The entre job went very well! Bob organized all work with the contractors. Their work and the work he performed was always timely, clean and competitively priced. We are very pleased with the entire job and would definitely recommend In The Spirit to anyone!

The work was sloppy and she made a number of mistakes. She was nice, personable, and professional but what she says and what she does are two different things. I don't believe she has the necessary skills to install tile. It looked fine at first glance but after further inspection I noticed a lot of mistakes. The tile floor is not even and she offered to come back and fix it to my satisfaction but you would literally have to take everything out/ start over again to complete the work. I am not interested in having her come back out for any more work and don't want anyone else to go through what I did

Perfect! Bravo to Bob and his team. They deserve even more than an A for professionalism, timeliness, consideration and cleanliness! I knew, based on his popularity on Angies List, that I might have to wait a bit for a start date and I was willing to do that. I especially appreciated that the kitchen designer (Howard) was more than understanding when I made it clear that I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do or what would look good. He made an amazing design. I picked my cabinets from Creative Stone in Selden, as recommended by Bob & Howard, this is not included in the 'Approximate Cost of Service" that I quoted. (The price I listed was mainly for labor) I also chose quartz countertops. There were things not included in the price quoted, and Bob let me know what I needed to buy, so there were no surprises. He was pretty "right-on" with the amount of materials I would need and I went to work doing what I do best...Saving $$$...I purchased an amazing backsplash from Costco, and my floor from Home Depot--porcelain plank tile that looks like distressed wood and, wow it looks amazing!!. The cabinet hardware--also Home Depot. I went to Blackman's, as suggested by Bob for the sink fixtures and I am SO glad I did that! HUGE difference in quality--although a bit pricey..I was told I would have a start date in June (a few months from when he came to do the estimate) but in the beginning of May, Bob called to say that if we were ready, he could start May 20th. There was a LOT of work involved, and each step and each person that came to my house was professional and personable. I couldn't have asked for more! I felt completely comfortable leaving my house with the workers inside, as I needed to run errands. I was especially happy that when I ordered my cabinets, the manufacturer was having a special--you got a free cabinet if you ordered 13 cabinets. WOO HOO...I  got an awesome, 60 inch cabinet/vanity for my master bath and it's AMAZING! Bob installed that also and suggested I go back to Creative Cabinets and look through their remnants (it reminds me of a graveyard out back--but I found the PERFECT piece of quartz to compliment the rest of the bathroom! ) and I got it for a fair price. The workers cleaned up every evening, left all the "trash" in the neatest way they could in my garage. It accumulated until the last day when the work was completed and they hauled every last bit of it away! Bob also noticed that my stove had a safety hazard and the I needed to get a pro to either fix it or replace it and we chose to replace it. He reinstalled and hauled away our old appliances. Our kitchen is white, bright & unique with my own added touches! I felt, based on the reviews here, that Bob was a trustworthy man and businessperson. It made for a completely comfortable experience. I expected some dust here and there while the workers were working.. but at no time did I feel like I was subjected to a "mess" or "breathing in dust"....and I pretty much stayed inside my home while they all worked! So--as I restock and admire the beauty of my new kitchen cabinets and my bathroom vanity....I am truly thankful to have found Bob and his crew. A special "shout out" to Luis--a very hard working man who deserves the highest praise for his beautiful work! I would use him again in a heartbeat and hope this review will help you feel at ease that this is a company you can completely trust!

