Interior Painting reviews in Clay

  • Mike was professional with good attention to detail throughout the process. Trustworthy and knowledgeable. His reply to my request to take a look at our job was prompt - he came over the same day I called. He was able to fit our project into his schedule quickly and it was done within a week of our initial contact. Mike was patient and responsive to all the "...would you mind..." comments I made throughout the process. His work is seamless; looks as if it has always been there (exactly what we wanted!!). The attached picture shows after Mike's patching and sand-painting (disregard the four little dots on the ceiling - reflections from my phone's camera). Throughout the process, Mike was kind and gave me helpful pointers as I was continuing with DIY projects in my kitchen re-do. He was great with my two young kids who were in and out during the time he was in our home. The work he was doing was dusty and messy, but Mike was relentless in his clean-up...We were very pleased and thankful for the work he did and would highly recommend him (and have referred him to family and friends)! This was the second sheetrock/drywall work he did in our home (we finished our basement a few years back in 2013 and he taped/mudded for us) - if we had more, we'd certainly call him again.

  • Tim knew that we were let down by our previous painter who failed to show.  He came out for a free estimate and was willing to rearrange his schedule to fit us in the very next week. He showed up exactly as promised and painstakingly worked until both rooms were done!  Tim's attention to detail and quality of work are exactly what we were looking for.  From the moment you meet him, you will feel comfortable leaving him alone in your home to do the work.  We came home from work to two perfectly painted rooms.  If you are looking for a trustworthy, meticulous painter who is fairly priced, you can't go wrong with Tim.

  • Great experience!  On time to provide a quote and did so quickly.  Initially thought the job could be completed in one day but after removing the second layer of wall paper he decided to let the walls dry thoroughly and preferred to finish the painting the next day, but he did patch and smooth the walls before he left.  Returned the following day at the time we had discussed and ended up doing three coats each of the top color and bottom color (above and below chair rail).  He indicated he bought a high quality paint that should do the job in two coats, but since the paint we selected was not a high coverage color, he decided to do a third coat which we were very appreciative of.  Very personable, clean and we are so pleased with the final product.

  • She was professional from the beginning and all the way through the project.  It was a pleasure working with her and she quickly tackled the task.  She even cleaned up every scrap of wallpaper and left the room tidy.  She performed a very meticulous and thorough job even making sure all glue was removed and the walls ready to be painted the next day.  On the 2nd and final day of the project Lynn even brought a chew treat for my dog.  I would hire her again in an instant and highly recommend her.  She goes above and beyond and does great work, quickly and at a very reasonable charge.

  • The work that Modern Home Tech did at my house was outstanding. They were on time each day and when they left at the end of the day there was no mess. They provided knowledge of the construction and if there was a better way than I wanted with the same results. Ted, Dan and Mike made every effort to complete the job on time and to the high quality that I require. There is no question that I would use them again and would give their name to my friends.

  • I hadn't been inside my father's townhouse in 22 years. He lived in Clay, New York, I live in Ohio and he always came to our house for visits. I never really questioned why he never invited us to his home until he passed away suddenly in April 2013. Before we left Ohio to handle the funeral arrangements it was decided that we would stay at my father's house instead of a hotel so we could go through his papers and find information regarding his estate.
When we arrived at his house, we quickly discovered that it would be impossible, and even unhealthy, to stay there. The floors were covered with garbage, boxes and filth. It appeared nothing had been cleaned in many years. Everything imaginable was damaged or so dirty that it had to be replaced so we knew we'd have to renovate the entire place from the ground up. This included damaged, water-stained walls, every bit of flooring, two toilets, two vanities, a tub, bathroom tile removal, damage to the garage drywall, all ceilings, tree and shrub removal, removing a deck, regrading the yard, and kitchen counters, We also knew that we'd have to find someone who would be trustworthy enough to work with from 6 hours away and on a tight budget. We just wouldn't be able to drive by and check up on the work.
We scoured almost every name on Angie's List and called them. We met three contractors face to face for estimates with varying degrees of success. All were higher than we could justify spending, two were very slow responding to phone calls or emails (one took ten days getting us an estimate), At our wits end, we called Pat Burdick with less than high hopes. Our schedules wouldn't allow us to meet in person, but he agreed to have the neighbor let him in so he could do the estimate. My husband indicated that it would be foolish to hire someone we hadn't met face-to-face, but we were running out of options. When we hired him we gave him free reign to do things however he wanted as long as we didn't have cost overruns.
Pat Burdick knows the time and cost involved almost immediately. He understands having to work within a budget and a specific time frame. He charged 20% less than anyone else, but did 20% more. He did many extra things that weren't included in our agreement - he built up a counter between the kitchen and living room to be an eating area and installed lights overhead, he replaced all the light fixtures, he replaced a shredded window screen, covered the entire first floor with wood laminate (we had planned for inexpensive carpeting), he sent pictures of the work in progress so we could see the improvements as they were happening, and he ALWAYS answered his phone or called right back. He was knowledgeable, upbeat and pleasant too. When I offered him more time to finish the project he insisted that he would have it done on the agreed day.
I am posting pictures of the and quot;before and afterand quot; to show you the amazing job Pat Burdick did. It is nothing less than stunning. It looked so good we were able to raise our selling price by several thousand dollars more than we expected.
Pat Burdick has a strong work-ethic, integrity and understands the meaning of keeping his word.

  • Despite being a one man crew, he got the job
done as quickly as a larger crew would have because of how hard he
worked. He was punctual, friendly, and extremely hard-working. He was
good with our dog and toddlers and never got annoyed or flustered when
they barked or cried. He was very respectful of our home. He was
quiet, listening to music in a blue tooth rather than blasting a radio.
He was thoughtful about the order in which he painted the areas, such
as painting the kitchen first so that we could get back to using it as
    soon as possible.
Bill listened to what our priorities were for
the project and helped tailor it to our budget. The finished product
looks great. We'd definitely use him again!

  • We thought  A Coat Above did a great job.  They were very friendly, and very easy to deal with.  They helped us make some decisions about what we wanted to do about the choices in the house.  I thought the price was one of the more expensive of the  providers.  I thought their professionalism was very good.  Yes, we would use them again.

  • It was a fantastic job. It was great. They were here over the course of two days and got all the work done that they told us they would. The painting itself was excellent. We haven't found any spots that they missed. They were very clean and cleaned up all their equipment very well. It was a very positive experience. They were a little more expensive than some other people we could have picked but the quality was worth it.

  • As noted above, the work performed was stellar. The paint job is uncomparible to others - even the "professional" painters who do it full time. He paints with no taping which makes completion quick (even two coats). The roof repairs/new go without further compromise especially with update weather.
