Auto Service reviews in Cortland

It took a couple times to identify and fix the problem but they were very accommodating and professional. The previous month they perform some great body work after an accident and they loaned us a very nice Nissan Rogue. We bought our Nissan Altima from them and will return to probably buy a Rogue from them.

The female customer service representative was very professional and conveyed the problems in simple layman's terms. I thought we would have to spend money on a new camper but they identified the problem was with our truck's electrical connection. The cost was mostly related to our truck's brakes and electrical repair but not our camper, as I expected. We were able to get yet another few years out of our camper.

They are very honest and they were recommended to me by someone I knew who said they were good. The work I get done there I think it’s reasonable.  I have been going there for at least 5 years. I have always had good service from them.

Kost Tire And Auto Care Centers - Cortlandville
I used the one on Tompkins Street. They get us in when they can and I think the price is reasonable. They took the car in last night and got the job done by noon today. My experience with them was great.

    Tallmag Automotive
They specialize in tires. They always schedule me in and say what they say they are going to do. They also do full service automotive and they always have the car ready when they say they are going to. There are no surprises.

I came in with the intention of having the exhaust system evaluated and requesting an oil change. The manager, Jamie, welcomed me upon entering the shop and took down my concerns. It was an extremely pleasant atmosphere in the customer area, a lot of friendly banter between customers and customers and the staff. This is very unlike what I experience when I take my car for repairs at the dealer or other establishments for a scheduled oil change. I was asked if I was going to stay and wait while the repairs took place or leave. I opted to stay. Tom, the service technician, brought the car into the bay to evaluate the exhaust system. He came out to ask me if I was having trouble with my brakes. Since it is a standard, I really don't use the brakes that much, mostly I down shift. So, I really didn't have a good answer for him about the condition of the brakes. I did have them replaced awhile ago and couldn't remember when. He showed me the exhaust system and what I needed to replace. It looked like a rusted mess and one of the clamps was in really bad shape. I was just fortunate I didn't loose the muffler and pipes on the road. Then he showed me the rear brakes. I needed rotors as well as pads. He did me a huge favor being so thorough in his inspection because this was definitely a safety matter. When I had the brake work done by a local shop, they did not use exactly the correct rotors so there was a strange lip that formed. Tom just showed me what happened matter of fact without making a negative comment about the previous work done by my local shop. There was considerable rust under the rotors and on the rotors themselves. Well, both Jamie and Tom assured me they would get right to work on the car after I read the proposal and signed the authorization for work. My husband and I then went to lunch near by. We returned and they were still working on the car because they had to send for the pipes from their supplier. While we waited in the customer area we alternately talked to other customers or the technicians when they popped in from the work area. As I mentioned before the atmosphere of this place is great and friendly. I would have to attribute that to the excellent working relationships that the employees have with each other and it just spreads to the customers waiting. After the exhaust and brakes were fixed, I had an oil change. I only use synthetic oil because of the age of the car and the fact that I would like it to last for at least another 100,000 miles. When all the work was done Tom took it for a test drive. We paid the bill and took off to pick up dog food at our vet not far from the shop. We noticed a noise upon turning that we didn't have before so we headed back to the shop. Tom test drove it again and put it back in the bay to take the right rear wheel off to check the brake. There was still some rust that would eventually work itself out but he removed it for us and reassembled the right rear wheel. He took it for another test drive and was pleased with the result. He thanked us for the business and we were on our way. Absolutely no more noise on turning. I was extremely pleased by the service and attention to detail. I will definitely return for any future work. Besides being very professional the staff are just really nice human beings and a pleasure to deal with.

    Monro Muffler Brake & Service
Overall it went fine. I went to Monro because I had coupons for both the oil change and inspection and they were both honored. I brought my car in at 11AM and was told it would take one hour, it took about 90 minutes. My car checked out fine and they did not try to sell me additional unnecessary repairs. Two items to note: a tire rotation was included with the oil change, and I asked them to leave the front tires on the front since they are newer and have better traction in the snow. They said that was no problem, but as I was watching through the window I saw them moving the front tires to the back. I walked into the garage and asked them again not to switch the tires, and they put them back for me no problem. But if I had not been watching I would not have been able to do that. The second is that my cabin air filter is long overdue for being replaced, and the only reason it wasn't replaced at my last oil change is that it was out of stock. I fully expected them to replace it but they never mentioned it. As I was in a hurry and got my car back 30 min. later than expected, I did not mention it, but it makes me wonder how carefully they were checking everything. Overall the experience was fine, the price was reasonable, and they were courteous. I would not have a problem returning but will continue to look for a better place for my regular oil changes.
