    Nicholas L Faustini Architect PC
It couldn't have gone any better and smoother. Nick listens to when we are looking for and tries to accommodate whenever possible. We cannot be any more pleased with his services. He was always professional, even while we had a toddler running about during our consultations.

    Gaudioso Contracting
A shout out to Anthony Gaudioso for running a tight ship; to Mary in the office for her friendly professionalism; to our Foreman Nicholas and his right-hand man, Juan.  Our kitchen is STUNNING. Stunning.  Gaudioso Contracting was professional from the get-go: prompt and courteous return calls; prompt arrival for appointments (or phone calls if delayed for some reason); understanding and responsive to any issues or concerns.  All of the workers were top notch.  This was a big job (at least for us) - a compete gut of our 17' x 10.5' kitchen and reversal/relocation of water and gas lines.  We tried desperately to fit a bathroom on the main floor of our 1910 house but, try as Anthony might (he even sent his architect to survey on his dime), it just couldn't happen.  That's okay -- we love it anyway!

The workers were courteous, neat and very competent. Nothing was left a mess; debris was stacked neatly in our driveway until there was enough for pick-up.  Nicholas, our Foreman, was wonderful.  His right hand man, Juan, is creative and meticulous. Juan devised and built custom touches, such as the faux soffit above our fridge and pantry area and the framing in the cut out to our dining room.

As with any project, there were one or two problems beyond Gaudioso's control that were handled seamlessly and diligently, and they ensured our satisfaction at no additional cost to us.  Any time we called with concerns or issues, the refrain was always "we'll take care of it and get back to you" -- any they did.  The electricians and plumbers they utilized were knowledgeable, courteous and professional.  In our circle of friends and family, we have had, hands-down, the best experience of any of them, and we're already thinking ahead to the next project we want Gaudioso to do -- finishing our basement.

It gives us great pleasure to be able to say we love our contractor!

I hired Edward Dickman, but he was a liar. He did not return calls, he was very vague, He was supposed to supply paper work to the D.O.B to get work permits, but he never did. When he did, his paper work was wrong. It was my general contractor that discovered all this nonsense, then I had to hire another contractor who did the job.I paid him a deposit, and I mistakenly paid him the entire fee because he kept asking for money. He was the lowest of every thing. I would give him a triple F. I would never in a hundred years recommend him.

    AMS Construction Corporation
So originally I had gotten a quote from A. Palmieri Landscape to do hardscape work including retaining walls & a new patio area. Right next to the patio area is a front stoop/stairway that leads from the pedestrian sidewalk up to my stairway which includes two set of stairs each containing six stairs. The area to be worked is shaped like an 'L'. A Palmieri was contracted to do the entire 'L' including the the two staircases. They were able to only do up to the first set of stairs right before my doorway only due to a 'stop work order' by the city building dept. This was due to A. Palmieri not being licensed or insured in the city but rather only licensed & insured in the outer-city towns of Yonkers, Westchester etc.. It turns out that my neighbor, directly next door to me, with his jealous mindset called the city building dept. which stopped the work. I was then given a $5,000 fine for working without a permit, ME THE HOMEOWNER!!! No violation was given to the contractor whom I had the contract arrangement with. I had no choice but to pay in order to continue with the work & complete it. But not before I received drawn up plans from an architect which needed to then be submitted to the city for approval. Enter AMS Construction & Abu Riaz. AMS construction does all forms of concrete/brick work & also has an in-house Architect & Expeditor working for them. The plans alone cost me over $4,236.13 Once the plans had been approved could begin the work. I'm glad I was able to find Abu on Angies List but was apprehensive & frustrated already by who I used from AL before. But I had to get things done as the front of my house was in disarray. During the winter of 2015 Abu was able to keep me informed to what was going on between AMS company, me & the city buildings dept. He was always updating me each step of the way. After I paid the $5,000 fine to the city & the plans were approved I needed a quote from AMS Construction to step in & finish what A Palmieri could not because they were not licensed in the city. (BTW I had asked both Anthony Palmieri & Raplh numerous times if we needed permits to work on the stairs & they both lied to me & told me no. Which is no something else I need to take up with AL) So AMS quoted me $4,642.13 to complete the work needed to be done. Since AMS already helped me with the plans I took into consideration of the new cost to complete but needed the work to be done. So I gave them the job. The work was finally complete in 5/2015. I'm so happy this entire ordeal is finally over & now behind me. It was a total inconvenience to me & my family & a costly one no doubt. All together just for this area of my home it cost me a total of $13,878.26. Which is totally separate from what I had to pay A. Palmieri Landscaping. Shame on them. I'm disgusted & very disappointed to say the least.

