  • I had a leak under my sink with water pouring out. Also a leaky washer and warm but not hot water in two showers. I called Mark and he was incredibly responsive, set up a time at my convenience. He is a very young guy, but incredibly knowledgeable. You gotta love that Scottish brogue!! My kitchen sink is a great example of what to expect from him, it was simply a hose that needed tightening. He showed me the problem, including how to fix it myself in the future and fixed it in about 2 minutes. With the washer, he told me it was an issue for the manufacturer, which I appreciated. He was able to quickly turn my warm shower into a hot one. I appreciate his honesty and expertise, he was great. He is the one I will call if I need a plumber again.

  • My hot water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. After trying to get 2 bids I was very frustrated and turned to Angie's list. George answered the phone and spent a lot of time that day and the next helping me locate the heater that I wanted. He was so helpful where other plumbers were not. Others did not call back or want to entertain more than a few of my questions. I was so grateful to George Mejia for helping me through the purchase process. Once the heater was delivered to my house he and his helper removed the old one and spent several hours hooking up the new one. Every thing was done very professionally and the area was left in good condition. George was so kind and helpful I highly recommend him.

  • Service tech was knowledgable and professional.  He was personable and didn't try and give me a "hard sell" for any products and services.  He did suggest I replace the thermocouple, however I declined and decided to save myself the money and did it myself.

  • Got an estimate from Tom, who seemed quite personable and agreeable.  Agreed on the spot to do the whole job (oil to gas conversion) and a new gas water heater.  They fairly quickly set up an installation date which went ahead smoothly and in the promised 3 day period.  The installers seemed competent and professional.  Then the whole process fell apart.
    Within one day the water heater was not working.  It took 3 service calls to get one hot shower and it still  doesn't work as well as our old one which was 12 years old.  They told me that's the best they could do and if I wanted hot showers I should turn off the washing machine hook up each time I showered.  What?? I've never heard of such a thing.
    BUT the much bigger problems were with the conversion to gas heat. There is a lot of paperwork and things that need to get done in Yonkers (and I imagine all towns and cities) for this to all work out. (Oil tank removal, chimney inspection and cleaning, etc)  No one explained any of that to me.  So I figured it out when Yonkers sent me a letter telling me that my Certificate of Occupancy was being revoked because a inspection was never set up with the plumbing inspector.  It took several phone calls and emails and months to get Yost & Campbell to set this up.  THEN a Yost guy comes out to get the inspection done with Yonkers and tells me that they forgot to check for gas leaks which is supposed to be routine before any conversion is done.  He said he could have Yost & Campbell do it in the next week but if they found anything they would have to start tearing walls apart to find the source.  WHAT?  So I agreed to have them come back and at least inspect it for leaks.  And guess what ? That was 3 months ago and I never heard from them again.
    Con Ed has never been here to inspect the system because Yost was supposed to set that up as well.  So now I am dealing with Con Ed directly.  This was by far the worst home improvement experience I've had in 20 years of owning my house.I have a long e-mail trail documenting all this as well as the letters from Yonkers.  As well as my phone log which will show not a single incoming phone call from Yost & Campbell except to set up the installation. It's been a solid year and this job is still not officially completed on Yost's end and it probably never will be because I wouldn't deal with them again.

  • Technician was very courteous & professional. He checked out our central A/C, cleaned out some blockages in the condenser coil, and identified a small leak in the condensate pipe (for which he provided an estimate for future servicing). Our current filter is not the correct size, so the technician promised to drop the right one off at a future date. He also flushed our water heater, per the terms of the deal.
