  • Shawna's is absolutely the best for daycare, grooming or boarding. A great staff and owners who really care about the dogs. They make sure that the dogs are taken care of and have lots of playtime. We feel very lucky to have found them and be part of the Shawna's dogs family.

  • Our dog was well cared for. He is 13 years old and after his stay his vigor and energy actually seemed better than before. He gets playtime with other dogs but when he gets tired, the staff notices and moves him to his quarters where he can rest/sleep. We feel like the care provided is personal and professional. Highly recommend.

  • Nancy Gorman is a very responsible pet sitter for home visits.  She comes to my house every week day to take care of my two greyhounds while I'm at work.  She is the third pet sitter I have used and is by far the best, and her rates are comparable with pet sitters in the area.  I can always reach her in case of emergency, and that is extremely important as I sometimes have an unpredictable travel schedule.  She also boards my dogs at her home when I have to travel out of town, and the dogs are very comfortable at her house, not stressed like they would be at a kennel.

  • We dealt with two of the vets at the hospital on our minor injury visit for a broken tail. One vet said it would heal on its own while the next vet that came in to see our dog said we must amputate (an expensive surgery). In the end, we went with our gut and bandaged our dog's tail and applied antibiotic cream for 2 weeks and it healed.
Next, dealing with putting our dog down the following year, we felt that once again the vet discussed two expensive surgical procedures before we had to bring up putting our frail, elderly dog down as being more humane than a long surgical procedure followed by questionable rehabilitation.
Overall, we felt that procedures were pushed more than simple, humane medicine.

  • What a breath of fresh air! Dr. Kearney was great! We had previously been at another Delmar vet, but this practice was friendly, competant, efficient, and not overpriced. The staff were kind and patient while the vet spent time answering all my questions. I truely felt like they took extra time to make me and my dog comfortable. Love the practice!!!

  • We were planning a two and a half week trip to Germany to visit extended family. I called Weston Kennels. The owner said he would not accept my dog because he usually forges bonds with dogs at a much younger age. My dog is a rescue and we estimate him to be around 10. The owner advised against us putting him in a kennel at his age for the first time. He said it could be very stressful for him. We have always had someone stay with him at our home. But our last sitter had moved away. He was very kind and clearly has the dog's best interest in mind not his bottom line. I would do business with him in the future with a younger dog and establish the dog's vacation routine along with ours so he looks forward to it as much as we do.

  • As stated above, we have used this veterinary practice for several years - very successfully. Both doctors are both knowledgeable and understanding. Although their support staff has turned over several times since we started, everyone continues to be great.
We place a high value on the care of our animals, and this practice meets all the special needs we continue to identify.

  • We brought our dog in for his Cushing disease checkup. Dr. Crowe examined our dog and reordered the script he needs to keep his hormones in balance. We also discussed our dogs difficulty with gagging and Dr. Crowe ordered xrays to rule our serious disease. Both our dogs also had their nails trimmed. We have been going to Shaker since the early 70s having taken all of our pets there. Dr. Wolfe is an outstanding diagnostician, but he is now semi retired. We find his veterinary staff to be very kind and competent. Many of our pets have been so well treated that we would never go anywhere else. The practice has become very big, however, and you do have to wait in the waiting room for some time. I still find the care and competency worth the wait. Whether it be emergency care, routine checkups, accupuncture or boarding, we have never been disappointed. We know our pets will receive loving and expert treatment.

  • They're good. They just care for cats and you don't have to deal with dogs or anything like that. They are very knowledgeable. The staff is attentive and sensitive to cat owner needs. They are nice to the cats and are a very good veterinarian practice. The wait time is reasonable and I would recommend the place. Its a good veterinary service.

  • My experience is always very good. It is a small office so you really get to know the people and they get to know you. I have never had to wait too long there. The vet takes a lot of time with the appointments to explain things and give you all the options and the pricing is reasonable.