Bath Planet Systems of New York Inc
Would not ever use again or recommend this contractor to anyone!  I saw their booth at a local fair, decided to get an estimate. Two salesmen showed up within days. Very professional-sounding and easy to talk with. They won our trust 100% by their presentation of their product. One salesman was "in-training", the other did make it clear that his company, although in business for years, was starting this new Bath Planet venture and anxious to have our business. He assured us he was very very intent on making sure he was "with us every step of the way" and determined to deliver  an above-standard quality product at a great price and with the coveted "Good Housekeeping" seal as an added "insurance". We were assured that we would just have to wait about a week for the materials.  We signed the contract on 8/15/14 and were told this was a "one day procedure" with a start date of 8/26/15. We understood that it could take an extra day, if needed, and we were fine with this. Every little item was covered in writing, making it seem like this was a quality company to deal with. We gave a 25% deposit. Within a few days the salesman came back and measured, and we gave another 25% payment, as stated in the contract. Now we just needed to wait a few days to start.....
Then we heard NOTHING. As 8/26 was approaching, we did NOT hear from them, we called to confirm our appointment and were told the materials got "messed up"...and should be in "soon". We did not hear from them again. We called and were told that they would come 10/17/14... well, that date came and went and when we called we were told the company "messed up" the materials AGAIN! We were given a new start date of 10/24...and, as a side note, when we went over the "materials list"...much of it was not what we had "signed off" for in the contract. They did call on 10/23 to say they would be there between 8am and 10am the next day, depending on traffic...On 10/24 I called THEM at 11am because nobody showed. I was told "they are loading the truck right now!" I challenged this because I simply did not believe them. The receptionist was kind, however, she told me that because I did not believe her, I was basically "disrespecting" the company!  At Approx 1 pm two workers showed. They did not have all the material they needed, there was a big language barrier between us, but my husband and I tried very hard to communicate and make it work. It was unbelievable that the worker had to make runs to Home Depot to buy a shower head and handle...it was not Moen brand (as stated in the lovely Bath Planet brochure) BUT..I just wanted my shower so I accepted this. A few more days of not knowing exactly when, or if a worker would show up and it was ALMOST, but not quite...they sent the wrong shower doors!!!!...By the way, the salesman didn't measure the shower base correctly and so it was lucky for us that we had extra original bathroom tiles for this guy to put in...it was measured TOO narrow..again--we accpeted it to get the job done..Now--we waitied and waited again for the doors--put in a call and when we told the person what we were waiting for, they repeated back "you have rain-glass doors" coming on the truck today...we had asked for CLEAR glass..Good thing we called them again or we would have gotten the wrong doors! Meanwhile---(the plot thickens) The salesman shows up, when it was dark the next day, saying he was "in the neighborhood" and  asked if he could check the work. Of course, we said yes...he apologized for the delays (he was ill, the company messed up..etc) We were very very gracious to him. Then he said "Um...my boss is really getting on my case--he can't meet payroll...do you think you could write me a check for the balance, and maybe, hold  back $1000 till the door gets in"??? Of course, we wanted to laugh, but my husband said " No--I don't think so-- just bring the doors and you will get your money!"...His reply "Yeah, I didn't think so!" .......So--in the end, we have a pretty shower, Hubby had to adjust the handle because all that came out was cold water...Now he is painting the bathroom and we have to figure out how to cover the plastic grout that surrounds the shower( who knows if that's what was supposed to be used) because the paint will NOT adhere to it & it looks pretty shabby...All in all---a REALLY frustrating experience! IF you took the time to read this--God bless you and look for  somebody else to re-do your shower, because, as the salesman told me "if you recommend someone to us, they won't get the job done for the price I'm giving it to you!  ( You just can't make this stuff up LOL).......The End

    Lex Construction Inc
our renovation is almost complete and i needed to post this partial review because this company and its people are top notch., i own a local business and the promptness and attitude of paul and hector and there crew is A1. there is constant contact between paul and myself about timing and execution of the things that need to be done. Hector is very particular about his work and the couple of hiccups with the cabinets are home depots issue not there's but they took care of it immediatly. Home depot should be honored to have Lex construction as a contractor. I will post a full review when the job is done but I can say now hats off to paul and hector and there crew and the owner. I am a pain in the butt and they always listened to me with full attention and made me feel what i was saying was important. USE LEX best decision you can EVER MAKE!!!!

Bob Smith had done some previous plumbing work for us, on 3/4/14.  However, we also wanted him to put in a new kitchen-sink faucet, but we first had to pick out and purchase the faucet.  We also wanted him to do a carpentry repair at the base of our bathroom cabinet that surrounded a toe heater.  Once we had the faucet, we called Bob to set up a date to come, and he PROMPTLY called us back.  He arrived on time with his assistant, and both were very friendly, courteous and professional.  Bob and his assistant worked together to put in the new faucet, and his assistant made the carpentry repair in the bathroom.  The work was done neatly and clean.  I also took note how Bob treated his assistant with the utmost respect, and that impressed me.  I would definitely use this provider again and would recommend him to anyone who needed these type of services.

We called Bob Smith and left a message for him to do some plumbing work and a carpentry repair, and he PROMPTLY called us back to set up a date to do the work.  When he came to our home, he assessed what had to be done, went out to the local supply store for the parts he needed and came back and put in the appropriate plumbing fixtures.  Since we also wanted him to install a new kitchen-sink faucet (which we needed to pick out and purchase first) we agreed that we would call him after we purchased the faucet to set up a date for him to install it at a later date.  At this visit, Bob was on time, friendly, very courteous and professional.  We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone who needed this type of service.
