Barry Best Seamless Gutters & Gutter Helmet
They had done a reasonable job at my previous house, a very large center hall colonial, and I expected the same at my much smaller, one-story home. I specifically stated that the downspouts were clogged and had to be removed and cleaned. That was not done, even though I was charged for it, because the gutter overflowed with the next rain. When I complained, the owner told me that it was the fault of the pipe that the downspout drained into and that she would have to have them tear out a portion of my driveway and reroute the drain pipe. Quite an expensive ordeal. Fortunately, a family member was visiting and double-checked the downspout for me. Gee, it was totally packed with leaves and debris. I am sure it was an oversight and that they wouldn't have intentionally tried to trick someone into a large expense. I am now working with another company with whom I can feel more confident.

    Iron Horse GutterWorks
I had contacted IronHorse late winter and had a estimate which I thought was very agreeable. Some communication problems, (not getting back to me in a timely manner) other than that everything went well.

    EJ'S CONTRACTORS
I called and talked to Ed Purcell, the one in charge.   I told him the roof was popping and crackling and I was afraid it would collapse.   I told him I had a small ranch house (it is1056 sq ft).   He said he would charge me $275.  I told him I just wanted most of the snow weight removed, not really down to the roof, and I was not concerned about the ice.   I was very happy that he and a helper arrived rather quickly, and before they started working I confirmed with Ed that it would be $275.   They did work quite a while, as there was a lot of snow, and the weather was brutally cold.   Ed knocked on my door and said they were through.  I looked, and snow had been taken off down to the roof but none over the top of my one-car attached garage.  (Roof was continuous over the house and garage.)    I asked why the snow over the garage had not been removed, and Ed said there was more snow than he expected and that my house was not small.    He talked rather angrily to me and raved about how he really wanted to go and ski, and his worker had been woke up to come here, etc., etc.  He said though that he would take the snow off the garage if I paid him $300 altogether.  I asked him if he might damage my roof because he was angry, and he reassured me that he would not.   It was very cold and there had been a lot of snow, so I told him OK.   They did take the snow off the garage.  As far as I can tell, they did a good job finally, but I am not able to inspect the back or sides of the roof or the house because of the snow in the yard.   Ed did apologize before he left for the way he talked to me.

Barry Best Seamless Gutters & Gutter Helmet
The estimator showed up when he promised and computed the estimate while here.  He was willing to answer lots of dumb questions about their installations and gutter helmet.  They left a list of references which confirmed they did a good job for them.  We decided to go ahead and use them.  They showed up on the date promised, quickly installed the gutters (removing and disposing of the old ones), and explained all about the gutter helmet.  They cleaned up their work area and was very efficient in the installation.  Since then, the gutters have worked without any issue at all, including some really intense rainfall (I went out several
times and looked during the rain and they were operating as expected).  We would use them again if we ever need gutters.

    Cedar Bay Construction Ltd
The roof was replaced as contracted. There was a need to clarify the placement of a vent and I was contacted and it was resolved at no extra cost. Cedar Bay was flexible to accomadate another improvment project I had in process.

    Campany Roofing Co Inc
3 weeks ago, July 2011, we cut into the attic crawl space to add central Air to the 2nd story and found that all of our sheathing is covered with mold.  Campany roofing put felt over all of the peaks that needed to be cut out for the ridge vent.  For 4 years there has been no ventilation in our attic space, none.  It is covered with mold.  The lack of ventilation now explains the ice d*** buildups we have had and also mold on our windows on the 2nd story.  This is all brand new construction and brand new windows.

We called Campnay right away and left voice mails for them to come out, no return calls, I used a different phone because we were sure they were screening our calls.  They answered and said they did not receive our messages.  I explained the situation and asked if the owner could call us back, this went on for another 2 weeks, with no call back.  Last week we received a call that they were sending an estimator out to look at it.  We were not home that day.  They will not reschedule and the owner has still not called us.  To date, we have had two Mold abatement companies come in and give us quotes around $5000 to remove the mold. We are waiting on test results to tell us if this is toxic or not.  One of the companies said our roof looked like the roof you would find in a 30 year old house not 4 yrs old.  Any reputable company would have contacted us and discussed what our options are to fix this.  They have not done that and I have to wonder how many other homes this sloppy workmanship was done on and the homeowners do not know yet..

    G & J Home Remodeling Co Inc
The whole experience went smoothly. I called Paul and within the week he came out and gave us a fair estimate for the sevices we requested. When the final bill came in it was exactly what he had quoted us--no surprises. He provided us with everything we needed to make an informed decision and stands by his company's work completely. The workers were meticulous. They worked one section of the roof at a time, taking care not to leave our roof exposed to the elements. They did an excellent job of keeping the work site clean. The most I ever had to do was sweep the deck off. They paid particular attention to not damaging any of our landscaping. They finished the job within a few days and the new roof looks absolutely beautiful. I would recommend Paul and G&J to anyone looking for a contracting company!
