First of all, the delivery guy walked across my lawn, tracking in snow and mud that ended up getting all over the brand new carpet that I had just had installed in my bedroom. Also, the store gives you a 30-day guarantee to change any pieces or return pieces if you're not happy with them and I found out that they had a lower box spring that would make it easier for me to get onto the bed, as the one I originally ordered was a bit too high for me. I called them and waited on hold for so long that I had to end up hanging up because I had to go to work. I finally reached Customer Care and asked to have them deliver the lower box spring and take the old one away. They told me that the only way I could do this was for them to give me a refund for the first box spring, and for me to come back into the store and re-order it there, even though I already knew what I wanted, and to pay them another $119 for them to redeliver it. I wouldn't shop there again.

It was kind of like my husband and myself picked out the washer and the dryer. This was a very expensive washer and dryer, but they didn’t pressure us into getting anything. They just gave us the pros and cons of each different washer and whatever. The installation went good. They took out the old, put in the new and they had a very tight space to put it in. They actually hooked up the water lines and stuff for the washer, but we had to get a plumber for the gas line because they don’t do gas lines. I had no complaints. It was more than what I wanted to spend.

The sales people when over everything with you. When we had questions about the refrigerator that we brought, he could answer them. When it was time to write up the contract for us, we could see everything he was doing. There were no question marks on anything. He was very helpful. He spent a good deal of time with us, we went over a lot of refrigerators when we were there.

There were two guys that delivered it. They took out the old and brought in the new. Ours don?t open the traditional way, we had to have them reversed because of the type of kitchen we have, so they did that. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They give you a two-hour window, they were here before that two-hour window was up.

They reversed the doors, installed the water line to the refrigerator; and were in and out in about 15/20 minutes. I don?t know how they knew it, but about 15 minutes after they left, Lowes called us and asked how the delivery was. I am very happy with what we get from Lowes.

We had been wanting to restore a china closet that was my grandmother?s circa 1927.
A very dear friend had used the services of Franklin Furniture II L.L.C. some 15 years ago.
Well, when we met Louis Chirco of Franklin Furniture II L.L.C., on October 8th, we knew we had the right furniture fella.
He said that the piece was walnut, the top was solid birch and the glass was hand blown.  The china closet was
picked up on October 8th and returned to us on November 13th, looking phenomenal.  When Louis picked up
and brought the piece back it was handled with the utmost of care.  We did go down to the shop a few times, to
see the progress, discuss the color we wanted to see and finally to decide on the final laquer finish.
We made the right choice with Franklin Furniture and we would not hesitate to use them again and recommend using their services.
Louis and his staff are true masters in their art.
We had been nervous about letting this piece leave our home for refinishing, but Louis was very helpful and patient with us during this

    Universe Home Services
I had a great experience with Universe.  We converted an ancient oil system to gas.  As promised, Universe coordinated gas line installation and all other major facets of the conversion.  All I had to do was submit the rebate form.
I should start by saying that this was not an easy conversion. They did it in the middle of an awful July heat wave.  There was trouble removing the original burner. And, we had a steam return line that was routed through the legs of our oil tank.  The return line was cut and re-routed so that it would hug the wall and remain out of sight.
They did have to return a second time to complete the installation due to the return line and also due to poor placement of the burner.  After being asked to tuck the burner into the back corner, the first crew did the opposite and placed the burner and water heater so that they effectively cut off a 3 x 3 corner of my basement, rendering it inaccessible and useless.  The burner also blocked a wall where i intended to place a door to a storage area.  I called and explained the situation.  They sent a manager  named Tim right away.  Tim looked at the work and explained that it would be a tight fit to arrange the systems as I wanted.  He then arranged to have a second crew come in and do the work at no extra charge.
The second crew came and did an excellent job.  The unit was tucked away right where i envisioned it and I can now put in the door I wanted.

