We are so pleased with our new bathroom and loved working with Cris and his crew. They did a great job! Cris is so kind and calm and we enjoyed having him and his crew in our house. They were on time every day and completed the work in a timely manner. While they were in our house, they were respectful and cleaned up every day. A few unexpected issues came up (rotted subflooring and a moldy wall behind the old tub), and Cris repaired everything and charged a very fair price for these unexpected repairs. (Maybe I watch too much HGTV, but there always seems to be so much panic around these types of problems. Cris was always calm and in control, and I had complete confidence in him). We love everything about our bathroom, especially the tile work. We give Cris and his crew our highest recommendation and wish we had more renovation projects as we would definitely hire him again. Thanks to Cris, the entire process was completely stress-free!

Russell B Bleakley Plumbing & Heating Inc
The sink was so bad that I actually went and bought a new faucet assembly for a pedestal sink because the cold water faucet was corroded beyond repair - so I thought - but the plumber worked so hard and finally got the faucet to work so I ended up returning the faucet to the store. The second job was a leak in a pipe overhead - a pipe from a larger supply pipe in the basement to the outdoor faucet. When the valve was opened on the main pipe, the faucet pipe was not strong enough to transfer the water to the outdoor faucet (when that faucet was closed) and leaked into the ceiling and wall and onto the basement floor by the time I discovered it - it was a slow leak. The plumber knocked a hole in the ceiling - through cement and wire mesh - and found the leak. Fixing it would mean re-piping the entire line across a basement ceiling, through walls, and out to the faucet and this job was not worth undertaking because I have other outdoor faucets. So the plumber did not do anything more but gave me the name of an excellent person to repair the hole in the ceiling. An unscrupulous plumber could have talked a homeowner into a $2000-$3000 plumbing job.

SPQR--Marco Baldi--helped us finalize the design, choose the counter material and decide exactly what the finished space would look like. Then he provided a detailed estimate and did the job. Marco was incredible. He made what can be an overwhelming experience painless and fast! Marco was conscientious, thorough and expert. He knows every aspect of the work. His estimate was detailed and he stuck to it to the dime.

SPQR--Marco Baldi--helped us finalize the design, choose the counter material (after considering wood block and granite we went with Cambria engineered quartz) and decide exactly what the finished space would look like. Then he provided a detailed estimate and did the job. Marco made what can be an overwhelming experience painless and fast! He was conscientious, thorough and expert. He knows every aspect of the work, plus he explains the status of the job every day. His estimate was detailed and he stuck to it.

I couldn't be more pleased. All the work surpassed my expectations. The did extensive remodeling after a flood caused by frozen pipes. The kitchen is extraordinary. The floors look better than they ever did. They painting and repair of walks and woodwork is amazing. John gave me advice and input throughout this process. He immediately responded to all my queries. I trust him and recommend Evolve without any reservations.

    Affordable Kitchen and Bath Inc
See my previous 1st review on 2/10/2015 which was demo day.

After demo day, the job was a disaster. Larry from Affordable Kitchen and Bath made empty promises. He said he had done about 3000 bathrooms and our job would be done in 2 weeks. Well, our bathroom was just finished after 7 weeks only because he didn't finish the job, If he was still working on the job, it still wouldn't be finished. He didn't come when he was supposed to, wouldn't return phone calls, wouldn't answer questions in emails or texts.

In the beginning Larry said he would handle the design aspect by giving us the name of 2 stores to pick out our bathroom appliances based on our budget but after the job started, he decided that he would bring the designs to us. After waiting more than a week for him to bring choices for tile, vanity and sink, etc, he brought only a few cheaper tile choices from what appeared to be from Home Depot. We knew now the bathroom would be delayed in getting finished because the designs and specific pieces for the bathroom were not picked out yet.

Larry never took notes so he never remembered our conversations regarding the layout of our bathroom or for what our design style was and then blamed me, (the wife) for changing my mind.  My husband and I specifically told him we wanted a stand alone tub and he chose an apron tub sight unseen by us.

We had to tell him that the bathroom needed 2 lights - one in the center and one over the medicine cabinet. He was ready to have only 1 light in a master bathroom. He then got annoyed because we wanted 2 separate light switches.

Larry also changed his mind (when he saw the job was taking longer than expected) and didn't think we needed a door on the shower nor did he think we needed tile against the wall where the bathtub and plumbing would be.

Larry got annoyed when my husband and I realized that the pocket door which was the entrance to the bathroom from our master walk-in closet had to be moved over as we realized there was not enough space for us to walk through without having to walk in sideways into the bathroom and knock into the vanity sink.

Larry also bought the mixers for the bathroom shower and bathtub without the rest of the kit (no spout, no shower head) so you have to run around trying to find the right brand and model that will go with that particular mixer.

When I asked him why, he said so "I can pick out what I like." Who buys a mixer without the entire kit for the shower and/or bathtub when its a brand new renovation??

When I was explaining my issues to Larry, he rolled his eyes at me and told my husband everything was my fault.

I ended up being the designer and head contractor. I was running around picking out my own designs, colors, tiles and vanity.

Jose the subcontractor was wonderful to work with - hard working, reliable and aimed to please.

Larry just wanted the job done quickly.

Save yourself alot of time and aggravation and choose anyone else but this company!!

It went well. The team worked efficiently and got it all done. We were able to make some changes along the way. They had some skilled workers who were able to make good suggestions and add some nice touches. All in all we would work with Juan and JBM Construction again.

It went great: this is the kind of contractor I was hoping to find when I joined Angie's List. We?ve employed many different craftsmen at my house over the years?plumbers, roofers, electricians, carpenters?and I have to say that Marco Baldi (he seems to be SPQR, I'm not sure what the letters stand for) has been the best experience we?ve ever had. The cost was reasonable (we had three estimates from Angie?s Listed contractors and his was in the middle), the work was top quality and Marco and his assistant were extremely conscientious about out house. It's our master bathroom, so we were worried about everything getting dusty and messed up with workers coming through our bedroom, but Marco set up every morning and cleaned up every evening completely. He gave his professional suggestions about tile design and grout color, always explaining options clearly. He was patient enough to teach me a little about retiling a shower. When I told him that I planned to do a little tiling project of my own later this summer, he actually volunteered to answer any questions I might have when I do it! This is unprecedented in my experience. I?ve had helpful plumbers (from Spano) explain what they were doing so that I could try my hand at it the next time, but I can?t imagine anybody saying, as Marco did with me, ?Call me when you need advice when you?re doing your project.? He is a talented, honest contractor and a really good guy.

    Suburban Improvements
Suburban Improvements does any home improvements. He's done other work for me. He replaced a whole bunch of windows in my garage in the past and he re-did some interior work in the front wall in my house. He always did the front entryway a couple of weeks ago. His prices are very, very reasonable. He's very good. He does good stuff. He comes when he says he's going to come. He does his work and he does it well. I'm very happy with him.

John arrived exactly when he'd said he would and made a thorough and professional estimate. He was friendly and informative. He is obviously an expert. I'd gotten three estimates and went with one a little lower than JR's, but I wouldn't hesitate to contact JR Marble Tile for any future jobs.
