    Wickman Construction Inc
Brian was a pleasure to deal with. His crew was professional. They were here @ 7 AM every morning and made sure that the rest of the house stayed clean. They did excellent work and I have received many compliments on the project. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again

This was a great experience. It did take a few days for them to return my initial call. But after that, everything was done quickly, efficiently, and for a great price. Very neat, very professional, very happy with the work. I would definitely use this company again.

    Tool Time Home Improvements
So after a long search for a good contractor I went with Bernard and his team. I wanted to expand a 1/2 bathroom that I had, expand my tiny half closet, and refinish my basement. Everything looked like it was from the 60s and it was very dark. The bathroom was extremely tiny where it just barely fit a toilet and vanity. Bernard was very knowledgable and easy to talk too. He was always ready to help answer any questions I had either through text messages or phone calls. We sketched out the plan of how I wanted the bathroom designed, and then he gave me a list of materials I needed to buy. His men were definitely professionals in their trade (plumbing, electrical, tiling, etc). I watched each day as things progressed and they really took pride in their work to make things look perfect. Lampert one of the main workers was there just about everyday and he too was able to explain why I needed certain things or how things worked. Each of the workers helped give me some other ideas as the project continued through. They were there everyday at 7 am except for Sundays and had all my work done in 2 weeks and a half. I was very pleased and would definitely hire Bernard and team again for future projects. I'm very happy with how everything came out. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for renovations.

    Precision Painting Plus
Matt and his incredible team at Precision Painting Plus handled my complete project from start to finish. One Account Lead was involved the entire team so there was no repeating myself unnecessarily along the way. Their process was super professional and everyone was so informative as far as choosing paints etc. The end product was top quality workmanship finished in just 1 day! I would definitely hire again.

    Flanagan Contracting Inc
After trying to find the right contractor after a horrific previous experience I found Jim Flanagan. My experience was amazing from the very beginning. Jim made me feel at ease and really listened to my needs. He was professional and knowledgeable. He always goes out of his way to meet all my needs and would help with great suggestions. His crew is great as well. He recommends highly experienced people; electricians, plumbers, etc. Jim will always help to resolve any issue or situation. He has made my projects pleasureable again. I continue to use him for future projects. Jim also has been very fair and reasonable with his pricing which is greatly appreciated! Im extremely pleased with all his work by him and his crew

At first it went well, demo crew came to our house took out cabinets and demo'd entire living room, dining room, kitchen area. After the demo was completed things took a drastic turn... There was no more crew, just the owner Cedric Scott - he says he is coming and does not show, does not answer calls or texts we sent. On a bright note when he did show up the work done is very good, electrical, plumbing, framing, etc.. but he only comes 3 or 4 hours and goes missing again. Payment after payment was made as requested (my husband is too trusting) and nothing is getting accomplished. We decided due to a conversation Cedric Scott had with my husband about some time issues he is having because of personal reasons to remove HVAC and DECKING from contract (which $$$ was given as deposits) asked for an updated contract still have not received. Work still not completed. Once again no show no call and we are in the hole for a ton of money (8k kitchen cabinets, 4k appliance and accessories LOWES (my next call, still have not received) 7k for HVAC deposit. And to top it off he asked to buy or old cabinets and large window AC to take to his "Motorcycle Club" and of course you guessed it never paid $$ for purchase (once again, my husband is too trusting). Had to hire a new HVAC person because Cedric Scott keeps saying tomorrow, tomorrow and no one ever shows. Had to hire someone else to do outside work as well. THE BEST PART of CEDIRIC SCOTT and TRI STATE CONSTRUCTION and REMODELERS, Deer Park NY is the sub contractor who does sheetrock work - he and his team our amazing. would hire them in a second. And the gentlemen who did our spray foam and security system both very professional, they should keep better company. I have been paying for a POD these past 3 months which is coming back this Friday and I have no where to put my things - Original Contract was $62500 after removal of HVAC and Deck new contract was for $35500 (never received update as requested) we have given him $43500 = $8k overage (thank you husband) we have an open invoice balance of $2050 - So he owes us in cash $5950. Plus Cedric Scott was to make final payment on our cabinets $8k (already paid to him) and pick up items at Lowes $4297.36 (already paid to him) what are the odds.... I am sure you agree slim to none. And to add insult to injury I am now paying other tradesmen to do the work he didn't complete. Hiring a contractor is one of the hardest things I ever did, I did all the right things, looked him up - called Consumer Affairs (another call to make Monday) and did a search on his license which came back clean with no disputes and I am still in this pickle. I now know why people do not renovate their homes, this is a nightmare.... that doesn't want to end date started 7.16.18 - TBD.....................

The job started out ok. Was always giving me the run around about it raining and being to hot to paint. We hired him May 23, we explained to him that it needed to be complete by 6/18 because we had my sons party in our backyard. But it was not. They would take days off, and just come up with lies everyday, very childish and unprofessional. Perfect days and they wouldn't show up. It took a month of a job that was to be finished in a week. And still has not been done. He was paid at 100%. Told me he would come back to finish, 1) trim around garage, 2) kids playhouse roof 3) other odds and ends that were not completed. 4) gutters were never clean This is all stipulated in contract.

He has not finished and was paid 100% because he was so adamant about getting paid and that he would finish. Has not returned phone calls, We have no choice but to sue him. He said he was on Angie's List, and that he's too on it which is BS, that's why we went with him. His overall work ethics were horrendous! Please DO NOT display him as an A+ as now I need to pay a lawyer and send him to court. I honestly just want the job complete. He does not answer calls, emails, texts, very unprofessional. He's a crook!

    Charles Thomas Construction
They showed up on time and started working in an organized manner as to what needed to be covered and what to start on first. They opened up the inside wall to expose the wiring that they had to reroute, drained the boiler so they could reroute the hot water baseboard which was blocking the opening of where I wanted to put the door. After cutting through the wall and installing the header and framing the door went in perfectly.

    Green Apple Painting
Green Apple painting did an exemplary job. They arrived on time, Fredi gave me the choice of colors by showing me samples, the job took 2 days as he first stated it would. His worker, Jose was a very hard worker in spite of extreme temperatures, humidity and the discovery of a honey bees nest under the shed that needed painting. They truly extended themselves to make sure we were satisfied with their work.

    Home Magic Renovations
Henry and Jim from Home Magic did an excellent job redoing a full bathroom at our home. Our full bathroom needed to be transformed due to leaking of our toilet and shower. Henry and Jim were able to gut the entire bathroom, improving the integrity of the subfloor, in addition toremoving and replacing and water damaged materials. They then were able torebuild the bathroom in an efficient manner, moving seamlessly through applying the appropriate sheet rock for the tub and walls, spackling, applying tiles, painting, and then finally applying all of the fixtures. Henry was able toexplain the process step by step, enabling us to truly understand the process in its entirety.Henry was able to guide us on different fixtures, types and size of tile, paint, and grout to purchase. In particular, Henry was able to acquire a good exhaust fan to use for our bathroom, one that would be powerful yet quiet enough to draw the moisture out of the bathroom. That was greatly appreciated it.Henry and Jim werevery respectful in keeping the areas they had to travel through clean, protected our wood floors and staircase everyday, and cleaning up after each and every day.
Gina, Henry's assistant, was also very helpful in providing quotes and other information ina timely manner. She was very instrumental in the process of acquiring an appointment initially with Henry, and providing quotes for the project and adjusting them as needed.
I would recommend Home Magic for those looking for a fair price, good craftsmanship, and reliable and dependable contracting.
