    Ageless Chimney, Inc.
The work was done in Oct. ob 2017. I wanted to wait a few months to see how their work held up before giving a review. Bob and his helper did the work. They did an excellent job of rebuilding a few rows of the chimney and repointing it. I am very satisfied with the work and the price of the job. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

This was the original install of the first gas fireplace that we had because we couldn’t keep that one; because that fireplace vented up through the chimney. A gas insert vents out, so that is why we couldn’t have a gas insert anymore. If we wanted to rebuild the chimney we had to get a permit from the town. They are very high quality, I can’t complain about them, nothing.

It used to be a wood burning fireplace and over the years there was a problem with the chimney. Water was getting in, there was a musty smell in the living room and the chimney was actually coming away from the house. We had them come out and we got different things that could be done. They took that fireplace out. This was a gas insert that was in there. There were two different ones. They gave us a credit for the fireplace that they took out towards the work that they did. They took the chimney down to the required level for the gas insert and they installed that.

It was a lot of work. It was a long time getting it done. We had to have pieces of the siding and the roof replaced. It took a couple of weeks. We had to wait for the insert to come in. They took the other one out and we had to close off the opening so our cats wouldn?t get in there. We had to wait for the insert to come in. They took the chimney down and they closed off the top part of the chimney. They drilled a hole for the thing to vent out because that vent is different from the gas.

I was glad it was over. I like Embers, both times that they were in my house. They are really good. They were neat and clean. That was a really messy job. It was more than I wanted to spend. They gave us a contract, itemized everything. It went over everything, everything they did, if there was a change in price it was written down. It was very professional with everything. Even if we changed our minds on something and wanted something different. If it was more money or if it was less money, they would cross it off and give us the credit. We have a copy of that contract, they have a copy of that contract. I watch People?s Court, so I know to get it in writing. They did it without us even asking.

They were so great, called before they showed up, in the correct time span they said they would be. Very professional service men. They cleaned up after the job was done. I would definitely recommend them.

it's BBQ season so I made the appt in April for a May appt. They called ahead to confirm and arrived on time. The tech had to go back to the store and get a part which he did promptly and even cleaned out the grill to give it better performance.

    Highlander Roofing
HIGHLANDER did my roof about 10 years ago. They did a good job back then and we were very pleased, HOWEVER we developed a couple of leaks recently and when I called them , I DID NOT get a call back. I called a few times !_x000D_|I literally live around the corner, so I cannot figure out why they wouldn"t respond._x000D_|So this is why I consider them to be an irresponsible and unprofessional roofing company and I WILL NOT recommend them to anyone !!

    Fred's Chimney Magic
I had purchased a Big Deal for $149 which gave me $300 credit towards a job. We recently had a large bush removed which had blocked the view to the chimney. Without the bush, we were able to see just how bad our chimney looked. I mainly wanted cosmetic repairs done. Fred came over for a consultation and was able to immediately spot other problems that were more important than cosmetic. He is so knowlegdable that I trusted his judgment. He broke down the pricing so that we could decide on how much or how little we wanted done. We took his advice on most of what he recommended. He was prompt, courteous, took the time to explain thoroughly what he was doing.  I would definitly use him again if the need arises.

    Fred's Chimney Magic
Was charged $59 for cleaning and $129 for nest removal.  Initially I felt the nest removal price were a bit high until I learn that the entire pipe was stuffed with twigs. They had to try several methods in order to clear the pipe.  Overall they provided a good service.  However I felt their pricing for recommended replacement chimney covers were a bit overpriced after I found similar ones online for a fraction of the price.

After spending New Year's Eve away from my home, I returned on New Year's Day to a cold house that was without hot water. The company that I have my boiler contract with came within a few hours and determined that the boiler shut off because the flue was blocked. They gave me two chimney company recommendations, and Chimney King was one of them. I checked out the reviews on Angie's List and decided to give them a call.
Chimney King came out to my house on the same day I called them. Two workers came to my home to assess the situation and give an estimate. It was determined that my chimney liner was crumbling, most likely as a result of my recent gas conversion. I was told that the gas was drying out the liner, causing it to crumble. The Chimney King workers suggested that I replace the crumbling ceramic liner with a new stainless steel liner. They would also replace the cap.
I was initially quoted a price of $1300. After a little bit of negotiating, I was able to get the price down to $1080, which seemed reasonable based on other Angie's List reviews.
I was told that the liner could be replaced the following day, and that it could take about two hours to complete. Based on the location of my boiler and chimney, which is a tight, cramped area, the time could be more or less than the estimate. I was concerned about the timing of the entire issue because I was just returning to work after being off for the CHristmas holiday. I was nervous about taking more time off from work. The Chimney King worker said that they normally arrive at their first job between 7:30-8:00. I told him I had to go into work after the replacement. The worker told me that he could be at my home by 7:10, if that would work for me. It did.
The following day, the worker showed up with a partner at 7:10 on the dot. They worked diligently for about two hours. They were clean and did a very good job. They finished by 9:10, and I was at my own job by 10:00!
I would recommend this company. They were willing to work with me and meet my needs. The only thing that concerns me is that I was able to get a lower price than initially quoted. I wish companies would just give their best and lowest price. It makes me wonder if I could have talked them down to an even lower price. It also makes me mad that they would have taken $1300, had I not haggled. But I suppose this is the case with anyone who walks through the door to do work on your home. I still feel as if their pricing was fair based on the pricing I researched on Angie's List.
I would use this company again.
