    Fenton Garage Doors
I would give this company 10 stars. Richie called back in a few minutes, came over soon, gave us the price... Everything was done the same day. Very professional and courteous people. Highly, highly recommend.

If I could give Richie higher than A I would. I had kind of an emergency: we have an 80 year old house with its original garage door- wood, very heavy and very temperamental. I had it open to get all my gardening stuff out, and it came flying back down and I couldn't budge it. It's early spring, and any gardener knows it's prime time- you gotta start getting those plants in the ground. So I needed help right away. We called Richie last Saturday. It's the following Saturday and voil, we have a new sturdy, light garage door that doesn't kill us to open and close. Richie charged nothing for the consultation, the price for the door and installation was very reasonable, and Richie saved both my back and my garden.

    Fenton Garage Doors
The grounded prong on the cord for the garage door opener was removed. Mr. Fenton told me that is his usually practice. He wants to charge me to have someone come out to replace the cord. Work was sloppy. The blue wrapping was left on the garage door railing. The garage door windows were installed dirty. There are two dead bugs and cobb webs between the window and the window grill. There are fingerprints and built up dust around the finger prints on the windows.

No complaints here. Fenton responded to my request in less than 15 mins. Richie knew exactly what my issue was just by the description of the problem. I was quoted and our door was fixed the very next morning. The gentleman who fixed the door was professional, quick and knew his doors. He even knew it was aligned incorrectly after we "fixed it" after Hurricane Sandy.

Roy responded immediately to my search and showed up in about an hour. He explained to me exactly what had to be done. He was very knowledgeable and professional and replaced the springs and cables/pulleys on my garage door. The work was done efficiently and quickly. I would highly recommend Roy and would definitely use him again.

    Menalco Garage Doors & Gates
Let me start with the recommendation. Was I satisfied with the repair itself? Yes...Would I ever use this company again? Resounding No... Why? See the story below... I was having trouble opening my garage door the other day and unfortunately needed to access to my car inside due to a trip the family was making for Easter weekend. I called up a few places and Menalco seemed to be the only place picking up. I spoke with the receptionist and she mentioned that due to the holiday weekend it would be tough to send someone out, but that she would have someone call me back. After 30 minutes someone did call back and asked to send me him some pictures of the issue. I did and he said it was going to be $295. Although a bit high, I thought that the garage door came off the rails, so it sounded like that might be in the right ballpark for the 3+ hours of work I thought it was going to take to fix. So I agreed and about two hours later an older gentleman, who was smoking up a storm, arrived at the house. Along with my help and to my surprise, we were able to lift the garage door. The issue seemed to have been one of the tension springs snapped, due to old age, and was preventing the lifting of the garage door. We found the old spring that had fell under my car and the man proceeded to reattach the old spring to the garage. About 45 minutes later and a few more cigarette butts thrown into my garage, he asked how much the quote was for. I said it was $295, and he said okay. I mentioned that this seemed fairly high for the work he just accomplished, but he said he didn't set the rates as he was just a contractor. He then went to mention that I would need to replace the springs as what he was doing was only a temporary fix. I paid the gentleman and noticed that he actually worked for a different garage door company, so this was most likely a referral service and not done by Menalco. After he had left I decided to request a few quotes and research the cost of repair for the springs. Turns out to the springs themselves cost $20 from Home Depot, and most places charge $150 for labor costs. I paid twice that amount for a guy to reuse my old spring, which would need to be replaced anyway. So overall I was happy the issue was not more serious, but not happy with the guy leaving a number of cigarette butts in my garage and not saying anything about being severely overcharged for a repair and not a replacement job. In life you hope that people charge reasonable fees for service, although as they say caveat emptor. I do have a few other jobs for this garage now (e.g. installation of garage door opener, replacement of springs), but I would never use this company for those services. The exorbitant price for the repair does not warrant repeat business from me, but that's the price you pay when you don't provide reasonable fees for service. My suggestion next time is to do a bit more homework, get some more quotes (a lot are free or $29 to check out and that fee goes to costs of repair) before settling on a service company. I had the unfortunate luck of needing access to my car quickly and this company was able to take advantage of the situation.

    Rahat Construction Corp.
Kazi was a pleasure to work with. He was easy to reach and always on-time (I think I kept him waiting more times than the reverse). He was also always thinking about the best way to do the project, going above and beyond as new problems came up. We've worked with plenty of contractors who just wanted to get the job done as fast as possible. Kazi completed everything on time and on budget, but made sure that it was done right. Would definitely recommend.

Personable and professional service. My technician took the time to explain exactly what the problem was, and what needed to be done to correct the problem. Work was completed efficiently and neatly. All my experiences with precision have been great. Highly recommend.

    HOME DEPOT
I brought a new garage door and motor on-line with a 15% sale discount in September. They were suppose to call me within two (2) business days to schedule to come and measure. They never called me. Finally scheduled the measurement. Said they will be there between 10:00 to 12:00. I took half a day off from work. I called at 10:00 to confirm someone is on the way and I was told I wasn't on their schedule for the day. However, they can rearrange and have someone come between 12:00 and 1:00. Showed up at 1:30, now lost whole day of work. Took five minutes to measure and left. Two days later, I get an email from Home Depot requesting a change order for more than double the original price for "reframing". Needless to say, I flipped a lid. Contacted Home Depot who contacted the installer. Pretty much their attitude was to take it or leave it. I canceled the order and had another company do the work. They did cost more than Home Depot's original quote, but no "reframing" was required and ended up costing a lot less than the combined change order cost. Keep in mind, Home Depot subcontract out their installation work, so your experience may differ. Tried posting my displeasure on Home Depot website, but they responded politely that this does not meet their guidelines for posting reviews. BTW - I did ask for quotes on the reframing and the other contractors was less than 1/3 of what the subcontractor from Home Depot wanted or I was just told reframing is not required.

    H&O Garage Doors Masters
It was OK. What was described in the Big Deal is not what he did. The experience was not the greatest. The door still has a gap in it. The garage is much better than it was. I bought the big deal so the issue was resolved completely, but I am only 85% satisfied. The price was good for what he said was going to do, but not for what he actually did.
