Hospital Care reviews in Cheektowaga

  • Excellent service. In the Er they were so attentive that I felt like I was the only patient there. They did not mess around with diagnosing me, they did all the tests that should be done. I have a medical background, so I knew exactly what they should be looking for, but I never had to suggest anything. They monitored me closely until it was safe for me to transfer from ER to a room. i had very little sleep because they checked on me every hour(that is not a complaint, it's the way it should be.) The MD's and nurses kept me so informed that I never had to ask any questions. The staff was very friendly and professional. The food was excellent (you call in your order from an extensive menu and they deliver it within 30 minutes) It was my first time in the hospital so I was terrified, but they went out of their way to make things better for me. I can't say enough about them.

  • I went to the ER first. I was asked by a nurse, who had seen my heart surgery scar "how many bypasses?" I wasn't offended, but I thought it was unreasonable to ask or assume this considering I am a 24 year old male (and he knew this). The ER doctor (whose name I unfortunately forget - it was a female) was VERY GOOD, and she is one of the only good parts of my experience. She prescribed me medication that would have fixed my problem...that is if anyone had followed the order and given me the IV medication she had prescribed. I was subsequently admitted to the hospital. I requested a private room (they asked), and despite there being ample space on the floor, they gave me a shared room. One nurse woke me up from what little sleep I could get to take blood. She did a horrible job, and it was a painful process as she poked bones and tendons trying to find a vein. She also smelled funny and wasn't using gloves. Next, I waited all day to hear something, and finally they told me I would be released - then I would have to stay - then I would be released. After 4 hours of waiting (for nothing, the paperwork just sat), and talking to 5 different people who didn't know what they were doing, I was released. A few hours later, my symptoms got worse, and I went back to the ER. The nursing staff (same as the night before) treated me very poorly, and I got the feeling that they thought I was seeking drugs. This was not so - I was in pain. The ER doctor (again, same from before) was furious that I didn't get my medicine the night before, and she personally administered it (ending my pain in 30 minutes - this was a non-narcotic, non-painkiller drug she administered). I got re-admitted, and then was supposed to be seen by a specialist. Something slipped through the cracks, and I wasn't seen all day (even though the specialist was present on the floor all day), and I had to wait another night. I was finally seen by a specialist in the afternoon the following day, and they diagnosed me with a virus - they were wrong. I saw my usual specialist a few weeks later to follow up (this guy is in Syracuse and I trust him), and he had not received any of the reports from the other specialist despite me filling a request the day after my release (he received only the ER reports). Stay away from this place. The ER is high tech, and nice, but the staff aren't competent to be "saving" lives. The cardiac unit is horrible, and it's very unpleasant.

  • I like this hospital. I live within two minutes of the hospital and it is convenient. My brother has COPD and we were in the emergency with him all night. He was restless. Their care is very good here. We have had a couple of bad experiences with my mom and dad. We think that was due to the doctors but not the hospital. My husband passed out at the wheel while he was driving. We didn't know what it was and I took him here. They did tests on him and he was there for a week. They said it was his heart and that he needed a pacemaker. I don't think that's it. I think it was because of his diabetes. He is doing fine now. We have always gone to their emergency room. They are very good.

  • I like that they do not keep you waiting. They take you at or before your appointment time. They are courteous and personable. They keep you updated with your test results.

  • I had surgery luckily with no coplications.
Mostly friendly staff but they are spread too thin.
Would only go back because of surgeon.

  • They were polite. They treated with respect. They have pretty good parking facility. If there is a need, I would use their service again in the future too.
