Gas Leak Repair reviews in Brooklyn

  • It's a big shop, so details and personal service are a little less than if you went with a smaller plumber. Overall the job was done well. One of the plumbers made some decisions without consulting first and resulted in a two week back and forth about coming a fixing an issue, but the owner caught wind of the situation and came and made everything right. They are a little pricey, but quality of work is high as well.

  • much cooperation - difficulty w/o hot water for almost two weeks - subsequently petri has addressed this problem and will be providing hot water with a temporary electric water heater what glitches came up, petri addressed quickly and competently. answered questions, provided updates, went the extra mile. others who have come to do inspections like the city - were most impressed by the unit. they are not inexpensive but guarantee their work true professionals.

  • It went very well "all in all". I called & hired them on a Saturday for a gas leak that I thought was corrected by someone else even though every other plumber I called was not doing gas leak work on a Saturday. I had to also leave the country a few days after that. To be clear the whole building including a restaurant had no heat, cooking gas or hot water. The problem took a couple of weeks to fix from "start to finish" but it was not due to a result of plumbers not showing up or lack of effort. Many logistics were involved that are too much to list here. To a small extent, the plumbers office even communicated with my tenants via email while I was away to avoid a collapse in communications. In once instance, they even came out briefly on a Sunday (no one does that in NYC) to check on one of the no heat apt's during NYC's brutal cold front. The pricing was not cheap & some costs were unexpected but the problem was fully resolved.

  • I spoke with Carlos on the phone/made an appointment. I let him know that I wanted an estimate. He quoted a price for the estimate that I was satisfied with. He and his apprentice showed up right on time. The gas had been shut off on to the top floor because of the leak. He was very professional and explained the process it would take to determine whether the leak was behind the wall or in the shut off valve in back of the stove. I was concerned about pricing and asked if what he was going to do was covered by the estimate price. He said the test to determine where the leak was would be covered by the estimate. The leak was in the valve in back of the stove. The part that was needed was in his truck. He made the repairs quickly and efficiently. I was very pleased with the level of service and I was satisfied with the way that he responded to my questions. I made several calls to other companies before I decided to call CPH. I was quoted prices without anyone stepping inside the door. I am very satisfied with the work. I would certainly hire Carlos again without any reservations at all. Thanks, Carlos. Great work.

  • I wish I could give Hassan an A +. He is a true professional and takes pride in his work. He is knowledgable, responsive, intelligent and creative. He was able perform the work I needed in a timely manner. He came in, got to work right away, cleaned up and the job was done to my satisfaction. I am very please and will definitely use him again. Although his home base is the Glendale area he does travel to all 5 boroughs of NYC. Recommended!

  • Hassan answered my emergency call regarding a gas leak and he came from another job within an hour to replace the leaking valve. He returned at another scheduled time to do all other plumbing work in my apartment. He is pleasant, professional and reasonable with his service charges. He is very skilled in his trade, works fast and provides quality results. I am very pleased to have found him and I will certainly request his services again when I have more plumbing work to be done. I have referred him to my neighbors, who have also hired him to do work in their apartments..

  • Used them twice. First time to snake out the tub. It was a troublesome clog that several other plumbers had only half fixed and said nothing more could be done. Big Apple were great and the tub is working beautifully. Second time I got a new stove and needed the connector on the gas pipe moved. They were on time, did a great job.

  • A Good Plumber is highly professional and meticulous in their planning. My landlord is tough to get in touch with, so getting permission to do the work was a real obstacle. Ultimately my landlord decided to have his own guys do the work due to some unique conditions that exist in my building (it's at least 100 years old), so we ended up not being able to use A Good Plumber at this time. The thoroughness and informative consulting they gave me was in itself a great value to me, so I look forward to hiring them the next time we need a job done where my landlord does not need to be involved, or better yet, once I get my own building.

  • . We needed to get an oil to gas conversion. After seeing a few plumbers we settled on Big Apple. they were slightly pricer than the rest, but in the end it worked out well. A few problems that contributed to the cost was the after we hired Big Apple, we then needed to get an architect involved because we wanted to move the boiler to another location less than 10 feet away.  This process created a lot of stress and delayed the process tenfold. Primarily because the architect had to make drawings and pull permits from the DOB which is a nightmare. Added 2 months to our job. At the same time the architect and big apple didnt see eye to eye all the time.  What we have learned is that its better to firest secure the architect and let him recommend the plumber/ contractor for the jobs. it works out smoother because your architect will already have a working relationship with the contractor.
We also need to get our a chimney liner. Big Apple recommended a chimney contractor named Tony that they often use,. His quote was reasonable and seemed like a nice guy,, but his scheduling would change from day to day without any concern for our plans. He held us up frequently, and i assumed he had other jobs coming in so we couldn't wait any more and hired another chimney guy,, who did the job at a lower bid too.
Aside from the scheduling and timing delays, when it was time to do the actual installations Nick and Chris were top notch on the job. they came in with their crew of about 4 guys and worked very quickly to install the new boiler and water heater. And their follow thru was very professional. Nick would always return our calls very quickly.  And check up on us to make sure there was no problems. We did have a small issue and Chris came over as soon as possible to fix it.
Again they were a bit pricey, but the work was well done and their communication and customer service is outstanding.

  • Joe was fantastic. He listened to the full issue, made an appointment to come the next day, texted and called me to let me know when he was en route and was super professional.
He and his associate were in and out in about minutes- he also gave me a bonus lesson on taking care of my boiler when he noted that the water in the tube was extremely dirty.
Joe is courteous, punctual and fixed the problem immediately- will definitely be my go-to guy in the future!