I?am a hands on Real Estate Investor & owner with extensive experience in all?phases of construction and remodeling. Despite my knowledge of construction and renovation, without Mr. Sharp's vision and expertise my wife and I would not have been as pleased with the results of?our current?co-op renovation.??His?vast knowledge of interior design and construction details has been invaluable.? He has guided us?with the selecting?of?furniture,?fabrics, colors, lighting, moldings, etc. and the kitchen design.?I am sure?one?could find an interior designer with lower fees, however I?am confident that?you will not get the level of knowledge and expertise that Mr. Sharp possesses.

    Dymling & McAvoy Inc
265The Dymling & McAvoy team has been great, we are forever grateful to have met them and are so happy that we chose them to transform our living spaces.
They started out with our apartment project, the design process was really great. Madeleine saw our vision and translated it into reality,
and better yet, it is more than we could have dreamed of. Same goes for our Country house, here Madeleine designed our addition and they are now in the process of starting the project. They guided us through the process of design, material and furniture selection. It was an exhausting task, we could not have done it without them, holding our hands and seeing us through.
Going though the construction phase is daunting, with strangers in your home, the constant dust and noise, dealing with everyday chores that all of a sudden seems insurmountable. We have to stress this, because the fact is unavoidable, it is quite tiring, and your patience will really be put to a test from time to time, yet Dymling & McAvoy was understanding, courteous, neat and cooperative when we sometimes had to make changes in the work schedule etc.
We have worked with contractors in the past and had so so experiences. Dymling & McAvoy has become dear family friends.
The construction of the apartment was a full gut renovation. We removed some walls, all floors, new sheet rock on walls and ceilings, one room became the library with mill work Joseph McAvoy created and installed, the kitchen was enlarged, new cabinets, counter tops, glass wall separating the living room from the kitchen that can be retractable. Two and half bathrooms were totally gutted, tiled and new fittings were put in. Hallway was converted into a gallery. The whole entire apartment was re-plastered,painted, some wall paper and Venetian plaster was done. All this work to a very high standard. Many details were added, some of them for free, just because the team liked it so much. How about that!
All their workers are very courteous and neat. Yes, it can be very messy, however each day they cleaned up and left the site organized and safe. Joseph was very meticulous about the project, he is a great leader and visionary and complements Madeleine's creativity, together with their employees they are a delight.
It is such an undertaking starting construction and the anxiety of all the money spent, the cost can run away in minutes. Madeleine was very good at keeping us within budget with a few exceptions, some splurges we did out of budget, hindsight we are very happy we went the extra mile. There were some problems with the kitchen cabinets, some of them were wrong, came broken and created some serious delays with the kitchen progress. Madeleine was a great advocate for us, she fought a battle worthy of a trooper, to have the kitchen manufacturer own up to their mistakes.
This company will have the best in mind for you and we are continuously working with them on other projects.

    HG Lee Architects PC
for my whole process of designing, approval by DOB it took about 4 months, since its my first time working on a project like this for my house, I didn't know how long would something like this would take. However, the main thing was that it was done and they guided me with all my needs and questions. I am very happy and their price was pretty good. I had called 2 Architects prior and their prices were 5000 and 7000. In addition, they never guaranteed me the main goal. Lee He Gin Architects did!! Nice people as well

    Jan Fogel
Ms. Fogel was very helpful and professional.  She had a great deal of knowledge on the subject matter and offered solutions to me although I was not a client.  Unfortunately, due to zoning laws I was not able to complete my project but I would strongly recommend Ms. Fogel.

Anthony was extremely professional. He was very punctual and very helpful explaining the different types of stains available. He gave me a great estimate, and completed the job on time. I was completely blown away with how beautiful my floor turned out. I will definitely send more customers his way!!!
