    Federal Conservation Corp
Project was completed during the later part of the summer of 2016. I have noticed a substantial increase in the efficiency of my home's ability to retain cool air when we ran the house HVAC system and retain heat as colder weather arrived.

Workers used my equipment (vacuum, shop-vac, hammers, drop-cloths, saw, screwdrivers and others). The shop-vac and the vacuum were useless after that. There was some heavy dust from work on foundation of home that they cleaned up with my vacuum and shop-vac. I kept coming home to find more and more of my tools being used? Even after telling him no, still going on. He told me he would pay for the shop-vac, but he never did. Instead it was a bartering tool to get someone in to finish the last window (see below).
He had to come back three times to finally get last window installed - some 3 months later. And... low and behold that window now doesn't open any more. Crap product, or shoddy work?
His initial visit to our home was prolonged by him telling me he did work on Donald Trump's home, long story teller. I should have been flagged right there, but shame on me.
HIs initial quote did not give an estimate as to when work would be done. I asked him about that and he said 'you'll have to trust me, I own't screw you.' But he did. The work was verbally quoted to be done in 2-3 weeks. It took over 2 months - 4 months if you invlude that last window.

This was the first time my wife and I hired someone to work on the home. Just like them and others who have given us these same stories... his mother died during construction, his worker got into an auto accident and he himself was rushed to the hospital with a heart problem. I think every construction guy's mother dies on every job; just to extend the work schedule.
    .
    He was a professional scammer.
    .
Anyone who would like to come visit my home to see his lousy work is welcome. I wouldn't hire him to cut my rose bush. Not trust worthy and hardly there. Drops the workers off and disappears.

    I lived and learned.

They were able to identify several issues with the insulation and air infiltration.  Nothing that I wasn't aware of myself, but it was good to have the validation.  They offered services to improve the insulation, but at the time I was not able to engage them.  I would definitely consider them in the future.

J C Home Care Center Inc
I have been looking for an insulation company for an immediate fix. We had no insulation in the attic and our ceiling was registering temperatures close to 100 degrees, which did not help our new air conditioner cool our home efficiently. I had 4 companies come to give quotes ranging from $1500-$6500. Other companies added many expenses that were included with JC Home Care. They showed up for the estimate on Saturday and were able to install on Monday. Quick, clean and professional. They were negotiable with price (especially when using cash, and being flexible with installation time). Responsiveness was graded as a B because it took them about a week for their first estimate opening, but they were very quick after that. They also included an attic fan at a fraction of the cost of other companies. It is unfortunate people are giving lower grades because of the misunderstanding of their coupons, people need to research and realize there is no way to insulate a home for less than $500.

    Mike's Handyworks Inc
I called Michael and made an appointment to see the house. Michael was punctual and friendly.
He gave us an estimate, which we felt was fair and warranted.
He returned on the day and time that he and my mother had agreed upon in his truck, which was well-stocked with equipment and also the necessary insulation and plywood. He finished the work in about 2 hours, start to finish. He also noticed that my mother's smoke detector in the basement was in need of a new battery; he replaced it and reinstalled it.
It's not easy finding someone reliable and reasonably priced to do this kind of job; a good handyman is exactly what we needed. Also knowing that he is a nice person helped since my mother is quite old and doesn't have too many visitors aside from family.
The job was completely finished, though I thought the insulation was kind of bunched up in there when I looked at it. But there is no longer a draft coming in (and the insulation replaces some old towels and socks we'd used as a temporary measure; much better!).
We do now also have extra insulation left over to use elsewhere in the basement.
I would definitely call Michael again for my mother's house or my own home.

    Green Audit USA
Very unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment for Green Audit USA to give me a second opinion and competitive bid on the recommendations another company had given me. An hour after the scheduled appointment I called to find out why no one had shown up. The owner, Jay, knew nothing of my appointment, but agreed to come right over. Turns out that Sean, the guy who booked it, never wrote it down (nice). Jay was nice enough, surveyed the situation and walked my house. He took the competing proposal and promised he would get back to me in a few days. I told him time was an issue since the LIPA rebate program was changing to a lower incentive by year's end and that I wanted to make a decision ASAP. That was several weeks ago, and to this day, I never heard back from them. Jay had two phone numbers and my email address. It was a complete waste of time and I never got my second opinion. I would have called another company if I knew that was going to happen. Even if they couldn't accomodate me, the courtesy of a phone call would have been appreciated. If this is how they treat all of their customers, I don't expect them to be in business much longer.
