About EDM & our project overall. After evaluating several different contractors from the well established to the off-the books workers, we found EDM to be the best value. John's team were experienced professionals and his quotes were reasonably priced. John was very responsive to questions and returned phone calls very quickly. He made himself available to discuss the project every step of the way. The open communication made working with him and his team a very pleasant experience. John will let you pick your own materials and design. Then his team will install them as you instruct. His carpenter, electrician, tiling guy, and cabinet/countertop guy were experienced pros, that worked diligently and responded to feedback positively. Although we had adjustments to make during the project, they took care of it as instructed with no problem. The plumbing work was better than i expected. However, due to personal reasons his initial plumber had to leave during the project and John had to pull in another plumber who was even more experienced to finish the job. I would recommend John's team to do any kitchen and bath project. However, i would consult with him on the status of his plumber due to recent changes in his team. The changes in his team lead to my project taking longer than expected. Other than that, we are happy that we hired EDM. About our kitchen portion of the project. We had to completely demo & renovate a 1950's kitchen. This included splitting the large open space to add a full bathroom next to the new kitchen. It also included closing up an old window and relocating the window to another wall in the kitchen. We removed the old kitchen door and added a new door & storm door. The stove, sink & refrigerator was relocated in the kitchen and added a dishwasher. The refrigerator is encased by custom pantry cabinets. The old kitchen did not have traditional cabinets so we added tall 42" custom cabinets that flushed to the ceiling with molding. We chose custom fitted wrap around Quartz counter-top. The old kitchen had an old built-in cabinet which was demolished to open a walkway to the future bathroom. We added a microwave vent over the stove that vented through the top of the cabinets to outside. Installed recessed dimmable LED ceiling lighting, under cabinet lighting, an exterior floodlight and new electrical outlets for counter-top appliances. We installed porcelain tile flooring & tile back splash. During the kitchen installation, there were adjustments to be made in the cabinets but it was fixed with no hassle from his carpenter. The back door purchased was the wrong size and the replacement door from Home Depot was cracked. But John had it replaced and installed with no hassle or additional charge to me. His carpenter put extra effort during a winter storm which we appreciated. The kitchen came out beautiful. It is definitely an improvement to our home. About the bathroom portion of the project. The initial plumber did a good job installing new plumbing for the new bathroom. This included running piping through the basement to the main waste line which was far away. They also replaced & relocated some old piping that was in the way to make room for the new pipes. After his old plumber could not complete the project for personal reasons, John's substitute plumber finished the job installing new piping for the baseboard radiator. The bathroom included a tub with shower, dual flush toilet, sink over a base cabinet, a medicine cabinet with mirror, towel rack, toilet paper roll holder, a new door framed with molding. The tub ordered from home depot was cracked but John had it replaced with no hassle to me. The shower tiling included an artistic window illusion which was installed beautifully. There were some other minor tiling issues but they were corrected without any push back. Due to spacing issues we had a change in the sink cabinet but it was ultimately installed nicely. Overall the new spare bathroom on the main floor is now more beautiful than our master bathroom upstairs.

This is the third time I have used Champion for a major job, and I couldnt be happier. We had water penetrating from the wall and floor of our garage, and finally decided that it was coming up through the concrete. The garage floor was 80 years old and only an inch thick. I worked with Danny on a scope that addressed the garage floor, the rear concrete deck, the sidewalk, and also provided painting and finishing in the garage. He was very patient while working out the scope and cut back or found much cheaper solutions for parts of the job. As usual, during the work Danny called me every day (how often can you say that about a contractor) to let me know the status or check on decisions. He recommended a more durable screen door replacement and he also replaced an existing light fixture at no charge. We identified some additional drainage problems that contributed to the leakage, and quickly agreed to an expanded scope to cover drain repairs at a reasonable price. His crew were extremely considerate, timely, reliable and knowledgeable. All of his recommendations were solid, and he worked hard to accommodate our budget. Where he couldnt, he was absolutely correct in recommending a slightly more expensive solution to address unexpected conditions. Today we have a watertight garage (which I thought would never be possible) that is clean, painted and useful. We were able to park our car in it, avoiding a major snowstorm, for the first time in ten years. Heavy rainstorms have not produced water inside. Danny is trustworthy and reliable and we are pleased with the work of each member of his team.

Matt arrived on time and spent a full day to complete all installations and to ensure correct fit and operation in our 1930 house. He was very communicative and answered every concern we had so the doors not only look good but work well.

