    THE LINER SPECIALISTS, INC
Someone was supposed to show between 8am and 9am. I called at 9:09am. They said I was scheduled for today and the person should be to me soon. No one showed and I received no phone calls. At 10:04am I called the office back. The girl said that they should be to my house in 5 minutes because they left the office a little while ago and it only takes 15 minutes to get to me from Carmel. Why did this same girl not know this at 9:09am when I called and why did no one call me to say they would be late knowing the person left the office 15 minutes ago? I waited until 10:20 and no one showed. I had to leave to go to work. I lost half a day of work for nothing. When I called the girl at 10:20 (one hour and 20 minutes after the latest time they were supposed to have arrived) the girl seemed to be annoyed that I could no longer wait!

    FISHKILL POOLS
A few months ago I wrote a review and mistakenly gave Fishkill Pools an F. The review was supposed to have been for Rainbow Pools and NOT Fishkill Pools. I offer my sincere apologies to Fishkill Pools and thank the owner for handling the situation with class and patience. Sorry, again.

    RAINBOW POOLS & SPAS
They did what they called a pool opening last year that cost a lot of money but I had to have a company do it since I had just purchased the home and did not know too much about pools. I relied on a "reputable" company do the opening thinking they would know what they were doing especially since it cost so much. They were there for less than one hour and claimed they did a lot to warrant the price of the opening. The pool never got clean enough to swim in. After weeks and weeks of going back and forth with water samples, buying chemicals, etc., someone who knows about pools finally figure out what the problem with my pool was. There was a piece that was never installed during the pool opening that moves the water in a circular motion instead of just shooting straight out.  How does a company charge that much money for work that is not done. The pool was never opened completely because of that. You would think they would send someone out who knows what they are doing. I tried to contact them last year and all they did was read to me what the service person wrote on the invoice. After they scheduled me for another pool opening this year which I did not ask for or want and will not be doing with Fishill Pools, I told them why and the woman on the phone said okay and we got off the phone. Horrible service. Horrible customer service.

    RAINBOW POOLS & SPAS
They are expensive for the little bit of work that the did or allegedly did. They showed up late. They are expensive. I requested a pool opening. They did what was stated above AND they were there for just over one hour. They do not remove any leaves or anything that is in the pool and for them to come back to do that would be an additional $140 per hour.  I spent $380.49 for a cover to be removed and chemicals to be added!

AAA Liner & Cover Experts Corp
I found this company online, they responded immediately to my inquiry and sent a representative to my house. I picked out my pool lining and we scheduled a date to have it installed. They were prompt and did a great job. They even left my dogs footprints in the vermiculate as I asked instead of fixing it.

    RONALD DESCHESNE CONTRACTING
It started out lovely. Ron came every day, had a great attitude, and was making good progress. After a few weeks, that changed rapidly. He stopped coming every day, stopped coming on time, and started arguments with us several times regarding things he accused us of changing, though they were things that he had not written down correctly during the bidding process, so he was confusing himself. Also, we had not set a payment schedule, so assumed that we would keep with as the large deposit upfront (which we paid) and the rest upon completion. That wasn't the case. Ron demanded a check once a week, and when we expressed our discomfort in paying him more money than visible progress, he got very upset and laid on the guilt trip, explaining that he could A)not pay his mortgage unless we paid him, or B) could not do another stitch of work or buy another supply unless we gave him a check right then and there. It was very uncomfortable, but we're too nice to let him go without "paying his mortgage." We learned a valuable lesson in that regard, though. It was clear that Ron had other jobs to get to, so he stopped coming altogether after a certain point. Our job was unfinished, and he had a lot more of our money in his pocket than work completed. He promised he would be back in a week, then a few days later, after many phone calls from us, promised the next week, then the day before he was to return, he called and said one more week. I expressed great concern to him, to no avail. Ron returned that following week, but clearly had a large chip on his shoulder. He walked in so I could show him where the materials were to do the main project for that day, and as I was explaining it, his face turned red and puffed up, I swear I could see smoke coming out of his ears and nose, and he looked at me with disdain, and called me a liar. He said I had never told him those things, that I kept changing things on him. Nothing was changed. I explained this project to him, very clearly, with my husband, in the bidding process. He clearly wrote it down wrong. But I didn't want someone with that sort of attitude working on that project, so I told him to forget it, let's move on to finishing the sunroom. Throughout his progress in the sunroom, he broke one of our windows completely. Feeling bad for him and his apparent money troubles, we told him we would pay for the window at the agreed price of $10-20. But that last day, he demanded I give him $40 right then and there to cover the window. I asked for a receipt, since the price had changed, and that send him over the edge. He completely lost it, accused me of not trusting him, of lying to him, and many other expletives. It was a Ron I had never seen before. I let him go, because I felt very threatened and uncomfortable with him being in our house. He later left a threatening VM on my husband's cell phone saying, "DO NOT ANNOY ME, I DON'T WANT THIS TO GET UGLY."
