    ECONO-SEWER
Last night I became aware of an emergency. My wife and I reside as tenants on the top floor of a two-family house. We received a phone call from our landlord informing us that the plumbing in the entire house was backed up and that, until the problem was fixed, nobody was to let any water go down any drain, including flushing our bathroom toilet. My landlord knows that I am good at finding competent professional help and so he asked me to find a good plumber. I called Econo Sewer & Drain Service Inc. and, even though it was well past normal business hours, I was lucky and reached the owner, Edward. Hearing of my emergency, Edward made an appointment for one of his men, Larry, to come to our house this morning. I did not get to meet Larry because staying overnight at our apartment under these circumstances was not a viable option for my wife and me and so we looked for and luckily found a decent hotel and stayed in one of its rooms overnight. This morning we received a call from a member of the landlord's family stating that the problem had been solved. When I got home this afternoon, I called Edward and spoke with him and Larry. I thanked them and asked them the reason for the backup. They said it was caused by a long-time accumulation of cooking grease. They advised me, and I have relayed their advice to all the occupants of the house, not to pour used cooking oil down any drain, because when the oil becomes cold it hardens and clogs up the drains. Instead, we should let the oil cool off a bit and then pour it into a garbage bag. These people are extremely good at their jobs. They are also very friendly and have a good sense of humor. I recommend them highly.

    ECONO-SEWER
I called ECONO-SEWER at approximately 11:00 on August 7. I initially gave them a time window of one to two weeks. They sent Bernard(#52) from another job to give me an estimate. He arrived in about an hour. He understood what I needed. And he did the job on the spot. Bernard(#52) was friendly. He was knowledgeable. He was quick. But more importantly he was honest. He never tried to sell me something that I didn't need and his price was very reasonable. This is the kind of person that I would want for a friend. I would use him again any time. I would recommend him to anyone who asked.

    Petri Plumbing & Heating, Inc.
I have used Petri before which is why I contracted with this company to address major plumbing problems uncovered during my basement renovation. My ratings are not based on the work completed as the true test will be this coming winter. The work done involved replacement and re connection to my boiler of underground pipes. I also had baseboard heating installed. My ratings are based on this company's lack of professionalism. Specifically, poor follow-through, lack of accountability, communication of incorrect information and inconsistent communication in regards to financing, scheduling, and project management. They seem to have one main person who pretty much owns all aspects of approving contracts, scheduling, coordination, logistics and project completion (Chris). Dealing with him was very difficult - I missed quite a few days of work because of no show appointments. Chris insisted numerous times one project was completed when it was not, and I got confusing info about financing. I financed almost $10K of this job and was forced to make several monthly payments while this job remained unfinished. I don't think the financing should have started until the job was completed. I did my best to escalate for some resolution by emailing the owner (Michael) who never replied to my email. I then called and left messages for Michael who finally called back and was able to help me move forward to complete the job. Throughout this process Petri made no attempts to hold themselves accountable. Lastly, due to Petri's disorganization, there is a balance left to pay for one of the projects. Petri neglected to add the balance to my account for financing as I had indicated. Chris emailed me on 5/2 that someone would call to take the payment. No one ever did. On 5/17, I received an email from Chris letting me know that despite all of their mismanagement in regards to scheduling, financing, etc... I was going to be sent to collections ASAP. Absolutely no grace for the client and no ownership in regards to their own poor business practices. I cannot recommend this company and will only call them again if there is an issue with the work completed and only if it is covered under a service agreement.

    JP Sewer & Drain Inc
I had a pesky clog slowing up the drainage in my toilet for weeks. I tried plunging, manually snaking, pouring down a liquid drain cleaner. Nothing really worked. I contacted Joey through Angies list and he promptly gave me a window of time to show up the next day that worked for my schedule. He arrived on time and patiently identified the issue which was in my sewage pit nothing that a toilet snake could reach), used a powerful electric snake and did some high velocity water jetting to clear the clogs out to the city sewers until there were no more issues. He also placed a camera down my pipes to see if there were any issues related to a broken pipe (which thankfully there werent). The work was more than I anticipated but he explained all the charges as we progressed and made sure I was OK with moving forward with each step. Joey also answered all my pesky questions throughout the process. His work came with a one year guarantee against stoppages and I am so happy I chose him. Joey the plumbers work is thorough, Joey and his assistant are professional, and he is knowledgeable. Now my toilet is working better than ever and hell be my go-to plumber for whatever I need (including my annual maintenance.) Id recommend Joey for anyone looking for quality service.

    CityWide Sewer & Drain
I typically do not write reviews, but nowadays, when you find a company that is courteous, knowledgeable, thorough and fair priced, I think you need to say something. Delano was all of these things I mentioned. He helped me trouble shoot the problem and showed me each step of the way what he was doing. I called CityWide at 2:30pm and Delano was at my house at 4:15pm the very same day. I would highly recommend him and CityWide and would definitely call again if I ever needed their services.

    BEDFORD SEWER SVC
A couple months ago I had a good experience with the company - similar issue but they were available faster and charged less. This time, they sent a different technician. I explained the issue and asked if it would be $95 like last time and was told that it would be - but then told in person that he had misunderstood and would actually be charging $160 - almost double. I was also told that I should be preemptively hiring them every three months to do a general sewer cleaning - I'm quite surprised by this recommendation - seems a bit excessive! Also: he pumped out the sewer and placed the tube sloppily so some of the gunk ran right back into the basement and I had to mop it a bunch of times with heavy cleaning chemicals - it was gross! That most definitely didn't happen the first time.

    BEDFORD SEWER SVC
I called this morning at 9 after troubleshooting with a plumber friend and said that I think the main sewer line needs to be cleared. They said a technician would call me back within 1-2 hours. He called, said he'd come at 1 and that it shouldn't take more than an hour and if I'm right that the main sewer line needs to be cleared, it would be $95. He texted a little later, asking if it was OK to come at 2. I said it was fine. The doorbell rang at 2:01. He spent about 45 minutes checking things out, then clearing the main sewer line, then double and triple checking that it was 100% clear. I'd absolutely hire again - very happy with Bedford Sewer.

The Original $49.95 Sewer & Drain Service Inc
Despite their claims AND their website, they are NOT "7/24" - called at 7.30 in the evening, said they only work until midnight, could not get to me before that time. It's ok if you are booked, but don't ADVERTISE 24/7 if you are not prepared to do that.

Empire Water Main & Sewer Inc
Ray and Eli were at my home at the earliest point of estimation. They were courteous and professional. Ray explained everything in detail - why I was having this recurring issue and how to avoid it in the future. Ray cleaned up his own mess and gave me a senior discount. The entire process took approximately 45 minutes. I was so pleased with this company's representatives that I have decided to have Empire Plumbing, Water and Sewer maintain my house pipe/sewer in the future. Work comes with a guarantee. Highly recommended.

    George's Sewer Services
They came and cleaned out the sewer line. They were very professional and polite. Did their job. Answered my questions. And the sewer is no longer blocked. Woman who answered the phone was very polite and helpful.
