They were excellent! Highly-skilled, down to earth people that really listened to what we wanted. I did a custom mock-up of what I wanted for a mantle in Photoshop. They showed up and nailed it! I'd highly recommend them for any custom interior carpentry!

TS is THE BEST. They work hard, fast. So friendly, and always with a chipper positive attitude. The quality of their work is honestly TOP SHELF. TS is 100% HONEST. I would only seek help elsewhere if TS was not available. But i don't because i would rather wait for when TS is available.

    Brickliners Chimney Service
We called Brickliners Chimney Service to have them look at the fireplace in our new home. We wanted to know whether it could be used as-is, and whether we could install a wood or pellet stove on the back side of the chimney and making the fireplace inoperable. We wanted estimates on costs of repairs and installation of stoves and liners. I called other chimney repair companies in the area, too...none responded except Brickliners, who promptly returned my call and set up an appointment a couple of weeks out. I thought the time frame was very reasonable, given we were in the busiest time of year with winter setting in.  The company called to confirm the exact time/date just prior to the day we had discussed. Adam showed up right on schedule. He was very polite and put shoe covers on in order to protect the floors. I appreciated this! He examined the fireplace, chimney (top to bottom) and furnace, which vents into one of the flues in said chimney. Unfortunately, he confirmed my suspicions. All are in bad shape, improperly installed and/or in need of repair. He explained everything thoroughly and showed pictures of things that we couldn't see with the naked eye. In addition to the generally bad news, he gave us a number of options and routes we could go and provided the information we need to make the best, most economically sound decisions as we move forward. This was exactly what we wanted! We received a detailed report of the findings (in a nice shiny folder with their card and other information- very professional!) and many photos were taken to be kept on file if we need them. All this at no cost. Wow. Thanks Brickliners! We will definitely call you for future work and recommend your services to others.  BONUS: I had mentioned that the damper in the fireplace didn't work. Adam was able to get it as operational as possible while he was examining it. He even insisted on cleaning up the resulting mess of mortar, metal and flue pieces that rained down when he did this. What a guy!

    Brickliners Chimney Service
We had an appointment scheduled for the second week of October, but they called and asked if they could come earlier, that week in fact, since they had an opening.  We welcomed the repair as we did not want any further damage to be incurred over the winter.  The mason's arrived punctually and did an accurate description of the required services and gave the estimated time to completion.  They were pleasant, professional and had a great work ethic and had the job completed within the time they stated.  They even went above and beyond to do a double check the following week to ensure they hadn't missed anything as the chimney was in need of some serious TLC. I would definately recommend them and use their services again.  They are also military/veteran friendly and gave us a discount for our time in service, A great company and professionals!!

    Brickliners Chimney Service
Brickliners was out last year to point my chimney. They also relined it and put on a chimney cap. The relining guarantee requires that a professional clean my chimney yearly. They came this year and were prompt, professional, quick, and very neat.   They were knowledgeable about what needed work, took the time to explain and detail what needed to be done and willing to work with me on pricing since what I needed last year was quite extensive.   I will be happy to be using them in the future for my chimney and wood stove needs.

    AFFORDABLE CHIMNEY CARE
The sweeping went well, as it has done every time I have used "Affordable."  No problems.  All of my questions were answered and more.  A few questions are always asked by the provider to check in and for him to evaluate how well the stoves performed since the last sweeping.  How and what I burn was queried as well, to make sure that there were no surprises in the chimneys.  I count on wood heat for my home in the winter and I am consistently coached and informed by the provider as to how to most efficiently heat my house with my two wood stoves. I have been using this provider for 14 years.  The quantity of wood I burn allows me to have my chimneys swept every two years, so this saves me money.  At one point about 10 years ago, I had him install my second wood stove in the basement and line both my chimneys with stainless steel lining.  As promised, my stoves work even more efficiently than before and I know that my chimneys are working efficiently and safely.   I have also had the occasion to ask this provider with some other masonry issues in my home.  He has always come across professionally and courteously.  The prices that are charged by this provider are very reasonable, living up to the name of the company!  Whereas other chimney sweeps and masons might be ready to do any work or do work that is not necessary, this provider has actually recommended for me NOT to do some work when it might be costly or the return on investment might not be worth it.  I am very particular as to whom I let into my home to work on anything, and this provider is consistently honest and straight-forward with me and my many questions and concerns. I would recommend this provider to anyone who is looking for a small and local outfit that is honest, punctual, reasonably priced and creative at coming up with solutions that other, less experienced and more expensive companies might not come up with.  Give "Affordable" a call, you won't regret it.

KELCO HEATING & AIR CONDITONING INC
Overall not bad, although I thought the price was high. I counted on a KelCo to coordinate for a new hearth after the site surveyer said that I could not install the stove in a corner due to fire hazards ect.. I purchased the stove on September 22 and was scheduled for a month later for install. Due to prior commitments I could not do the install on the sheduled date and had to reschedule for 4 November. On the day of the install I received a call from the hardware store that the hearth that I had purchased (and was in stock at the time of pruchase) was no longer in stock. Regarless the installers arrived slightly late due to the mix up and proceeded with the install. The install appears professionally done and I have no complaints on it. I wish the installer had given me a demonstration to the operation of the system since the operators manual was vague. The installer did give me instructions on "first time burn" that were not included in the operators manual for which I was pleased. They cleaned up after themselves and took away all the trash. Upon completion of the install the paperwork was messed up and they thought I had to pay for the stove itself although I had already purchased it.

    Chimney Care
Completely unprofessional - Beware!  Dave seemingly had no awareness or concern with specifications or safety.  After the job was done, we noticed that the hearth pad was not positioned correctly to shield the floor in front of the stove.  He came back and adjusted it.  After he had left again, we noticed that the stove was too close to the wall and that the flue was not plumb.  We called and left a message for Dave and he never called us back.  We had Chimney Savers come out to inspect the job and they confirmed that the installation was not done correctly or properly for safe operation of the stove.  Proper shielding was not installed at the stove outlet bend or in the attic pass-through.  The height of the chimney was too short and a spark catching cap was omitted.  We are paying to have it completely reinstalled.

    GREEN MOUNTAIN FIREPLACES
We put a 50% deposit down on a wood stove, and the soonest they could install it was a little over a month out. After about two weeks they sent someone out to take pictures of the potential installation, and then, the next we heard from them, the installation crew came. To this crew's credit, they said the installation as proposed would not work, (the room was too small) and they offered us all our money back. The woman who ran this crew and made the offer of an unconditional refund claimed to be an owner. We were at that point happy with the organization's honesty and integrity. A couple of weeks later, when we went to collect the deposit, another "owner" Jim, refused to give us our money back and said in a most unprofessional way that he would take it out of the other owner's bonus. He offered us $1000.00 back or a store credit for $2500.00. It needs to be pointed out that we were never told and never signed anything that stated that the deposit was non-refundable...we would have never agreed to that without an estimate based on the proposed siting of the stove installation. This was an unprofessional encounter and we are going to have to spend additional time and money to recoup our deposit. We feel betrayed and will not do business with this company again.
