"He hung protective sheets over everything around the tub area. He cleaned out old caulk and repaired any imperfections in the tile. He then applied about six" layers of porcelain glaze. The spray gun is quite loud so it would be wise to use ear protection while he is spraying.

"Short version: great work, great employees, I'd use them again. Long version: the area right next to the drain of our iron bath tub had slowly rusted out and" a leak developed. Several contractors I emailed said that the only option was to rip out the tub (which also requires ripping out tiles adjacent to the tub), which -- as you can imagine -- is an expensive (several thousands of dollars) and multi-day project. After extensive googling, I found
, and am glad I did. Why? (1) professional/"squared away" -- returned calls promptly, provided detailed written estimate (2) personnel -- the guys I dealt with in person (one was TJ and I forget the other guy's name) were professional, courteous, worked efficiently, and left the workspace clean. (3) fair price -- obviously a lot cheaper than replacing the tub...I don't know of anyone else who offers the same sort of repair service, so I can't give and apples-to-apples comparison, but I was fine with the ~$900 cost. (4) Quality results -- tub looks great, so far the repair has held up 110% aok. (I will update this review if anything changes on that front). The only heads-up I would provide -- and PTR did alert me to this ahead of time -- is that after the work is done, there are strong fumes that remain for ~24 hours. So make sure to have fans to vent the work space!! Do not underestimate how strong the fumes will be!! :-) TL;DR: I never write reviews, but was so favorably impressed with these guys I thought it was only fair to do so. Excellent work, good price, good service, good employees.

Bathtub refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

Pat is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of coming in contact with, and a great sense of humor. He was extremely professional, came in did the job cleaned up and left. The tile and bathtub he glazed looks brand new and beautiful. Everyone that saw it was impressed with the finished product, as I am. Very happy with my decision to use

, and would recommend Pat to anyone. Thank you again Pat.

scheduled a date for service, they pushed it out 2 weeks, when he finally did come was told I needed a patch for the tub and it would take a week to a week & 1/2 before he would get is. 3 weeks later after calling several times he finally came back and put the patch in then had to wait another week before he came back to refinish the tub.
I was charge for him to come to my area, which on my contract there was nothing that stated that but he still charged me.
When I bought the package it was suppose to include the non-slip, but he didn't want to do it and said the patch that was add is non-slip enough; which was a total lie. The tub was more slippery then it was before this all started and a family member fell because it was so slippery. His fix for the slippery tub was to go on Bed Bath & Beyond and BUY a mat - spend more money since he didn't put the non-slip stuff on the tub.
After he completed, a couple weeks later the patch was coming up on the sides, so I called him for the next 2 1/2 months, twice I actually talked to him and he stated he would call me back with a time he would return to fix; each time I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. After 2 & 1/2 months of calling and leaving messages and NEVER getting a return call, I gave up.
I was very disappointed with this company, when I first met him I thought this was going to go really well, but that was totally wrong.

First of all, before anyone balks at the price for our job, let me say that it was a lot more involved than most. Two bathrooms, lots of tile surfaces, and we wanted to use multiple colors in a somewhat complex way. But look at it this way: 5 days, less than $5000, 2 fantastic bathroom makeovers. Boom! (My daughter and I are following up with the painting and accessorizing ourselves, probably putting the whole job at around $6000 for two 'looks like new' bathroom makeovers.)

came to do the estimate. He was very thorough, listened well, was patient with color indecision, and wrote up everything accurately and completely in our job order/quote. He answered our questions and explained how our job would progress, so that we would only have one bathroom out of commission at a time and so that each color had time to dry before an adjacent color needed to go on. Our job was scheduled for a couple of weeks later. Pat was our installer, apparently because he was experienced with the larger projects. That man was a working machine! He worked fast and non-stop for the full five days he was here, the last day being particularly long to make sure he left everything just as I wanted it. He was scrupulous about laying drop cloths and taping up plastic to protect my home from drips and overspray. I even teased him about how much plastic he laid and hung in areas of my bedroom that didn't seem close enough to the bathroom door to be in

. (Even so, a bit of overspray found its way through, which
Clifton Park Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
, who was backing up and supervising Pat, happily came to remove.) This work is messy and stinky and physically demanding, with steps and layering that has to happen on a precise timetable. Pat kept at it without let-up except for a planned lunch break or an occasional unplanned break when something took longer than expected to dry, and was pleasant and considerate the whole time. This even though he began and ended each day with a commute in heavy traffic from Boston to New

! Everyone I dealt with directly or even spoke to on the phone conveyed extreme pride in their product and their professionalism, with good reason. I love the results!! (I will post pictures, but I do not work as relentlessly as Pat, so it will be awhile before I get the painting, etc. done.)

was fantastic!!! I really cannot believe I waited this long to do this, he did a perfect and clean job, he was very professional and friendly and I am so happy with the job! you cannot tell that unit was a giant eyesore before

Overall, they were easy to work with: punctual, professional, on time, and, for the most part, the workmanship was outstanding. Unfortunately , the base was either subject to a manufacturing flaw or poor installation as it does not drain properly. The slop is off, so a rather sizable and annoying puddle forms while showering and does not drain completely. In fact, if I don't squeegee it out, it remains for days. The installer did return to evaluate but essentially blamed it on the poor construction and uneven concrete slab under my first floor and said they could do nothing.
On the whole, I'm very happy with the shower stall and its functionality. But be sure to test the performance before signing off on your job.

Could not have asked for more! Would give an A+++ on every aspect of service. Called late on a Friday, received a return call early on Monday and
Clifton Park Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was completed the next day due to a cancellation by another customer. The results are spectacular! We went from an old tub that had been refinished about 10 years ago and had several surface chips and poor caulking to what looks like a brand new tub!

and his assistant were meticulous, covering every surface to avoid residue, padding our wood floor in the hallway, using a powerful exhaust fan to vent odors and cleaning up afterwards.. They were prompt, courteous and clear with instructions on allowing the new surface to dry. We had been planning to buy a new tub, but are so happy that we had it reglazed instead at such a reasonable price. Cannot recommend

highly enough!

The individuals from
Clifton Park Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
did some excellent short notice repairs on my master bath tub. I noticed about a month ago that the tub was leaking down into our half bathroom, a floor below and within a week
Clifton Park Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was able to set up a date with me to have a template made for the inlay, and have it installed two weeks later. Since the crack wasn't where the inlay would be installed, the team also conducted a repair to the leak/crack area, and used foam to add increased support to the weak spot the crack occurred in.
Clifton Park Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
contacted me himself to walk me through the process prior, and even sent a video of what the inlay would look like. The install and repair only took a few hours and upon completion, the team gave direction on how to properly care for the new inlay and repair.
Thank you again for the great work!
