Excellent experience. Vinnie squeezes us in with just a couple hours notice in Good Friday/Passover afternoon. He was clear in his communication, easy to deal with, and efficient. Absolutely use him again.

    KMS APPLIANCE REPAIR, INC.
I was referred to KMS by Miele support to repair my ventilation hood.  Specifically, 2 of the 4 lights were not working and the grease filters were broken.  After coming to my home for a service call, Ken also identified that the motor was quite worn, despite it still working and that it may make sense to replace it (or to get a brand new ventilation hood - which unfortunately was not an option for us at this time).  Subsequently, he gave me a quote to fix the hood both with and without a new motor.  I followed up and requested that he order the parts to repair the hood and replace the motor and schedule a time to come and complete the repair.  For this, he charged me $110 plus tax for the service call which amounted to approximately $120.
This service call was performed on November 30, 2015 and my request to schedule the repair came within 2 weeks after that.  I didn't hear back after over a month (I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it was the holidays).  I started to call in January 2016 to followup and was continually given the "I'll get back to you, I think he is still looking for the parts" response from Donna.  Finally, during a call in late March 2016 (yes, 4 months later, after at least one call a week with the same response), I'm told that he can't find the parts and that I should look into replacing the entire hood.
I subsequently called Miele support again to ask about finding and ordering new grease filters so that I can figure out a temporary solution and was told that all the parts that were needed for the repair are available right away -- replacement lights, replacement grease filter, new motor.  I called back KMS (twice) and Donna gave me the final "explanation" from Ken on my last call with them that given my hood is an old unit, he can't take the risk of it "falling apart" and being sued by me so he will not do the repair.  This apparently occurred to him 1) 4 months after his initial and only visit, charging me $120 for a 10-15 minute visit; 2) after giving me two quotes for two ways to fix the unit; and 3) after telling me only a few days prior
that he can't repair it because he "can't find the parts" despite one call directly to Miele by me revealed that all the parts required for repair on this model are available.

I asked for a refund of the $120 in good faith given the length of time I was dragged along with either no or inconsistent explanations, but that request was swiftly denied.   I never once, in over 4 months, spoke directly to Ken as he refused to get on the phone with me to explain the situation and all my communication was through Donna (who, all things considered, was very patient with me, always took my calls and seemed to take my messages to Ken).   I rarely received a call back on my followup calls.  It got to the point where I had a recurring reminder to call KMS in my calendar.  Obviously, from the responses I laid out above, he was unwilling to follow through on a job and unwilling to provide a direct responses / explanation as to why.
He may be a capable repair tech (I will never know and cannot opine on) but the way I was dragged along for 4 months and treated while taking $120 from me for a 10-15 minute visit is completely unprofessional.  I assume he just ignored me hoping that I would go away eventually.
I would highly recommend that any user make sure you get Miele support to schedule one of their technicians directly rather than going through KMS (if you're looking for a Miele repair) or find a different authorized repair technician.  Ken may or may not followup and take your job seriously.  This risk is not worth the initial cost, the trouble, and time.  I've now lost $120 and 4 months that could have been productively used to determine how to get my ventilation hood fixed.

    Vinnie's Appliance Service Inc
Even though I called him up in a panic this morning and he was very busy, Vinnie squeezed me into his busy day.  He was prompt, courteous and cleaned up after the work was completed.
Dryer - It needed a new heating element and I wasn't sure whether to have him fix it or buy a new dryer as this one had been on the cheaper, no frills side. and I thought maybe it was at the end of it's usefulness. After some discussion, Vinnie told me that the dryer should still have some life left in it, so I had him fix it.
Garbage disposal - When I spoke with him on the phone about the symptoms, Vinnie suggested that I run some ice cubes down the sink and, if it didn't work, he'd fix that as well for an additional and reasonable fee.  But?his tip worked. Just in case, Vinnie listened to the garbage disposal and it's all good.
A happy ending all around. I would highly recommend Vinnie!

    Appliance Doctor
This company was called to service a Miele dishwasher.  The cost of repair to replace one hose was so high that I went online to research doing the job myself.  The replacement hose could have been purchased by me from an English source for under $10, plus approximately $15 shipping.  The cost quoted by this company was over $300 for the total repair.  When asked about the high cost of quote I was yelled at over the phone by the person who had answered the call.  I would NEVER recommend this company to

    Household Appliance Service
Lou contacted me right away when I called about repairing my dryer. He came the next day and determined that the dryer's drum needed to be replaced. He said he would look up the parts and get back to me.  I thought this was great and was so impressed with how quickly he came over to check out the problem. However, it was all down hill from here.  I had to call him several times and email the site to even get a response from him. When he finally called back, he said he was still looking up the parts.  This took 3 weeks? I called three more times to follow up with no response...needless to say, my dryer still isn't fixed and I will not be calling Lou back again. I would think that they would want the business or at least have the common courtesy to call customers back.

    WILLMAN SERVICE
Scott was great. He is extremely conscientious and honest and does excellent work for a fair price. We have used Willman 4 times and have been very happy each time. It took a little longer for him to be able to make an appointment for us this last time because he was rather booked up. I am not surprised he is in demand!

Central Appliance Parts & Service Inc
His quote to look at it was relatively cheaper than others, but I think he just makes it up in what he charges. He quoted me $261 for the part and $120 for labor. I only spent $298 for the dishwasher two years ago. I feel that they are over charging for parts. I called later to get the part # so I could find it online and order it myself, but they told me they would not give me the part #.

    SUBURBAN VACUUM CO
My Miele vacuum was not functioning properly, after more than a dozen years of steady use. The attachment storage compartment door had come off due to a collision with a set of hardwood stairs, and I couldn't get it to close completely, and then the power brush stopped working. The hose attach-point broke off, air started to blow out of the vacuum as I ran it, and the vacuum was no longer usable.

I was looking to replace the vacuum, but had forgotten how expensive (but worth it)  the Miele vacuums are. In a google search, I discovered Suburban Vacuum, and after reading some very positive reviews, decided to give it a try to have my vacuum repaired.  Am I glad I did!

Dan at the shop was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative, and promised a free estimate as to the cost of a repair, so that I might make a decision whether to repair or replace the vacuum. I chose to repair, especially since the cost would be reasonable and I would have my vacuum back.

When I picked up the vacuum two days later, it was not only repaired to like-new condition, but Dan had restored its appearance as well. The vacuum, once covered with scuff marks and paint, was polished to its original red gloss. I tried it out that night, and the vacuum truly works as it did when I first bought it. I am thrilled!

    Sears Home Services
If I remember correctly, we called Sears and they were here right away the following morning to do the repairs. The door actually had somehow become dented which was causing the shutting problem and making it unusable. They wound up being able to resolve the problem by adding a part to the machine to ensure the door would stay shut and not give us a problem in the future. It took them about an hour and a half to complete the job.

    GE Appliance Repair
I call GE because I really do not know who else to call in my area for appliance repairs. They are good. I figure they know their products since they make them. I think they sometimes could get to you faster than they do for refrigerator problems. I guess they probably get more calls on things like that than smaller things like microwaves. I had called them about my microwave and they were able to get to me like that day or the next day. Otherwise, I have no problems with GE.