    Jay's Appliance Center
After a bad experience and cancelled order with a large retailer, we went to Jay's, which is where we should have gone first.  With our toddler and infant in tow, we were so happy that our salesperson Andy made the experience fast and easy.  He immediately showed us two machines (he knew exactly what we needed without much input) and gave us a great price on the one we wanted.  Delivery was quick and the company was friendly and professional.  We HIGHLY recommend Jay's (and Andy!)

Terrible experience - I had to call the corporate complaint department to complain and cancel my order.
I ordered a washer on 6/9 for delivery on 6/17. On 6/16 I got the window - 7:15am - 9:30am. On the delivery day (6/17), I received a call at 9:20 that it was not going to be delivered, no explanation, and that I had to call the store.
I went to the store in person - there was no explanation there either, beyond vague comments that 5 other people had complained, the computers have problems, it's the delivery company. I gave my contact information and was told that the manager would call me but to call the associate after 2 if I didn't hear from her. I called after 2 and the manager stood next to the associate to relay information to me - she wouldn't get on the phone (and I was being very polite)! Very demeaning to both the associate and to me. I was told to call the delivery company and schedule my own delivery -which is against Sears policy - but that it would be delivered today. The professional but frustrated employee at the delivery company told me that the manager had never returned his call, he never said that it could be delivered today, and that they typically do NOT make Sunday deliveries for sales from this location. He said he would call me back (to his credit, he did, but could only either deliver a day this week I was not available or in July).
I called customer service to lodge a complaint and was told I could speak to Sears shipping but declined, as the delivery company had left a message while I was on the phone. I listened to the message, found out the washer could only be delivered this Thursday (a day I am not available) or in July. I then called the store directly to cancel my order. After being on hold, the manager again wouldn't come to the phone - she was supposedly on the phone about my issue. I told the employee that I want my order cancelled - today. Her attitude was decidedly less friendly.
I called corporate back and was hung up on after the associate asked me to hold while she retrieved my file. I called again and was told that the original associate who took my complaint never logged it. She was able, however, to cancel the order. I'll be watching my credit card account to ensure that it happens.
To sum up: I scheduled a delivery 8 days in advance and was not told until 10 minutes before the window of delivery was up that it couldn't be delivered. I was told to go call the store and handle it myself. The store told me to go schedule my own delivery. The delivery company couldn't accommodate me (then again, customers are not supposed to be calling them). Corporate attempted to ignore my complaint and offered nothing for all this time and inconvenience. it's Father's Day and I have a toddler and infant - I don't have the time to be on the phone all day or wait for deliveries that are not arriving. I also desperately need a working washer machine - mine is currently leaking all over my basement but I can't disconnect it because I need to use it. I will never buy from Sears again based on the awful customer service.

Update - 6/29: I've been back to the store and spoken to Customer Solutions multiple times and STILL no refund of my money. PLEASE do not buy from Sears, especially online - or from an outlet. They are quick to take your money but, I have been told, have difficulty refunding on a cancelled order.

Update 7/5 - JUST got my refund today. Last weekend, a man from Sears called to sell us an extended warrantee on the machine we never received. He told us that there is a complaint line that customers cannot call but he could put us in touch with this department (a secret complaint department?) I received a call the next day from this department. Though that was Monday and I received my refund Thursday (today), the woman with who I spoke did NOTHING to convince me to ever shop at Sears again. I have to pay interest on my credit card because the refund took so long and Sears does NOT care. Supposedly my complaint is going to be addressed, but I doubt it. I even asked her why I should shop at Sears again and she had no answer.

Our experiences with this particular store have always been wonderful. We bought furniture there several times and we always received it when promised. Their prices may be a bit higher than other furniture stores, however, the quality is excellent. You definitely get what you pay for.

The sales people are nice, but the quality of the furniture we purchased is terrible. The dresser and nightstands chip very easily and are difficult to clean. We were told that we were getting the best mattress and it wouldn't need to be turned because of coils on the side that would help the mattress keep its shape. The mattress also has a pillow-type top. We bought the set approximately nine months ago and already the mattress is puffed up in one spot and I can't get the original shape restored. I would never purchase furniture from this store in the future.
