Hauling reviews in Bronxville

  • The crew was great, hustled the whole move. Everything that needed padding, shrink wrap was done well. It was one of the hotter days of the summer and these guys worked through it. ONLY ISSUE: They were supposed to have 3 movers not 2. Not the workers fault, they did a great job.

  • there were two guys doing the work. The older one was very professional, the younger one was distracted by my home. for example, while removing old bedroom furniture, the young guy looked out the hall window and saw that I had a split roof and he commented on it saying "if I lived here, me and my friends would  be out there getting some sun and stuff". I was shocked to hear him say something like that. He was inappropriate as far as I am concerned.  I did not say anything to the older guy cause I didn't know their work history or if he was the guy to speak to. You are giving me a chance here to state what happened.

  • It's so big that they would have to dismantle it onsite and probably use a torch to cut through the iron and the frame. I figured it wouldn't be that expensive. They quoted me $400 to take it away. I might still do it. I thought it was a pretty decent estimate but I just decided not to go ahead and do it right now. I might do it in the future though. Two guys came in and they were thinking that they would be able to haul it out that morning, the morning of the appointment. When they saw what they were facing, the fact that the sofa itself was so large and they would have to squeeze it between some other furnishings in the basement, instead they're going to have to cut it up onsite and remove it piece by piece. That could be much more complicated a job than everyone thought it would be, including myself. They did give me the estimate on the same day that they came. They did come right away. They had two guys that were really ready to do the job. They kept the appointment. They were excellent service folks. It was just that the job was too complicated. The sofa is 96 inches or something. It is not a small job.

  • they were efficient and fast. they had to go into the attic and walk down a narrow staircase with large items. No damage was done to the staircase. They took out what I asked them to take quickly and efficiently  .

  • Jim is a terrific communicator.  He responded to all my questions/concerns in a very timely manner.  Jim and his team cleared out all the boxes and furniture from my (8'x8') storage room in Shelton CT, hauled everything to Bronxville NY and unloaded everything exactly as I asked.  I could not possibly have asked for a better experience. Jim and his team are, flat out, the very best in this very competitive field.  I would not hesitate to use his services again, whether for a short local/regional move or a big cross country haul.  Jim is as straightforward as they come... honest, true and to his word.  Look no further for a high-quality, stress-free moving experience.

I bought the $69 deal from Angie's List and when they got here they agreed that my junk was less than the 2 cubic yard maximum, but said that they had to charge me $50!  I told them I had bought the deal through Angie's List and they said: "That's Angie's List, not us.  We have to charge you something."  I sent them packing.  Now I need to get my $$ back from Angie's List.

I am writing this update a couple of weeks after the event and have to say that the confusion was resolved.  A gentleman from 1-800-GOT-JUNK called me and had his guys (the same guys) return to pick up my junk with no additional charge.  He was the area manager, and apparently, it is not unusual for area managers to set-up their own deals with Angie's List.   It was a frustrating morning with a lot of time calling both Angie's List and 1-800-GOT-JUNK to figure out what the heck was going on, but it did have a happy ending.

  • They were absolutely fantastic. They did a wonderful job. They came prepared to make sure the device was secured; they came with a large industrial role of saran wrap. They got it downstairs without scratching any of the walls. The people buying it also were happy with the delivery. The price was fair and they were professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

  • Gene is a model example of the type of professionalism and courtesy that every business should aspire towards.  It didn?t matter how many times I went over his pricing structure (due to indecision on my part), he was gladly able to repeat it as often as I asked without ever batting an eye.  When dealing with Gene, it is the client who is treated like a "King".  At each critical stage, he followed-up with a minimally invasive phone call or brief text message just to make sure things were progressing along as they should according to the expectations of the client.   In terms of the work Gene plans ahead and carefully manages his team so that everything runs as smooth as silk.  Without any compromise whatsoever, Gene and his team are so fast and efficient that before you know it the job is done without any hitches.   In terms of business structure, Gene's company is designed from the bottom-up to make things as easy as possible for the client from A-Z (he even had my email addressed memorized!).  Five stars out of five.

  • Overall, did a good job taking away the rubbish (a couple of things were left, though). He properly refused to take chemicals - I'll bring this to a county-sponsored disposal site. Indicated that he does furniture moves too - gave a very high estimate to do so. We decided not to take him up on this estimate.

  • Scheduled them to remove kitchen demolition debris from our backyard lawn. We were very explicit with them over the phone that it would consist of loose construction materials like broken ceramic tiles, Sheetrock, cabinets, insulation etc. They said "this is what we do!" Well, apparently they don't. When the crew arrived they balked. They were willing to take only 1/4 of the pile, but for double the amount we were quoted on the phone. Either the crew were just lazy and didn't feel like getting messy that day, or whomever we spoke to on the phone didn't understand what his company does.