In 2013, Champion Home Remodeling did our kitchen The job was done so well. and we were so satisfied, we decided to use Danny and his crew again. The great thing about Danny is that he listens to what you have to say, and makes suggestions based on your ideas. We wanted a completely new room. That necessitated the complete demolition of the old one. Our house is 93 years old and it would be interesting to find out what was inside the walls. More on that later. We wanted new windows with blinds inside. We wanted two cabinets on either side of the windows on one side of the room. We wanted a split system air conditioning unit. We wanted ethernet available on every wall. We wanted a big television hung on the wall, accompanied by a home theater system. Yes indeed, big changes! Danny made some suggestions. A heat pump instead of a straight air comditioner. Removal of the old giant radiator which provided the only heat in favor of a short piece of baseboard to augment the heat pump. Let the demolition begin! It turns out, that our old house had had a roof leak sometime before we bought it in 1987. That old leak had created wet rot inside the wall, and had crumpled the beams inside the wall. It also affected the exterior wall and the siding on it. So now, besides what we wanted, what we needed would also have to be done. The serious work had begun! Suffice it to say, the work that was done far exceeded our expectations! Every aspect of the job turned out wonderfully. The walls, the floor, the outside of the house; everything was perfect. If you had never seen the room before, you could not appreciate the full extent of the upgrade. Every day the site was cleaned, all debris removed and the room made ready for the next day's labor. Every request we made was fulfilled; and we are now enjoying the fruits of their labor. We cannot recommend Champion highly enough. Master craftsmen, all!

So far everything has been fine. The windows open and close easily. The sliding doors look beautiful and open and close smoothly with little effort. I would recommend them to anyone that wants good service. I will use them again for my entry door.

The front door was mounted with an outswing, but the astragal was mounted on the inside of the door. As a result the door latches and strikers are exposed to elements and have rusted (see photo). There is water penetration on the floor. The door hinges have also rusted. I have been trying to mount my own astragal without success. I have contact Terry McKeon at Jilco for help solving this problem 1/2 a dozen times, and have never received a response, despite the so-called warranty.

Wonderful work! Misha and his team did everything we discussed and more and still got the job done ahead of schedule. He is highly responsive, has a great team, and does excellent work. He really cares about the details. For example, we live in an apartment building and Misha and his team were very careful to make sure that their shoes were clean whenever they went into the common areas. He also discovered that the previous owners didn't put flooring in certain hidden areas and he searched every hardware store until he found a perfect match of a discontinued wood. He also replaced all of the wiring that was not installed up to code by previous owners. I would highly recommend him!

Justin Burchard was the project manager and Chris Ann O'Neil was the designer. Justin and Chris Ann worked closely with me to ensure the work went smoothly and as I wished. There were bumps in the road as is expected, but they immediately resolved them with ease and professionalism. Chris Ann met with me 3X because I kept changing my tile selections. She never made me feel that she was inconvenienced, she only wanted to make me happy. As the work was being done Justin answered all my emails promptly and/or called me. Chris Ann and Justin even responded to my emails on the weekends. When the job was three quarters of the way done Chris Ann did a walk through with me on 2 occasions. She created a punch list, sent to Justin to ensure nothing fell through the cracks. I am now living in my fabulous new kitchen and bathroom! I'd also like to mention Patricia Tallini who was the project coordinator. Patricia organized all the paper work which is not a simple task! In addition, she went over costs and deadlines with me several times and was always pleasant and happy to serve me. I highly recommend Alure Home Improvements and suggest you visit there showroom. I had such a good time selecting cabinets, ceramic floor tiles, and bathroom tiles while there. The atmosphere is welcoming! Good luck with your project!

They came for an estimate. I didn't use them because they weren't able to customize the door that I wanted.  They're still a good company to deal with.  I just needed something special and they weren't able to do it.  They were definitely professional.  I know people that have used them before, that's why I used them.  I give them a B overall because I didn't use them for the whole job. They weren't able to accommodate, I understand why, but they do windows and door. I liked their courtesy, their professionalism & they knew what they were talking about.  Obviously, what I didn't like was that they weren't able to customize the door I picked out.  They told me about that a week later.  So, I didn't like that, but in this business I understand exactly what happened.  It's more of a manufacturer thing.  When you're dealing with people who are doing doors and windows, if they're doing 3rd party I understand they have to make a buck out of it, but I used another company. They were a little more expensive, but at least I knew they were the actual manufacturers of the door and they were actually doing everything from the ground up.  I would say they gave me a higher quality door for a couple of dollars extra and in the process they have a better system.  They called the same day, they kept the appointment and they followed up.  They were on time and they didn't stay too long.  In the future I would be more cautious about what I would use them for.  Like if it's for windows and it's a manufacturer I've heard of and it's high quality, yes, but if it's a low quality window I might as well try to do it myself.    Usually a brand door or window I would use the manufacturer, or if they're going to do it for more or less the same price and offer an extended warranty, they I'll use them.
