Handyman reviews in Brooklyn

Ramin was initially very attentive, but did not want to do a crucial part of the job: paint removal. At first he overcharged for that specific service, then the day before project start, he said he needed to "pass" on just that service. When I said that was not possible, he simply stopped responding to my emails.

This review is long overdue, but, I wanted to really praise these gentlemen for the work they did for me. Summer 2018, I had previously hired another contractor and the work was very poor and I was forced to look elsewhere to save my project. Then came ISL Progress to the rescue! They stepped in transformed a dead space into a masterpiece. I now have 2 beautiful bedrooms where there was a dreary and unwelcoming area. A brand new bathroom, kitchenette, hardwood doors, laminate flooring, perfectly cut molding, lighting, drainage, vents, etc... etc.. I have received numerous compliments for the work, but, all credit is due to these gentlemen who were willing to work with me under some challenging circumstances. I highly recommend the ISL Progress team. They are professional and genuinely good people. Will definitely use them again!

Ivan and Ronan have been my handymen for a few years now. They're great! They put so much care into the work that they do. They've done painting, patching, plumbing and electrical projects for me over the years. And all of it is done well! If you're a home owner I would totally recommend developing a relationship with them and keeping their contacts on hand. They've come to the rescue so many times!

We installed a new kitchen floor, master bedroom closet, and master bathroom door. Plus, did some repairs to dry wall and ceilings throughout our place that were damaged from a leak. Ivan and Roman were incredible from start to finish. Weve had some bad experiences with contractors in the past, have had shoddy work done in our place, but Ivan and Roman were nothing like our past experience. They were communicative, professional and competitively priced. At the end of every day during the job, they cleaned and swept and made sure our apartment was livable for my family. They finished the job ahead of schedule and the work was terrific. Several months later we had some issues with our bathroom door and washing machine (which got moved during the job). They came back and adjusted the washer and repainted the bathroom door free of charge. Having a good reputation and ensuring quality work is worth more to them than money. I cannot recommend them enough. Considering the horror stories you hear about contractors, it was such a relief we found honest, hard working contractors who do quality work. We will 100% call them the next time we need some work done.

Igor and the rest of the team from Tedora Inc took on the job of completely renovating our recently purchased apartment. From our first meeting with Igor to the last, we had full trust and faith in him and his company in that the work was going to be done with the utmost care, attention to detail and with our requests in mind. The renovation included totally re-doing the kitchen, both bathrooms (toilet, bathtub and sink plumbing), full electrical including replacement of the breaker panel, floors (both hardwood and tile), carpentry, ceiling and painting work as well as aesthetic touches throughout the apartment. Igor took our vision and helped us refine it and really bring it from concept to life. We really appreciated Igor's straightforward and honest attitude throughout the process. He was responsive via text-message and worked will with other contractors on the job. Igor's advice, instructions and communication skills really put us in ease throughout and helped us concentrate on our lives instead of the all of the details of the renovation. He kept us updated on the progress and regular weekly meetings ensured that the work was getting done on schedule. He was thoroughly understanding and able to accommodate change orders from our end as well as issues with suppliers. We are very glad and thankful to have worked with Igor throughout and would do so again in a heartbeat.

After hearing some crazy (expensive) suggestions from other contractors, I saw Tedora's listing on Angie's list, called him up and here I am, 24 hours later, an EXTREMELY happy customer. He was straightforward, returned money for materials not used, and was willing to work with me to find a solution that was strong and aesthetically pleasing. I will be using him again!!

Had a prior contractor start the work before abandoning the job. He did more damage than good. Jonathans teams came in and redid EVERYTHING perfectly and the way it should be done. The price for my budget and he worked with me to get it there. HIGHLY recommend.

Did not follow instructions. Handrail which failed due to use of wrong fasteners.Left trim on sink unfinished. Waste line under sink has to be redone due to incorrect installation costing me $200. Dont know what the handrail will cost or the trim that has to be cut. I would never hire this man or recommend his company.Complained about having to go to Brooklyn and that he wasnt making enough money.

My basement has remained untouched from the previous homeowners. Outside of coming down to do laundry (which I dreaded because of the condition of the basement) this area has been a throw away space. The bathroom, although functional was pretty nasty so it has never been used since we purchased the house two years ago. I figured it was time to make use of this wasted space and do a complete overhaul. Having had a great experience with Roman, Ivan and the team the first time I used them, I decided to give them the job. As with the first job, they came to walk the space and we discussed the details of what I was looking for, what was possible, timing, etc. After about a day or two, I received an email with the official quote that itemized the cost of each portion of the project (labor and materials). I thought the quote was fair and we agreed on a date to start the project. Like the professionals these guys are they showed up bright and early on the agreed day and every working day thereafter. The entire project included gutting the entire space with drywall, frames, flooring, tile, shower, toilet, etc. etc., re-framing and installing all new insulation, drywall, re-routing and installing electrical, building a new wall around the existing cast iron stair case with under stair storage, cutting and removing cast iron stair spindles and railings, closing space under stair treads (these guys are magicians), installing new fire proof drywall in mechanical/laundry area, completely new bathroom installation (shower, toilet, tiling new window, access panels for water shutoffs), new flooring, painting, recessed light installation, running wires for speaker system in ceiling, installing down-firing ceiling speakers, repairing outside breach in stucco, waterproofing gaps in basement entry and above grade. I'm sure I'm missing something, but you get the idea... For the sake of keeping this review under a novel I'll try my best to summarize the entire experience. Working with these guys it feels very much like a partnership. You can tell they care very much about the quality of their work and they will stay as long as they have to to get the job done right. Unlike some of my experience with other contractors who will patch things up to get the job done, or close walls around areas they know will present a long or short term problem; these guys don't work that way. I feel a lot of trust that they will always do what's in my best interest. They bring my attention to anything they foresee as a problem, even if it doesn't directly concern them. As an example, when demo-ing the bathroom they realized the sewer line for the original toilet was set too high, so they removed all the concrete and realized the workers who built the bathroom didn't want to touch the sewer line from the kitchen seeing it was probably on it's last leg, so they left it and decided to just install a new line over that one. These guys knew I probably had a very short amount of time left in those pipes, so they replace the entire section of that line (for no additional fee). This was a project that spanned a few weeks, so it's not easy to summarize the highlights, but all in all I'm very very satisfied with the result of the project. Everyone who has seen the finished product is very impressed and requesting their contact information for their projects. I've already let them know they have another large renovation project coming from me in the near future. The project went over what I initially wanted to spend when I first decided to do this, but it was well worth it.

It went really smooth, he did everything in a professional manner and was friendly. The job was done amazingly quickly, I was really surprised. Made an extra effort with cleaning after the job was done. Overall Im extremely satisfied with the work
