    Everything is working. But I gave him a check and he came back and said he could not cash it. So, I asked for the check back and gave him cash. He never sent the check back and I have called twice and still do not have the check. I also had to look up the capacitor on the web for him. So I saw the price was $26. Still he charged me $100. I want my check back or the $35 to cancel with my bank.

    The man was very pleasant and answered all my questions. Scheduling was a bit hard. Waited about 3-4 weeks before he came. He was nice enough to change my AC filter. (I paid for it) Overall great experience.

    Affordable HVAC Service
    Barrington was prompt to our estimate meeting.  He walked me through the details of the systems that he sells and the pros/cons for each model.  We discussed placement of the inner and outer units and what would be most effective for my space.  Throughout our meeting Barrington was patient with my questions and attentive.  He gave me a fair price for the unit and installation and left without a deposit as my wife was not yet home.
    After calling back two hours later and letting Barrington know that I was ready to offer, he really impressed me.  Barrington offered to install the unit three days from our initial meeting, as he had the unit in stock and the availability in his schedule.  I did not have to wait, which was huge as I was actively renovating the basement.
    On the day of install Barrington and his helper were on time, clean and respectful of my home, and professional.  He walked me through the install and made sure that I was comfortable with all of the steps.  The installation went smoothly, and three hours later my ductless unit was up and running.
    I suppose the best endorsement that I can give is that I have already recommend Affordable HVAC to my father, and will continue to recommend and use this company in the future.  Top notch.

    Deep Freeze Refrigeration, A/C & Heating LLC
    The service was good and I would recommend it to make sure your unit is runnung smoothly.  Now, I did not purchase this via Angie's List as Deep Freeze had their own special going on for $5 less.  The $95 Angie's List Deal is good; the $90 Deep Freeze is a little better.
    It was a very busy day, and there was a ton of traffic, all I knew was that I was on the after 5pm list of appointments.  They called me to let me know that it would be a few hours after 5 and wanted to be sure that was ok.  They also called prior to coming by to make sure the that it was still ok...they arrived at 8pm.  So that is their biggest strike, but I understand it is a Friday on Long Island in the summer...traffic galore.
    They arrived at the house and once technician worked on the central air unit itself while the other technician inspected the air ducts.  After running a diagnostic on the machine, I was told that they needed to add coolant, which they quoted me for and I agreed (hence why my price is higher than the advertisement).  After they finished, they made sure the house was cooling off properly, showed me some tips on using my thermostat.

    The prior year I had Cool Solutions refill my A/C unit with R/22.  They refilled with dye as there was a leak in the unit.  They never returned that season even after I had called.  At the start of the next season I called again to have them inspect the system as the unit was not working and it required a recharge.  They diagnosed the problem in the coil of the air handler.  The mechanic said the owner would call to tell me what's required.   The owner called and said the manufacture no longer makes the unit and he could not get a replacement for the coil. They are all out of stock The entire unit would need to be replaced at a cost of $3500.  It was a bit much and I wasn't ready to spend the money, so I figured i would have them recharge  the system as they did the prior year and get one more season out of it while i saved for the replacement.  I was only expecting pay around $300, but when I got the bill for the recharge it was $694.  More than twice the previous season.  I was told they refilled it with 10lbs of r-22 when the prior year it only required 5 lbs.   I still should have been forewarned of the exorbitant expense, but that was my fault since i was expecting the same as the previous season when the was just under $300 with the extra fee for the dye.  
    Before I decided to fix the unit this season, I decided to call Rheem to check if the coils were out of stock for my unit.  I photoed the tags on the unit to make sure I had the proper serial number and model.   The customer representative informed that the unit is in stock and continues to be manufactured.

    Abalene Plumbing & Heating Inc
    Abalene was recommended by a friend and National Grid and after the work was completed I understood why they were recommended.  
      Tom came to my home and answered all my questions about the process.  He  explained everything about the system I was interested in and even gave me another option on the type of gas heat / hot water system I could get. 
        Abalene worked with me in scheduling and it was done in 2 days.  Four men came early Tuesday morning and before they left at 4 that day they had removed my old boiler and hot water heater and put in place a new boiler and hot water heater and we had hot water that night!   The chimney liner was also done and they did a great job cleaning up.  Wednesday the boiler was connected, the heat tested and an offset thermostat was installed. They took great care in doing the work  including the clean up. And the company Abalene used to remove the old oil tank also did a terrific job.
      Their office handled all the paperwork involved from getting the permits to arranging for the town inspection.  They even took care of any rebates I was entitled to.....I didn't have to worry about a thing. 
     Everyone, from the office workers to the plumbers, did a terrific job.   They all were very nice and I would highly recommend them to everyone!
