    Joyous Journey Celebrations
Joanne was just fantastic! We wanted a very simple ceremony and we needed an officiant at the last minute. Joanne was both flexible and happy to help out! The ceremony was just wonderful - Joanne had written some vows for us that were perfect. Even though we hired her last minute, she still was well prepared for our day. She was thoughtful and caring through the whole ceremony. I can not stress enough how happy we are to have found her! I can't believe that we found someone so great who was willing to do a ceremony on such short notice. Add to that the fact that she had great vows and a very nice unofficial certificate prepared for us (what a great touch!), and we had the best officiant we could have asked for!! Thanks Joanne!

Bud's is a long-time local florist that really delivers! My daughter used them for her wedding & reception and was very satisfied with their work. They sat with her and listened to her ideas, went over all design options and flower choices, and between them came up with beautiful arrangements. My daughter wanted simple but beautiful and they managed to meet her expectations perfectly.   Their ability to overcome last minute problems is great - originally  we had planned to have the flowers in sand and water, but when they  were being put together it didn't look right and the sand wasn't  settling correctly. They immediately called my daughter and explained  the situation and together they came up with a perfect solution, rocks  instead of sand.   My daughter lives out-of-state, so almost everything was being done over the phone, and Bud's was more than willing to work this way.   Overall, Bud's was perfect to work with, and the flowers were fresh and beautiful and exactly as we had expected. We will continue to use  Bud's for all of our floral and greenhouse needs!

Meme's Florist did  my daughter's wedding at a resort in Upstate NY. From the first meeting to the final details, Bobbie was professional ,  friendly, and very reassuring. She took care of  everything we needed done. She helped us pick the flowers, and even delivered the wedding herself to all three destinations.  The flowers were so fresh and lovely, and the toss bouquet was just as beautiful as the brides.  You can tell that she loves what she does and wants every bride and groom's special day to be perfect.  We had a very large wedding and  Meme's Florist came in well below other local Florists estimates and at the same time had super high quality. We were so impressed we sent her a Thank You card and pictures of our wedding. When your daughter is getting married, you don't want to sweat about all the details. Meme's took the worry our of our floral needs and I must say, she was a darn nice person to deal with. I would send anyone to Bobbie with COMPLETE confidence.

They were very, very good. They had one photographer who did everything and she was phenomenal. If she was asked to take a video, she would do the video and at the same time she would take five photographs with their still camera.  So, she was very good at multitasking. She gave us a number of different choices to take the pictures. She gave us a number of choices as to how the background lighting was to be done and all that. And the quality of the pictures and the quality of the video was outstanding.

    Shannon DeCelle Photography
We received over 1500 photos on a DVD, professionally toned and manipulated, in color, black and white, and antiqued. Shannon is amazing! My daughter contracted with her for wedding and reception photography and she did not disappoint! Her eye for detail in getting the perfect shot/angle/lighting is perfect. She knows how to pose her subjects for the portrait shots, but she really has an editorial eye and her candid photographs are fantastic as well. As my daughter and her husband were looking over the photos, they were amazed at some of the shots - shots they never would have thought of were some of the best ones! She is a consummate professional and arrived on time, prepared, and very personable. My daughter recommends her highly to anyone who needs a photographer and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again if the need arises.

    The Arlington House
The reception venue offered a list of often-used caterers and when we received quotes from them, we were blown away at how expensive they were.  We were about to try to find another venue when they came back with one more quote - from The Arlington House. They should have started with them - everything was perfect, on-time, and affordable!  From the very first contact with the Chef-owner Ed Murray, we knew we had made the right decision. The price quote was so reasonable I was sure it was a mistake.  The TOTAL price, including tax and gratuity, was less than the starting prices of the other caterers.  And the food was AMAZING.  At the tasting, it was hard to make up our minds because everything was so delicious.  We ended up with a cocktail reception, adult and child buffet, and full bar the entire time.  After everything was said and done, it was a bargain we gladly would have paid more for.  The value was incredible. Among the amazing food that was served:  tomato and basil bruschetta on garlic crouton, lettuce-wrapped Thai chicken salad, duck spring rolls w/ plum sauce, teriyaki beef brochette with various sesame seeds, grilled chicken with baked brie and apples, New York Strip Loin, penne pasta w/ rose-cream, herb roasted red bliss potatoes, and mac & cheese and chicken fingers for the kid's buffet. The Catering Manager, Robert, was so helpful.  Everything was taken care of - every little detail attended to.  He had some food from the cocktail hour sent to the bridal suite so we could enjoy it, too.  There were refreshments waiting for us during our photographs.  They even made up plates for us so we didn't need to go to the buffet.  Anything we or our guests needed was immediately provided for.  Settling up at the end of the night was a breeze.  Everything was perfectly itemized and explained.  I can't stress enough how NOT stressful it was! Every single guest complimented the food and the catering staff.  EVERY SINGLE ONE.  In fact, my daughter's new Niece recently got engaged and she asked who we used at the reception! Bottom line, use The Arlington House for your catering needs.  You will NOT be sorry.  Don't need a caterer?  Visit the restaurant in West Sand Lake!  It's that good.  Go.  Run!

    Spider Web Farm Shires
At my daughter's wedding, the limo broke down, leaving the bride as well as the bridesmaids and  the father of the bride stranded at the main building at Birch Hill with no way to get to her wedding site, where the groom and guests were waiting on a 90+ degree late afternoon.  As we were scrambling trying to organize a few cars and sending the city bus (hotel shuttle) to go get them, the team from Spider Web Farm Shires (who had just dropped off a wedding party at the main building) volunteered a much more romantic and elegant option.  Not wanting to see a bride stranded, or arriving at her wedding in a city bus, they volunteered their services, and the wedding party arrived via an open carriage drawn by two beautiful clydesdale horses.  It was amazing and the carriage even matched the colors of the wedding!!  This is a business with a heart, and I want to thank them and recommend them to anyone and everyone!!

Not happy at all with this florist. My husband knows that when its time to get me flowers, go out spend a little extra and get them from a florist. Not the case here. I think the owners are just getting too old and not as into their business. The past 4 times he got me flowers from there, the flowers were droopy and just not fresh and alive. The presentation of the flowers was not goo either. Just not arranged well. Also he has them delivered to me. The florist always calls, and says we have flowers we are going to deliver to you, how do you get to your office. They have called with every delivery. Two problems with this. First the point of a delivery, is that it is a special surprise, you don't want the florist to call and say I have flowers to deliver to you this afternoon. Second we live in catskill, and I work an a main road. Seriously you couldn't figure out how to get there? I can understand if i lived in some off backroad. And they woman who delivers is just unprofessional, and seems like shes too old, and not in shape to up for the challenge of delivering flowers. I don't want to hurt my husbands feelings, but it time to tell him, just go to price chopper, or the walmart floral section and get the flowers. Better selection, better quality and better price. So disappointed with this place. Just received a delivery today. disappointed again.
