Window Replacement reviews in Bronxville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Mike worked with my budget and saved me thousands here and there so I could keep on track. He even got certified in my county so he could work on my job! He went through the project step by step so that I would know what to expect at every stage of the project. Even when surprises happened, he was there to smooth things over. We passed every inspection without any problems. The apartment is almost done, and it looks amazing! I can't wait to move in!

  • Briko was fantastic - they gave me a fair quote and expertly completed the job within the agreed upon time frame. The deck is the absolute showpiece of my house and the source of much neighbor envy. Even though I continually tweaked the project as we went along (wanted decking fastened from the bottom) Brian (owner) and his team were super receptive and professional. I look forward to using Briko on my next home improvement project (new windows!).

  • They showed up on time (early actually) and finished all three floors within about an hour.  The windows look great.  I assumed they would have to take the screens outside or at least into the shower to clean them.  Instead, they have a special cleaning tool that does the job without using much water, so the screens are cleaned easily right where they are taken down.
Martin pointed out three windows that have condensation and may need to be replaced.   He also fixed one of the window shade brackets that was loose.
Martin is very personable and helpful.  More importantly, the windows look great!
We would definitely use LPG again.

  • Flavio, the owner, and his crew did an excellent job.  The carpentry work is of the highest quality, and the work was done in a timely, professional way.  Flavio worked with a local mill to recreate custom molding that was already in the house and he coordinated with lumber and door companies to ensure delivery and quality of the products we received.  He also coordinated with other contractors, like the electricians, to ensure the final product was of the highest quality.  He takes pride in his work, pays exceptional attention to details, and he ensured that he had the same vision of the end product as I did.
Overall, the job took approximately 6 weeks. Flavio and his crew were prompt and professional throughout.  They worked with my schedule, and made the entire process as easy as it good be for such a large job.
I recommend New York Carpentry without hesitation, and plan on using him again in the future for some custom cabinetry work.

  • While the work completed was done quickly and efficiently, scheduling appointments with this company is terrible. They don't show up for scheduled appointments and then you have to wait weeks for a new appointment. I will be using a more reliable company from now on.

  • They were terrific. They were very responsive and very professional. The quote was a really good written quote and the work is really good. It was just a really easy experience all the way around. I think the price was reasonable.

  • Rodrigo (the boss) came in mid-December and gave a clear and reasonable estimate. We agreed on getting the job done during the first full week of January. The crew of three showed up on Tuesday and then worked for a total of four days. There was a little variability among the crew but all were very pleasant and meticulous in their cleaning up after themselves each day. They moved all the furniture and tried to minimize the impact of their dusty job on the rest of the house. A carpenter showed up the second day and removed and installed new frames. Although he cursed the previous contractor, he eventually figure out how to rectify the problem and then did a beautiful job.
The crew is very friendly and keeps listening to a range of streamed music from Brazil, Peru, Cuba, and Mexico - very nice.
Our dining room as well as the combined living room / study now look splendid. If I had the money, I would immediately have them do the rest of the house. Rodrigo's estimate was very fair and they did not go over budget.

  • The company was very responsive to the initial e-mail inquiry.
They sent over a salesman who provided a proposal for the Okna 400 (Precision Weld) windows. I thought this was very strange since it is the bottom of the line, and their website touts the Envirostar window (the Okna 800 Series). In other words, they "advertise"
the energy savings by touting the most energy efficient window but then "sell" you the least efficient window.
I sent several e-mails asking for a price quote for the better quality windows but never received a response.
My wife finally called them and was told that the Envirostar window looked completely different and we wouldn't want that. Instead they sold up the middle-line window Okna 500 (insul-tec).
On the day of installation we received a call -- they hadn't measured the larger windows or realized how large they were, and they could not fit them in their van so they needed to reschedule.
Once the windows were installed, they did nothing to "finish" the job, meaning that we still had to paint around the casings. Maybe this isn't typical because the windows they had removed were not standard windows, but it surprised the heck out of me that they didn't make the windows look nice after removing the old ones and installing the new ones.
Granted, the proposal didn't say anything about painting the windows, but I didn't expect to be getting bare bones installation.
They left the stickers on the closet window but did not leave stickers on the larger windows. I assume that they installed the proper window but one couldn't really tell that from a sticker in any event.

  • Great experience - dad found Rick online, called him, connected him with me.  We set up a time for Rick to come and assess the damage.  He gave some thoughts, cleaned up the glass, took the damaged window to a colleague, and got home to repair it.  Rick had given us a range of expected costs, depending on whether it cold be repaired or had to be replaced.

He called me when it was ready.  Rick was flexible and met me outside regular business hours.  He brought back the repaired window, and explained that he was able to get it repaired, which saved us money.  He helped me clean up the wood we had on the window.  We were in a vulnerable position, and he could have refused the small job, or hiked the price, but he didn't.  He was meticulous about cleaning up, and treating this job as if it was a 6 figure one.

  • It is a pleasure working with them.  They gave realistic dates for the job and completed it as promised.  It went very smoothly because of their persistence in doing the job right.  Whenever a bump in the road appeared, they worked tirelessly to fix it.  I have found all the people at Peak to be very knowledgable, cooperative and responsive.  They really mean to please and satisfy the customer for a fair price.  I would and have highly recommended them to others.
