Dr. Zienes is a phenomenally wonderful dentist. Every single part of the office visit was a joy. He made the visit feel like a treat to myself. Not only was he very highly skilled, his ability to detect what issues lie around other issues , because he treats the whole person, not just the teeth. He clearly puts the patient first, is frank and gentle at the same time. When he saw I was nervous he made a joke that instantly made me relax, his questions around my history produced a very comprehensive analysis of the problems I am having, when I went in for an emergency visit, he took the time to get added information together to help me understand a lot more about what is going wrong and what we can do about it. BUT none of his suggestions in any way forceful, he is not in this for the money, its because he loves to heal and prevent pain. After the procedure was finished, he did a bite adjustment with a massage, which left me feeling like a brand new woman. I was grinning from ear to ear all day after my office visit to repair a bridge. WONDERFUL DENTIST AND GIFT TO THE WORLD .

    Gelbart, Dr. Michael
The work was painless and it has been a couple of months now and my chewing abitities have been restored.  Dr Gelbart is a professional with an excellent personality and a very skilled surgen.  Dr Gelbart had come highly recommended by my wife.  She had 16 implants done all by Dr Gelbert.  I highly recommend him.

Very expensive, but excellent, meticulous work and follow-up. Communicating costs and extent of work needed for 5 implants could have been better, but I also take responsibility for not 'nailing down' all of those details from the start.

After questioning if I was in any immediate pain, my first appointment was scheduled, it was up to me to go.....so I did. The first appointment was a look-see and and quot;Let's make a plan.and quot; I explained to the new doctor I was seeing (Dr. Kronick) my current insurance benefits, that I had actually been working towards a goal of getting my smile back, had been having extractions the last few years in prep of perhaps some dentures, and that I wanted to work over the next few years to max out my yearly benefits towards that long-term goal. Dr. Kronick was anything BUT a new dentist (25 years practice out of the area). After concern over any current pain, Dr. Kronick worked with me to stay within my insurance limits and provide his services to help me towards that goal smiling again. Things could not have gone any better. The first visit took care of some hot spots. By the end of my second visit, my wife said I was smiling without embarassment for the first time in many moons. Third and fouth visits were equally well performed and received. One more visit is planned this year, then I'll be back in January to work on the next stage. The people at Pine Street Dental met my most immediate goals without hesitation: eliminate the fear, and bring back the smile. I would highly recommend Pine Street Dental. They are just plain good, honest, hard-working Catskill region people. (BTW, this is my first review since hooking up with Angie....I hope it helps someone else find some relief.king

He is expensive but he is the best. The communication is great and so is his bedside manner. They have the most modern equipment. The office is clean and nice. The staff is great, very supportive, friendly and efficient.

Booking and appointment with Dr Letizia was very easy. Her administrative staff are very pleasant and try to accomodate your needs. The office location is easy to get to. As you walk in there are windchimes outside that sound nice when there's a breeze. The waiting room is very pleasing and comfortable.  Dr Letizia has a good personality. My crown became loose and needed to be recemented. Dr Letizia removed the crown but did not clean it out or sanitize the inside of the crown before recementing it. A week later it loosened up again and had to be recemented but I chose to go another dentist to have that done.

    Gelbart, Dr. Michael
This was the second attempt on an implant that failed on the first try.  The first one failed a few days after the final prosthetic was installed.  Dr. Gelbart agreed to try a second implant at his cost since the first one failed.  Everything went well until he tried to remove the temporary crown.  During the process the implant post broke loose again from the bone.   He appeared to be rather upset and walked out of the room saying "I made his day".  He came back in a few minutes and pulled the implant post out with no anesthetic.  Needless to say it was very painful.   This was extremely unprofessional behavior!    When I called to close my account I was referred to the office manager.  I told her my story.  A few days later I received a phone message from Dr. Gelbart apologizing for what happened.    He said he was under a lot of pressure due to various events in his personal life.  I have not returned to his office and transferred my account to another office where I am very happy with the service I'm receiving

Lousy. Dr. Pai was often brusque in his demeanor. Once he told me not to be such a "baby". Twice I had dental implants there. I only used him because me general dentist really wanted me to go to this guy. The first time, the implant wasn't given enough time to heal, and it didn't "take". Had to re-do it. OK, so everyone makes mistakes, and maybe my physiology is different. So I went with it, even though it cost more money (and he's not cheap). The second time the implant was placed, he brought me in, and I reminded him of the problems with the first implant. I told him it didn't feel right, and maybe we should wait longer. He was very disdainful of my opinion and said, "You'll be fine." When he tugged on the healing cap to take it off, I screamed and almost went through the ceiling. Turns out, sure enough, the implant was only partially healed into the bone, and essentially he had ripped it out along with the healing cap. I told him after everything else I didn't think I should be charged to have it redone again. He deigned to give me a "break" in the cost, but that was it. I should have taken him to court.

Dr. Letizia has been nothing but incompetent for anything beyond basic routine dentistry. She and her staff are nice, but what you want is competence. I've had problems with crowns that didn't take, an implant that was more of a "place holder" than an actual tooth, and most recently, a post and crown that came out of an implant. She tried to stick it back together with dental cement, which created a whole other nightmare situation. Every other dental professional during this ongoing ordeal said that using dental cement on an abutment to try and stick back into an implant is the last thing that should have been done. She refuses to take any responsibility for her actions, has made what sounds like desperate excuses, and has had the temerity to try and charge for related expenses (a gingivectomy for $300, then she would give me a "break" for replacement of crown, though other dentists said it didn't need replacement)
