand dollars by finding these things prior to the purchase.

    PCJ General Contracting
Peter is great to work with, I felt working with him and his crew became a partnership.  His quality level of work throughout was top notch.  Naturally because of the large scale project he encountered many unexpected problems along the way.  He was very accommodating of any of the issues that came up.  Anyone with reasonable expectations would understand will produce delays, so we had plenty of those.  He always found the best solutions to sometimes disastrous issues created by previous home owners.
He works with a great small crew and found myself hanging out with them just chatting quite often, very good guys.  The whole team was very receptive of any changes or improvements along the way.  If I ever had a problem with any work or issues, I felt very comfortable to speak up because Peter and his crew were eager to please.  My wife and I found the substantial amount of knowledge and experience that Peter carries with him invaluable.  As it often guided us in our decision making process not only for how things should get done, but also general aesthetic appearances.
We've already had him start new estimates on new work.  We're so eager to bring him back that we have to remind ourselves of our budgetary constraints!
When he's working on your job he's extremely easy to get in touch with.  The only criticism I can offer is that he's so busy and highly demanded, he can sometimes be difficult to get a hold of when he's on other job sites  So sometimes a little friendly persistence was required.  Honestly we find this to be the case with any "place" we become fans of.  Unfortunately that has a tendency to come with the territory!
