  • I have an issue with my HVAC. I called Elias to make an appointment. He told me I don't need to get it serviced. He stayed on the phone with me for a long time to give me his expertise as to what is wrong with the unit. He sounds like a generous person who really enjoys his profession.

  • Bad. Failed to replace pump as requested, left system with valves still shut off and leaking when valves opened. Attempted to charge me $1440 with no justification for a 90 minute visit with no part installed – which basically was attempted theft. I ended up paying a service fee of $250 but I now have a leak that I need to have someone else repair.

  • I can't complain enough how much of a joke it was to deal with this company. It felt like I was trapped in a bad comedy. The first rep they sent was fine. He was a nice guy and said he had solution for our problems. Then I receive a variety of random quotes for the job. When I followed up for an explanation, no one answered. A couple months go by while we focus on other problems with our house. We reached back out and they send ANOTHER rep to give a quote on the work. This guy cancels on us twice. Then when he finally comes, I received 8 different quotes for the 8 different services we needed (again with no explanation of the work). When I asked for two of the items to be done, the owner wants to send ANOTHER rep to assess the situation. Please save your time and sanity and go elsewhere.

  • I just moved into a new place at the start of the summer and the A/Cs weren't working. Found NY Refrigeration & Air Conditioning through Fujitsu's website as I wanted someone who was qualified to work on these machines. David was very responsive and was able to come within the hour. He evaluated the problem and explained everything clearly. We scheduled him to come back to complete all the work that needed to be done and everything is great! Will definitely go here again for any A/C stuff I need, David really knows what he's doing when it comes to these units, unlike the person who installed them.

  • The tech was very professional. He could of charged me up to $300+. Instead he told me clean condenser coils. Told me how to do it and what product to buy. In all with his service fee and cleaner $120. 100 for him and 20 for the cleaner. Samuel went through my entire ac system. I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM AND USE HIM AGAIN

  • Beware of this company if you want reliable service. I would never refer this company to anyone and will never use them again! I referred this company to a relative and they never showed up to install her air conditioning unit. They took a deposit of $2k+ and confirmed appointments for three different dates. They never showed up each time and also never called to say they weren’t coming. My aunt had to call them each time because she took vacation days and wasted her time waiting. This was going on for a month +. She has yet to receive her deposit back. This is absolutely unprofessional and unreliable.

  • Our split level AC unit was no longer pushing cold air. Asked a few contractors and Clean Air Doctors seemed to have good reviews. Daniel was very responsive to texts. However, a number of times we had to reschedule. Even day of he asked to push up the time slot up, which I obliged by 30 minutes. However, the technician Michael, showed up 30 minutes late to the appointment which meant I didn’t actually have to leave work earlier than I did. Michael spent about an hour testing two lines and found nothing wrong and said the AC unit itself needed to be replaced. He did explain the issues and said I needed warranty service and they couldn’t do anything else. Cost was $300. Seemed a bit high for the work performed since most of it was waiting around smoking while the air pump vacuumed the lines. Fast forward a few days and we contacted Fujitsu regarding servicing the unit as recommended by Michael and they said they don't work directly with consumers and that it is up to the technician to call them while diagnosing issues with the system. They also mentioned it is never their policy to simply replace an entire AC unit as Michael had recommended. At this point in time I contacted Daniel to followup with Fujitsu and my ticket number. Two days later with multiple follow ups I have not heard a word. Due to the extreme heat in the northeast this week I called other service technicians that were responding to see what could be done. The ones I spoke to all confirmed that the testing was incomplete. Clean Air Doctor should have fully tested the entire system. Testing the lines as well as the condensor coil and compressor. They mentioned the tests were relatively simple as well, using some soapy water and filling the lines with nitrogen to see if bubbles formed to check for leaks. None of this was done by Clean Air and I don't know why, because I did ask why they didn't check for those leaks and Michael simply said no one does that for products under warranty and that I would just get a replacement unit from Fujitsu. Clearly false. Another technician said that they check all the lines with nitrogen and test for leaks in the whole system even returning the day after to see if the pressure in the system goes down to check if there are pinhole leaks that can't be found on a short service call. This also includes filling up the Puron (R410) refrigerant. Total cost? $350...Most AC systems after 2010 use R410 and it's cheap...$100 for a 25 lbs cylinder, unfortunately most technicians charge $45-$85 per pound to refill. Michael explained how expensive the refrigerant was, again another false statement. In fact, Clean Air wanted $300 to check the lines and another $500 to fix a leaking line and fill with refrigerant. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed by the level of service and lack of thoroughness. I'm also miffed why there has been a lack of response to my inquiry of them contacting Fujitsu. They are more than happy to take your money, but after it's taken don't expect much response afterwards.
