    PREMIER ROOFING CO
If you are on this page because you are considering hiring Premier Roofing, I hope you will read my story, and afterwards consider hiring someone else. You want a firm that when a mistake is made, they are willing to accept responsibility and apologize. Things that Premier absolutely refuses to do. Before I had solar panels bolted to my roof, I wanted an entirely new roof underneath. As a benefit, 1" of old roof layers is replaced with 2" thick insulation board. I had hired Premier in the past. They installed a roof hatch and two skylights. So I hired Premier again. I paid $30,200 for the new roof, plus $4500 for other roof work. They completed all roof work in mid-September 2017. A couple weeks later I brought in my top floor awnings. To loosen the awning clamps that hold the top bar, I stand on a step ladder with my arm out the upper window. My face is about 18" from the corner. The corner walls were clearly in fine condition. In early June 2018, when putting the awnings back up, I found extensive water damage in the corner. I went onto the roof. And right above the damage, I found a hole in the roof membrane of the gutter. The outside diameter was a little over 1", then funneling to a smaller hole. The hole was on the gutter's high end, and on the inside, right against the house. I called Premier. Anthony promptly responded. With a caulking gun and a cartridge of asphalt roof cement, he filled the hole. The damage stopped. Some months later I discovered that the damage went down a total of three floors. The back wall of the house is hollow on the upper two floors. The water had run down inside it. On the third floor down, the back wall is solid, so the water damage stopped in the crown molding there. The plaster damage cost me thousands to repair. I could have put in a claim on my homeowner's insurance policy, but I didn't. My deductible is $2500. So I asked Premier for $2500. Premier refused to accept any culpability. Fred argued the leak was an old unnoticed leak, that I didn't see when I brought the awning in. He tried to blame it on the neighbor's gutter overflowing and the water having come through the brick. According to Fred, even with a good pointing job the water can come through the brick itself. Anything but not them. So I filed in small claims court. The court hearing came. And right up to the end of the hearing, Premier refused to accept any culpability. Had they accepted and apologized, this comment would not be so negative. And, had they settled before the hearing, there would have been no review at all. But they knew that it is very hard to win in small claims court. I did not win the case. The arbitrator pointed out that in a court of law the onus was on me to prove my case by a preponderance of the evidence. And Fred was able to instill enough doubt that he won.

    Imperial Contracting of NYC Corp
I needed a lot of miscellaneous home improvement work to be done, and all of it was addressed by Imperial Contracting. When writing the contract for the work, Yamin was polite and very thorough. He also provided his contracting license and insurance without arm-twisting. Communication about arrival at the house every day was appreciated. The workers themselves were all polite and hard-working. When unforeseen problems popped up, Yamin was very flexible and helpful. Altogether a positive experience.

    Royal Roofing & Siding
We vetted several roofers and though there were others that inspired confidence none came quite so far as Royal. Their customer service was exceptional and their workmanship impressive. Their promise of getting a full roof rip, repair and reinstall (new hatch and skylights) done in ONE day was almost too good to be true, but the team pulled it off during a unpredictable and wet spring season. We couldn't be happier with their work.

    Innovation Construction NY Inc
it went better than expected! They were patient while we worked back on forth on estimates until it worked for me. Ekram and his team showed up when they were supposed to, completed all of the work, kept things clean and were gone quicker than I thought. It was a complete success and I look forward to working with them more in the future.

    ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley
The job went well overall. Quality of work is good. Neighbors (some who were contractors themselves) came by to inquire and compliment on the quality siding installation as well as the capping of the windows. Work was started on time and the JA team cleaned up after each day. Joseph checked in periodically and was always available for questions. The installation took about four days with minimal issues. Overall happy with the work and the quality of materials used. Prior to choosing JA, we obtained a number of estimates from local installers. JA's pricing was in the middle tier. Ultimately, we decided to go with JA after seeing some of their other projects in the neighborhood, the reviews on Angie's List and noting the number of related projects performed, the type of comparable materials used, the 7 Year Warranty, as well as their professionalism. Joseph is very personable and he has a good team. We look forward to working with Joseph and his team again given the opportunity.

    Elegant Home Improvement
Karim from Elegant Home Improvement came recommended from a friend who described him as an incredibly communicative contractor. That turned out to be very accurate, and it makes a huge difference. Karim has been extremely, clear, patient, and professional. He takes time to explain things and to understand our interests. It also seems like he takes pride in making things really nice he takes satisfaction in it beyond the check. Because of difficulties weve had with the Dept of Buildings (NOT related to Karim), weve had to adjust a lot of things along the way. So weve had to communicate A LOT and not once have we ever felt like weve received anything other than honesty, details, and fair processing. Because of that DOB error, the process took longer than we intended, which means Karim has been in our lives - almost daily - for a period of months. It was a pleasure and stress free the whole time. I mean it. Its amazing to say....but he did a really good job with our somewhat complicated needs and were really happy with the work and could not recommend Karim highly enough. On top of it, his team of subcontractors for plumbing and electric were also good to work with. I would share more photos but were still moving some boxes and furniture around so I think these few will give an idea of the nice flooring and tiling that Karim and team accomplished as well as an entire floor that Karim opened up to a continuous kitchen, dining room and living room with the built-in bookshelves Karim did for us I would recommend him highly to any of my friends...and Im grateful to our friends that recommended him.

    ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley
Joe's bid was lower than the others we received and he came with great recommendations, so we decided to go with him even though he had a two month backlog of jobs. We are very glad we did. His team has been working together a long time and is exceptionally professional and hardworking. Joe was very communicative at every stage of the process, keeping us posted about when they'd be able to begin, how changing weather conditions would affect the schedule, and how the work was progressing. Our roof looks great, and his guys even went the extra mile to clean out a hard-to-reach stained glass skylight. We couldn't be happier.

    Roofmaster NYC Inc
Neighbors were not disturbed. Quality of the work is good but it has only been 6 months. The work I did is supposed to last 15-20 years. He also replaced a skylight and hatch and put in new boot casings for the hvac cables and installed a new copper gutter. In the aggregate (working around suboptimal weather) I would say the complete work took 2 weeks. I wanted the job done right with as little tension as possible with my contractor and my experience with Mike was just that. Roofmaster was my most expensive solution bid, but the experience was without drama. And that is worth a lot!
