On or about 9/2009 I hired J and B Home Improvement, I note, he is now known as J*B Home Improvements-I had gotten 4, other estimates. J and B Home Impovement's price was mid level, but the real reason I hired J and B Home Improvements/Jeff Bashad, was because his place of business was only 15 blocks from my residence, and I felt in case of any problems it would be very easy for him to stop by. Boy was I wrong! A bad apple, always a bad apple-doesn't matter how close or far the rat is. In any case he began work, tearing down the old roofs. And at the finish all seemed ok, the new roof seemed fine, except there was a gap, where, because he tore off 3 old roofs there left a gap, that not only looked unsightly, but when ever it rained, water would come in through the gap and rain water would stream down the walls of my house like a water fall. I mentioned to Mr. Bashad that I did not like the way the gap looked, but he reassured me that, that is the way it would look until I put siding on the house-(Which by the way I was going to hire him to do, had he did a good job on the roof) and he knew this. Well, In March of 2010 such a storm we had, I had serveral water falls in the house, as well as roof shingles blow off the roof, (the new roof at this time was now only 6 months old). I called Jand B many, many times, which I documented-after the 10 called, I warned Jand B I would have to hire another contactor and I would file charges against him. No response-I believe Jand B called me once to tell me to file an insurance claim. That was the best Jand B would offer. Since this event I have had many roofers come to repair investigate, inspect and offer resolutions to this roof from Jand B h***. On 3/2009 I had My Way Contractors repair and install flashing on my roof, that Jand B should have done. 2010 I had Prime Home Improvement repair and install flashing around the chimey and repair interior of the house walls. I had GAF Corp. roof investigator come to inspect my roof, they wrote up a report which states the roof was not installed correctly and since Jand B is not a master elite roofer-there is no guarentee on shoddy workmenship. I have filed a consumer affairs complaint and he was fined, not sure of the amount, and I may have the complaint reopened with all these new investigations and reports, and charges, which at the time of filing the Comsumer Affairs report, I did not have. I have had Stewart roofers, Hanson Contractors, Allied Contractors all have inspected my roof issuing their recommendations-all claim the roof was installed incorrectly and all agree the roof does not have ice and water sheild, does not a drip edge, does not have flashing. I continue to persue this nighmare and all I can recommend is stay away from Jand B or what ever they chose to call themselves-stay far far away.

I could not believe the level of professionalism re timing and clean up. It was amazing. Roofing arrived first, laid out tarps around the house to collect all roofing debris. About a dozen guys stripped the roof, repaired bad wood, and shingled the roof in 5 hours flat. During that time, when they were done stripping the roof, the garbage truck arrives, wheel barrows were used to collect all the debris, dump it into the truck and the truck was gone. What amazed me is that then the debris tarps were rolled up and a new clean tarp was rolled out for the installation of the new roofing material, which arrived like clockwork, when they were needed. At the conclusion of this part of the process, one worker used a huge magnet to find any stray nail that may be in the grass, or on the ground. I really appreciated this step because I have a grandchild that loves to play in the grass. This is a serious operation! I was impressed and knew I would have no problems with the work to come. The siding was next. The first group of workers dismantled any and everything that might be in the way, (everything that gets attached to your house for utilities), removed all old leaders and gutters and then materials were delivered. They set up their equipment in the backyard behind my gate so when they were done working for the day, equipment and materials were not a neighborhood eyesore. The work proceed in the same professional way. It appears as if everyone has a specific job-either to do molding prep, apply insulation or siding, make sure the materials are in reach when they are needed to save time, or clean up waste from special cuts as they occur. I was instructed to shout out when I was going out and coming in the door for safety and never felt impeded in accessing my home during the work. The work lasted less than a week with a rain delay one day. Everything that needed to be reattached to the house was, and they made channels for the forever phone wires that ran outside the house, and enclosed them under the siding. NEAT is the word now for my house. At the conclusion of that work, everything was removed, all debris and equipment and my grounds were left as they were found. The next phase was the leaders and gutters. I was not home when this was done. I just came home and found it done and beautiful with no evidence (debris) that work had been done. The same for the installation of my copper roof, over the front bay window. It is just beautiful. I love it.
