Home Remodeling reviews in Clifton Park

    Kitchen and Bath World Inc
We visited Kitchen & Bath World of Albany, NY in May of 2017 as we were planning to remodel our kitchen. We met designer Emily LaRose and she was professional and welcoming. After meeting with Emily we decided to have her come to our home to take measurements and provide a design. Emily visited our home and again was very personable and professional. We visited the design center one more time to review Emily's design. The renderings were detailed and professional. We decided layout was to our liking and we would go forward with the design. As we had also planned on installing hardwood flooring prior to the kitchen remodel we asked Emily to include flooring in the design quote. When the quote was complete we met with Emily again to go over the numbers. At our next meeting we reviewed the quote and the portion for the flooring was quoted at almost $25,000.00. We were very shocked as I knew that price was far above what approximately 1000SF of moderately priced oak flooring would cost installed. We declined that offer and contracted with another local company that installed the floor for less than half that price. I will add the floor is beautiful and properly installed without a space or squeak even in this dry month of February. You'll see why I mention that shortly. At this point we should have said no to the entire project, thanked Emily for her time and left. Needless to say we contracted to have them install our new kitchen, agreed on a start window and paid a deposit. Before proceeding I'll state now that we love the design and everyone who has seen it likes it as well. Also in order to meet our budget we would handle the demo of the existing kitchen, electrical and plumbing preparations. For Kitchen and Bath World this would be an easy remodel in place project. We were given a start window between August 14 and September 4, 2017. August 14 came and went without a call from KBW. I waited a few days then called them. Of course I was given the spiel about we gave you a start date range. What I didnt expect was the condescending tone and the feeling that I was being a bother. The relationship did not improve from there. During the installation of the cabinets I noticed quite a few of the miter joints on the doors had gaps. When I pointed this out they said it was because wood is a natural product. After some discussion they agreed to replace the doors. When I noticed another door warped the same discussion took place and I needed to insist it be replaced. I will also note in the very beginning our design consultant said she would come visit and check on how things were going. Once we paid our deposit we never saw her again. I had an occasion to contact them again in January of 2018. I emailed the design consultant with a picture of the crown molding installed at the top of the cabinets separating and drooping in one corner. As was typical I did not hear back and needed to call. They are trying to tell me it has seperated due to the dry weather. Remember my comment about the hardwood floor? The floor was installed in August during one of the most humid times year. Presently the floor has no squeaks or gaps due to the dry February weather. This is not a gap due to dryness. It is due to poor workmanship. They told me if they come now to fix it and it separates again they will charge me for another visit. She told me call back in May. I fixed it myself. A couple of pin nails is all it took. In my experience Kitchen and Bath World does not care about its customers. Once they have your money theyll do everything possible to finish the job without concern of customer satisfaction. Its really too bad as I would have recommended them to two friends as well as considered them for our master bath remodel.

Matt and his team did an excellent job. They paid attention to detail. It was fascinating to watch installation of the cabinetry - much like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Matt answered all my questions with patience. Because we have a reactive dog, we had to retreat to our four season room to keep her away from the center of activity. This required that Matt give us a heads up every time he or a team member was going to enter the house so we could retreat, which he did with a smile. Costs include cabinetry and addition of the electrical box.

    ReBath of Albany
they installed the bathroom over 3 full days. there were 3 different leaks with the toilet and two different sinks. knobs were not delivered with the bathroom cabinets. Grout in the floor was not done correctly in one spot and the grout buckled. The cabinets were ordered at a higher height than the old cabinets and a full wall mirror was broken during the install. Even though the mirror was replaced at their cost it was 4 weeks before all repairs were completed.

V&S did a great job. I've waited to write this review to see if there were any problems. Everything is great. They gave us a good price. The work was done timely and professionally. Sergey is very friendly and the same goes for all the men that worked at the house. I would definately hire them again.

We couldn't have hired a better contractor. Limitless Plb & Htg does outstanding work! Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are 2nd to none. We are completely satisfied with the work done and I would strongly recommend them from a simple faucet repair to a complete remodel. If you need any plumbing or heating work done, do yourself a favor and call Limitless P&H. They'll do a great job at a fair price. You won't be disappointed.

