    Sunroom Additions & Improvements, Inc.
Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 13018828, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The plan was to do the entire job all at the same time. We did install the windows and the storm door just to stop her harassing phone calls. They are, by the way not cheap windows. They are replacement windows which are different than new construction windows which answers her complaint On April 9th I signed a contract with Butch Mrugalski who was their sales representative. He is just as responsible for this mess. I told him and Bob I needed the job done by July 4th. He assured me he did not see a problem. I gave a deposits of $6400. (I trusted the salesman. He sold a good game) Week after week I was told the architect did not have the plans. I then at least wanted my windows and storm door installed along with a screen door I had installed These jobs had nothing to do with the sunroom.and they had over over $6000 of my money. This was already over 6 weeks, I could have given the window contract to a different company, had better windows installed, better workmanship and not cost what he charged me. I have had other replacement windows in my home so I do have windows to compare to . I have attached pictures The first picture is all three windows. They are not small Each window measures about 40 x 80 The second blind is all the way up. I think they were not measured right and a piece of unfinished wood is nailed to the top of all three windows, and it is just awful to make up for the gap. It will be shown in the next picture. Picture 2 The windows were not finished with cove molding and you see the unfinished space between window framing and the outside framing plus the unfinished piece of wood at the top. The third picture is of the ripped blind. What purpose would I have to say his installer damaged it. It is not false. The blind was fine, it was after the installation it was ripped. Cant replace on for color problems, but all three will have to be replaced. They have to be closed before they are raised up. Not sure that was done. As per the last picture the storm door was not finished on the bottom and cannot be locked from the outside As far as the town, the way I recall ,to the beat of my knowledge, how the lawsuit came up, the salesman asked if I really needed the permit, I said yes I and other neighbors have a wetland problem with the town. There is a lawsuit pending I did tell him. How else would he have found out? I dont think that is something the town would discuss. I personally went to the town and according to them it is normal to ask for soil samples. By the way Bob was suppose to contact the town, and email me. He did not. What has that to do with the poor workman ship and the job not done in a manner. Is this his typical way of doing business, blame the home owners Yes he came to my house. By this time I was disgusted, from the shoddy work that was done, did not want him to do the sunroom. He assured me he would rectify the problem I did signoff since he assured me the problem would be fixed. Lesson learned Do not trust when they say they will rectify the problem and then spin it different I have a message on my answering machine . Basically he said sorry he did not have better news, but he will get back to me I had told hem I will go to the BBB, amount other agencies. I believe he said he would fight it. I The bottom line I entered this contract in good faith with the understanding all would be done by July 4th It is now September, and I did not have a sun room, to enjoy this summer. I had to call this company weekly to have the windows and storm door installed. I want to be issued a full refund for the job, since $5000, is inflated price to pay for three windows and a door The pictures really do not pick up how bad these windows are. If this is typical, for this company to leave a customer with the windows as they are., having to start over with bids for a sunroom , and now a whole summer is gone, and I did not have the room to use How can someone try spin the situation back to the home owner , is not someone I would want to do work for me.

    Northtowns Remodeling Corp.
