Does a Painting Estimate Really Matter?

Interior Painting reviews in Briarwood

    NYC Home Improvement Construction Corporation
I knew very soon after Miguel stepped into my house that he was the truth. He assessed my ceiling damage and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix it. He applied stain blocker, mold remover and primer to repair damage and then did a bang up job on painting my ceiling. He showed up on time, as many times as needed to complete the job. I would highly recommend him for any work needed in your house.

    Mr. Painter NYC
Mr. Painter was excellent! Shlomi came over and gave a quote which was very reasonable. The team was professional, on time and did a wonderful job. The apartment looks brand new! The level of detail is such that you can't tell where the cracks existed.

    Color Control, LLC
Im very happy with the way things went with this contractor. The process of getting an estimate was uncomplicated. I reached their manager on the phone who was able to set me up with one of their painters and we set up an appointment. They came on time offered helpful advice on my job and gave me a reasonable estimate. They cleaned up after themselves the days they were here and I was happy with final result. The whole process was just pleasant and I didn't expect that because of my previous experiences with contractors. I will be using them again in the future.

    Nunez Construction and Painting
The job was done in a timely very professional manner. My wife was at home while they were doing the work and she felt very comfortable and respected. The concrete around the house was cut and new concrete was put in to fix the leaking problem. It now looks very neat and water is no longer leaking inside.

    Nunez Construction and Painting
After difficulty finding a contractor who would work with an extremely strict cooperative apartment board, I felt blessed to find Nunez Construction on Angie's List. I could not take advantage of one of the big deals for bathroom renovation because the deals were not available to coops. Estimates from other construction companies ran from $6,500 for labor only to a ridiculous $21,000 with, wink, wink, possible additional add-on costs. Completion estimates ranged anywhere from 4 days to 6 weeks.
Needless to say that by the time I met Efren Nunez I was more than a bit skeptical, yet, from first meeting with him, I felt I could trust this gentleman to keep costs to his job estimate and timeline. He showed concern and consideration every step of the way for my likes and dislikes and my needs and preferences. From day one. the hard-working and personable Nunez crew worked to perform the labor timely, remove all debris and to clean up after themselves. Mr. Nunez gave me a completion estimate of two weeks which I secretly scoffed at given that I had learned coops do not allow work done on Saturdays. We lost two Saturdays and one day that I did not feel well. The work started on a Monday, and finished on a Thursday after two more Mondays. Three weeks by my calculation, yet when I counted the actual number of days worked, they turned out to be fourteen (14), in effect two weeks!
I would recommend Nunez Construction, Inc; without hesitation and would use this construction company again in future.

    US Home Remodeling Corp
This company has simply been as professional and courteous as could be. Work has been performed cleanly, well, and quickly, and where issues arose they were discussed promptly, options were made available, and additional costs were reasonable and well-explained. I would urge anyone bidding out a home remodeling to contact this company you will not be disappointed.

    Westbrook Painting Corp.
I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $699.00 around March of 2011 with the intention of having 3 rooms painted in the summer. However, due to family tragedy, a prolonged healing process and unrealistic expectations, I was never able to take advantage of this deal.  I contacted Westbrook Painting Corp shortly before the expiration of my coupon and was visited by Eric who came to view the work that needed to be done.  About a week later he called me with an estimate ranging between $6000.00 and $12000.00 which included the added expense of repairing the plaster on my walls and ceiling which have many defects.  After hearing this estimate, I became very discouraged and bewildered because of the shocking difference in price from the $699.00 I had already paid.  I could be wrong but I started thinking that Angie's List may be in the business of practicing "bait and switch" tactics which discouraged and depressed me further. I felt suckered.  In any case, I can't say I found any faults with Westbrook Painting Corp. other than I wish I was given a written estimate instead of a verbal one.  Afterall, I paid $699.00 for my estimate.
Would I use Westbrook Painting Corp in the future? Probably, as long as I have up front knowledge of the potential costs before any money is paid. Would I purchase an Angie's List Big Deal again?  No. The Big Deals are extremely tempting and I appreciate the effort Angie's List, but I have learned an expensive lesson that it is best to contact the contractor yourself to get an estimate first.  This way you will know exactly what you need to spend to have the job done right.
Angie's List (if anyone at Angie's List is reading this), would it be too much to ask for a refund or maybe a partial refund of my $699.00? Just thought i would ask.

Matt Lee and his team of talented professionals transformed our co-op from dilapidated and out of date to a sparkling masterpiece. Matt worked closely with us to plan and select our new kitchen and bathroom appliances and fixtures, as well as reviewing every detail of the overall renovation plan. At every step in the process, down to the smallest detail, Matt or one of his team was available and super-responsive. Matt was patient through a lengthy board-approval process, understanding of our timing issues, and a total pleasure to work with. Unsolicited, our neighbors complimented us on Matt's team's professional demeanor, courtesy, and politeness. We were able to drop into on our apartment at any hour of the day during the work week and find a hive of intense activity. Matt's team didn't waste our time or our money. Since we've moved back in, Matt's team has immediately addressed some minor "fix" issues - at our convenience. In addition to the high praise Matt's team enjoyed, other neighbors have complimented us on the the quality and overall look of our apartment's renovation.