Fabulous. Kitchen looks great. They did a wonderful job. Even the guys who installed the counter tops complimented the carpenter who installed the cabinets. Very nice, professional, prompt, and attention to detail made this worthwhile. Impressive. They cleaned up at the completion of work every day. High level of expertise and capability. We would hire them again.

The work was shoddy, with trim constantly falling off. My kitchen sink cracked, and they say I'm on my own. They do not stand behind their work, and have been no help with repairs. Before the sale, they can't do enough for you. Afterwards, they don't remember your name. Stay away!!

I could not say enough about how wonderful they all were. I would recommend them to anybody. They really cared. I had picked out a countertop and I was talking to one of the owners, thats Pam. I was talking to Pam about what I was doing with the kitchen. It's a Cambria countertop, which is not cheap. She called me back a couple of days later and she said, I went to a party last night and they had the counter top that you asked for. I dont think its what you want! I said, what do you mean? She said, Theres a lot of blue in it! I wanted the kitchen red. If she had not called me and just ordered it, what would I have done? I would have had to swallow the cost. When I picked out the cabinets, I had to pick out the style of the cabinet, the wood I wanted on the cabinets, the finish I wanted on the cabinet and the color. I did all of that and again Pam says to me, that sounds really nice, heres a door in exactly what you want. Take this home, put it in your kitchen, look at it all day long. Well, inside of 12 hours I hated it. In my kitchen, it looked totally different. It has to do with the lighting, the time of day, its just, it isnt what I wanted. Because, she was she let me take that home I was able to change my mind. A lot of people dont do that. They were fantastic, I cant say enough about them. They timed everything so like when you are having a new garbage disposal put in, you need an electrician & a plumber. As the plumber was walking out, the electrician was walking in. There was no time delay at all, there was no time wasted anywhere. I would recommend them.

I can not say enough about how wonderful they were. They took down all the cabinets. They took down some of the walls. They removed the sink. They did everything. They redid the ceiling, the walls and molding. They put up new cabinets. They redesigned the kitchen with a much better design. They extended the island. They put in new counter tops. They did the electricity and plumbing. I would recommend them to anybody! They would get A+ if I could.Their work is meticulous. I would definitely use them again. They really cared. I had picked out a counter top and I was talking to one of the owners, Pam, and told her what I was doing with the kitchen. I had pick a Cabrera counter top, which is not cheap. She called me back a couple days later and said she had gone to a party and they had the counter top you asked for and I don't think it's what you want. There is a lot of blue in it. So I did all of that and Pam says to me, here's a door in exactly what you want, take this home and leave it in your kitchen. Look at it all day long. Inside of 12 hours I hated it. In my kitchen it looked totally different. It has to do with the lighting and time of day. It just wasn't what I wanted. Because she let me take that home, I was able to change my mind. A lot of people don't do that. Mike, the other owner, gave me his cell phone number. About a year later, I couldn't get one of the cabinet drawers to close. I called Mike. He came over on his lunch hour removed the cabinet, took the spice out that was blocking the drawer, and put the cabinet back in. There was no time delay as the project was going on. No time was wasted anywhere.

    Atherton Painting & Construction LLC
I contacted Atherton Painting and Construction January of this year 2017 for some estimates on multiple projects throughout my home. James promptly contacted me back and scheduled an appointment at my convenience for estimates. I received free estimates for all of my projects that I was thinking about completing this year. After obtaining at least 2 other estimates, I chose Atherton for their fair estimate and good reviews here on Angies list. My roof needed to be replaced and was scheduled within a few weeks. It was estimated to take about two days at the most the job was completed in a day and half in February of 2017. The crew and foremen were professional and cleaned everything up after the work was done. I was very happy with the results and the final cost was very close to the original estimate. (The foreman even warned me about a tree that could possibly fall on my roof and was able to cut down the tree for me at the same time.) In April of this year Atherton completely gutted and remodeled my full bath and half bath along with tiling my family room. The project took less than two weeks for all three rooms. Mark, who was in charge of the project, along with Damien were great they were professional and worked efficiently; went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the final results. I love my new bathrooms and my tv room is completely transformed with the new tile. Again, the final cost for all of the projects was well within the original estimates. James followed up with me several times to go over any questions I had during the renovations and called me when the project was finished to make sure I was completely happy with the end results. I would recommend Atherton Painting & Renovation for any of your home project needs.