I have relied on Northtowns Remodeling for my last several home repairs and improvement projects. Brian and his crew are honest, dependable people who do top quality work. For each project we've done, Brian responded immediately and had a quote ready quickly. This company does not try to sell you things you don't need, which is extremely refreshing. Brian will lay out all of your options for you, and help you find the best balance of cost vs. necessity. In fact, the quotes Brian gave me for each of these projects were all at least a little lower than other companies I called. Additionally, Brian kept in contact with me before, during and after the jobs were complete just to be sure I fully understood the process, and that I was happy with the results. This is practically unheard of these days! All of the repairs they made are beautiful looking, very solidly installed with high quality materials, and were done quickly. We couldn't be happier with the entire process. We will definitely be using Northtowns Remodeling for all of our future projects.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF, AND YOUR  STRESS LEVEL and DO NOT HIRE!!! In Oct 2015 we had a 700 sq ft stamped concrete patio put in by Bob and Al Broad and their team. They did show up promptly to do the job. When they finished there were drip marks of staining down the front of  one of the one stairs and all down the front of the patio itself. When I pointed it out to Bob, who went off the handle strongly telling me in a not so nice way that was all in my mind. Finally of 30 mins of belittling me, even appalling the neighbor( who was nearly 200 ft away and could hear him), because he was talking to me in such a manner, he attempted to fix the problem (it still wasn't to our liking, but at this point we just wanted to be done with him). When he was done he did admit that the drip marks were there and when I asked why, he said it wasn't done right. He told us that because of our trouble he would reseal for free in 3 yrs, because we wouldn't need it till then.  After he left my husband and I never used the patio, we were afraid to do anything to it, besides winter was coming. We never even cleaned the grass or the gardens around it leaving everything as is. WELL, not 6 months later after the snow was gone the entire patio was showing bald spots (no staining) and the entire patio had white spots through out. After contacting R Broad a few times, I was finally told by the person who answers the phone (that poor girl), that Al was out (they never told me they were coming or that they came) and he said that the patio was filthy and needed to be power washed. I explained it wasn't dirt that what the coloring looked like, but I cleaned it anyways, taking pics before, during and after and guess what IT LOOKED THE SAME. So the concrete experts (As Bob will tell you, there is no one better then him) can't tell the difference between dirt and flawed coloring in concrete. Finally Bob called me, which I cringed having to talk to him, because the customer is never right, he knows everything. He told me that all patios look like that, he is the best in the business and I was over reacting. Well if all his patios looks like that, let that speak volumes. He told me it is a simple touch up job and he hadn't even come out at this time to see for himself what was going on. I don't know how a 700 sq ft patio repair is a simple touch up?! I asked if he could please come look at it himself and that I wanted to be there to show him my concerns. His reply was "I have eyes, I can see what is going on". Funny, cause Al had eyes too and he claimed it was just dirt. He then told me that it must be our fault that we must have cleaned it too much, and since he doesn't live here he can't claim that we didn't. How'd he guess it, I was out there ALL OF WINTER cleaning my patio, cause I have nothing better to do. You can't have a simple conversation with this man, he over talks you and has an excuse for everything (and keeps telling you how great he is, and he is the best in the business), all I want is him to fix the issue without belittling me telling me I'm unreasonable, he doesn't even have to admit that they did something wrong, just fix it without blaming the customer!! I guess that's being too unreasonable in his eyes. Needless to say I couldn't take it anymore so I promptly contacted the BBB to file a complaint and guess what.... well Bob finally came out to look at our patio. I didn't even want to talk to him so my husband went with him to look at the patio. I can't tell you what the conversation was, only that all I could here is Bob yelling again, and my husband barely able to get a word in. I think he finally realized that he was scaring my son, so he sort of changed his manner. He called later saying that he would be out the next day to re-seal the patio so I could enjoy it for Mother's Day (a little late to be nice), however we had to power wash the patio ourselves. Well he did come the next day to seal. The coloring still doesn't look as rich as it did when it was first done, but I hope we are done with them forever!!!

    Dorner Decking and Renovations
Well the previous reviews are correct! From the first, Tim was very professional. He made a point to know my name and gave me a quick estimate of the job.  I changed my mind about the color of the railings and he was great about it and gave me a better price based on the color change (went from grey =$$$ to white=$). I chose a 16 x 22  deck, with skirting, and he had a great design which also had an area for my round table and chairs.
They came to the site a day early and finished in the promised amount of time. They cleaned up afterwards and even helped me move my furniture up on to the deck!!
Deck itself is beautiful and well built. I had him put lighting on the stairs and that was a definite plus. Makes it much easier at night to see the stairs. Oh yeah..he builds the deck with 12 " on center, not 16..and the price was still competitive.
Overall I would not hesitate to recommend Tim.   I had 4 quotes for this job and I went with him because of the great reviews and how he explained the building of the deck.
