    Amy Novatt MD
She has a wonderful, gentle bedside manner. During painful procedures, she knows how to provide relaxation techniques to help reduce the pain. I've had these painful procedures done by other doctors and believe me, they hurt! But when Dr. Novatt performed them, it didn't hurt at all. She was willing to be proactive with invasive tests that I wanted to help me prevent dying of uterine cancer like my sister did, and thanks to her, they did find uterine cancer at a very early and curable stage. She is knowledgeable and kind and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Wertheim is excellent: knowledgeable, decisive, attentive to my questions, and able to explain everything to my satisfaction. Really everything you could want, especially in an oncologist. I arrived at her door after developing a huge ovarian cyst and an enlarged fallopian tube. However after examining the ultrasound report from another Dr. - and learning that I had had a uterine infection after an endometrial ablation three months before - she quickly concluded that the condition of my ovary and fallopian tube had everything to do with that infection, and nothing to do with cancer. In spite of this, the ovary and fallopian tube needed to come out, so a hysterectomy was recommended. She told me that she would be "shocked" if I had cancer (and she was right!), which greatly reduced my anxiety prior to receiving the pathology report post-surgery. She was very conservative, however, and stressed that she intended to keep my good ovary to avoid early menopause and the less-optimal scenario of hormone replacement over the "real thing." She took into account my chronic depression, too, saying that in my case, it was more important than ever to keep at least one ovary, because the effects on depression with hormone replacement were unpredictable/dangerous to mental health. In essence: she actually read my whole chart and took into account how her work - the hysterectomy - would affect my health as a whole. Now truly, in today's age of referrals and seeing new doctors at the drop of a hat: how many physicians actually do this? Not many in my book. She is a wonderful exception to this. I had a "robotically-assisted laproscopic hysterectomy" at Northern Westchester Hospital performed by Dr. Wertheim. She got me into surgery within two weeks of my consult with her. 3 1/2 weeks post-op I feel like a million bucks! In the end, I'm left with one good ovary, and haven't felt a bit different hormonally/mentally since the surgery. Total success! I would recommend her to anyone with complete confidence. I thank my lucky stars I found her.

I stopped getting regular periods when I was 38. Over the next 7 years I went to 5 different doctors who could not diagnose me correctly. I'd been subjected to every possible test and some of them were very painful at the previous "doctors" I went to. She diagnosed me on the first visit with pylycystic ovarian syndrome and backed it up with a simple blood test. Not only did her treatment reverse the problem and I returned to a normal period schedule, but she discovered the source of the problem which began at puberty. One of the symptoms is insulin resistance and I've struggled with my weight since puberty. Insulin resistance causes difficulty with weight loss and can bring on Type II diabetes. Thank God we caught it in time. I'm losing weight like crazy after her recommendation to a nutritionist who knows how to treat this part of the illness. She is incredibly competent and her staff was great! I highly recommend her.

    Molly Cowgill MD
I have been with her for a little over ten years. When you say her name, everybody knows her immediately and say she is the greatest. She saved my life. Molly is like world famous for being the best. I see her every June. That is my birthday present to myself. I go right on my birthday. I had an illness a little over then years ago, and I had been misdiagnosed several times. A friend of mine sent me to Molly. She quickly diagnosed me and I was in surgery a week later. It was a very serious situation. She is very good. She is one of the best surgeons around. When you go to Molly, she spends forty-five minutes with you and she takes extensive notes. She talks to you about everything. She is very holistic. You are never rushed. Usually when I go to her, I am the only patient there, and she spends as much time as you need. Her nurse Karen has been with her for as long as I have known her. Karen knows me when I walk in. It is just a real warm atmosphere.

    Weisel, Dr. Susan
I originally went to Dr. Weisel last fall, after looking for a new gynecologist here on Angie's List last year. My first visit went well. Dr. Weisel was on time and talked with me about my general health and any specific issues and concerns I had. She gave me a thorough examination and had me schedule some tests to follow up on a couple of things. After my tests, she spoke to me the same day to discuss the results with me and next steps I should take. I went to her again in February for an issue I was having, and she again saw me very promptly, gave me a thorough exam, and answered all my questions. In April, I had a follow-up test, and again, I was contacted later that day with the results. Dr. Weisel is very conscientious and I'm very happy with the care I receive in her office.

    Vermont Gynecology
Everyone here is friendly and competent - the medical assistants, office staff, physicians - everyone treated me with respect, kindness, and did their job well. I found the office to be calming and clean - no scuffed walls, no equipment broken or grimy looking - it's the kind of place you'd want to go... then send your mom, sister, and best friend there. I recommend strongly without reservation.
