Appliance Repair reviews in Dobbs Ferry

The first time he came he did work to stop the leak by replacing a small segment of the plastic tubing. He gave a 30 day guarantee on his work. About 32 or 33 days after the leak was fixed there was a leak again. I called and he came back again. This time he replaced the entire piece of tubing. As he explained, the tubing tends to dry out due to the heat produced behind the refrigerator, in a small space. He didn't charge me for the service charge/labor although it was outside the 30 day period.

Top-notch service. A very nice, diligent, careful and soft-spoken repairman came by. The repair went well, and he even took extra time to make sure the freezer was sparkling before leaving (our freezer had an issue where the copper pipe was leaving blue specs everywhere). I was really impressed with the level of service provided.

I called and he came by and problem was fixed and resolved so fast!!! So nice, professional, trustworthy. Dryer is back up and running. He had the necessary part so there was no wait, and no ordering.

.Overall the experience is ok. not as good as I thought. The price is simply too expensive for this type of work. why i gave a B to the experience:
    5. No alternatives offered. he did not think on behalf a customer. if I
know it would cost me $200 to repair this and my driver was too old, i
    may well just replace it.
    1. no breakdown of prices. i had to ask how he came up with the final price and what part was labor and what part was parts and where my discount was.
    2. No sense of service mindset: lint was cleaned out and pipe was changed, and he just left them there and did not bother to clean them. wore shoes over my carpet.
    3. I asked him to check the leaks. he said it was ok as he did not smell anything. maybe he was too experienced to "smell" it. would it be better to brush some soap water and see leakages?
    4. Maybe it was his style... but I was not very comfortable with his troubleshooting "techniques", if there is any.No visibility of what he did and why he did it. I asked him to change the exhaustion pipe and he did it. And it seemed to have fixed the I the expert or what?
    5. No alternatives offered. he did not think on behalf a customer. if I  know it would cost me $200 to repair this and my driver was too old, i may well just replace it.
I suggest you do it yourself if your dryer takes too long to dry. If your dryer is too old, you may want to just replace it. this does not worh it.

Here's the thing. You want someone to your home quickly? Call Vinny. I called him for a washing machine that had stopped working - and even described the problem after looking on the Internet about what was happening - and he said I'd pegged it correctly (it was a drive coupling that needed a replacement). He came the day I called him, fixed it in an hour, and I gave him a check. He came back a few months later when I had some water on the floor that turned out to be because of my sink (which he didn't fix), but he also replaced my dryer duct because I had one that sucked. He charged $100 - $80 for the visit, $20 for the duct.

Our conversation went something like this: "Hey, if there's any way you could get out to the house, I'm worried about this water..." "I'll be there at 3:30." This is pretty typical, honestly. So that's 2 experiences with him - both real good.

It was a horrible experience. The service people were rude and incompetent. Each time we called, they couldn't come for a week, so the whole thing dragged out to over 3 weeks. It turned out to be a trivial problem and they weren't able to identify it because they refused to listen to anything we have to say -- the service person who came out on the 3rd visit decided that the problem was the same as before, without even looking at the dishwasher again, even though when the problem was correctly diagnosed by someone else, it has no relation to what the first problem was. Overall, we were very displeased, and will never use them again.

We originally had another company service the dishwasher. They replaced the drain pump and the problem persisted. We called Household Appliance Service and the service person showed up on time, and within 5 minutes found that the problem was not with the drain pump at all, and fixed it immediately. He even vacuumed around the dishwasher for us to prevent future problems. The service was very professional and well done. It did take a week to get an appointment though.
