    They came out to look at the water softener. They told me the motherboard went out and the valve was broken.The water softener was installed in April of 2009. They told me they could replace it for $3200. I said that was unnecessary since it was just two years old and they could get the parts. I brought up the manufacturer's warranty, and they said that they would look into that. I called the manufacturer and they said there would be no charge for parts and all Go Green would have to install the new parts. Go Green said they would charge me a prorated amount, when the manufacturer told me no charge. They told me they would get back to me. They offered me $2600 for a new water softener, which I did not want. They told me it would cost $1050 to take out the old parts and install the new parts. They told me they worked by jobs and that it would take 8 hours. I told them no thanks. I called the manufacturer who said it was outrageous to take that long. I had my neighbor do the job, and it took him 8 minutes. I sent the parts to the manufacturer, and they sent me the replacement parts. My neighbor installed them in 10 minutes. I think they are just out for your money. I think they are not honest and I would not recommend them to anybody.

    I had my bathroom partially remodeled by Sears Home Pro in December 2017. So far it has given me nothing but grief and they are impossible to reach! I had my shower/tub combi changed into a walk-in shower, but the chrome top part of the sliding door came scratched. They promised to replace or fix it, then went silent. Follow this by mold in the caulking at the shower basin bottom (and NOT I can assure you for lack of cleaning, because I'm that crazy person who wipes down the shower after every use). It is so deep in there I haven't been able to remove it. The caulking around the drain is lose and also has mold. And the caulking where the shower surround meets the ceiling is already fully cracked. This is after 7 MONTHS of use, though the mold problem occurred within 3-4 months. So far I have tried to reach them for 3 months; zero response. DON'T USE THEM!

    American Home Shield – Home Warranty
    Terrible! Started in February 2017, several visits did not fix the problem. Ultimately, Cleveland Plumbing was assigned to diagnose the problem, which they did - I needed two new water closets - but home warrant would not authorize the work as they had authorized Superior Plumbing to do it ( I find out now). Superior plumbing could not be reached at that point by phone or meail after not showing for two appointments. I therefore asked Cleveland Plumbing to do the work - they did it professionally within one day, but I had to pay them myself as the warranty company would not authorize. Every time I called, the wait time to speak with someone was at least 45 minutes. Today, they called me to renew the contract. I said no and explained why, they said they would connect me with customer service - I was on hold for 64 minutes! Then the first customer service person put me on hold for another 32 minutes saying she would check with the authorization people. Another person came on the line and I had to explain the whole thing again - she didn't put me on hold but told me about not pating because of the other company being authorized - She would put me in for a casg payout for equipment costs only and says the cash-in-lieu department will call me between 24 - 48 hrs. I don't have much hope that that will happen, but I remain hopeful. I would not renew or sign an initial contract with this American Home Shield Company. The address on their renewal request envelope is Batavia, Il 60510 -not the address above. The insurance was originally paid for by the realty company for the previous owner who sold me this house in December, 2016 - two months before this problem started - and the toilets were not replaced until May, 2017 and I had to pay for the work myself.

    Weichert Home Protection
    This was part of the purchase price of our home, which was listed by Weichert Realty.  We were only given a receipt at the closing and did not see the contract, which stated that there "may be a deductible" until after the closing.  We were told by the Weichert realtor that all the appliances in the home would be covered but as it turn out we can't even have them looked at unless we pay $100 to get someone to the house to decide whether the problem is covered.  The fact that the previous owner bent the hinge on the refrigerator, for example, is not covered.  So far, nothing else seems to be.
