Door Installation reviews in Beacon

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • My doors were both original, 1940's style doors and very drafty. The back door was an odd size, so the opening has to be made a few inches larger. All the new trim work was made to match the existing house style. The installation was done quickly and efficiently, eliminating a major source of heat loss.

  • It went poorly on so many levels.
John had some delays due to an injury and he also had a bigger project going on at the same time as our small project. We had already paid our 50 percent deposit.
His estimator mis-measured and the gutter was 2 feet short and it took my husband's insistence that he finish it.
Two of the four storm doors he installed he did OK, but kind of on the sloppy side. He didn't measure properly. The handles are off. On the front door, it's not centered and on the side door, the handle is high. He said that it needed to be that high to clear the inside knob. But it was still higher than it needed to be.
The other 2 doors, he actually hung in the wrong doorways. My husband told him clearly and he said he understood. They were 2 very different doors, both in expense and in style. We reluctantly paid him. They need to get changed out but now the hinges and swing are wrong. He also said that he put them where he did because he thought our dog might damage the door. We never asked him to consider our dog's play style. It didn't even come up in conversation.
He said that he would able to do the work in mid-January and we've not heard from him and have been waiting a month.
Upon further reflection, he is so inattentive and lax in his professionalism that we don't trust him to finish.

  • It went Amazing! Ayren and his crew were polite, clean, punctual and on budget. This was a messy job that lasted several months but they left me with a clean house at the end of every work day. I could not be happier with the results and get compliments all the time. They paid attention to detail and did not leave until the job was done.

  • Everything went smoothly aside from two small snags. The first electrician brought in, dragged his feet a little bit but once Jason Bell was brought in to replace him, everything electrical went quick and painlessly. The other snag was the bank releasing funds. Every time a payment was due it took longer than expected to go through. Aside from that, Derek answered every phone call, text message and email. He met with us around our schedules. His crew was great. Every one of them courteous, hardworking, and just all around nice guys. Derek worked within our budget and was completely honest with what we could afford and what we couldn't. The work that he and his crew accomplished in our home is beautiful. This house was a very large project to accomplish and remodeling concepts did it afficently. We could not be happier with our home.

  • Repair was smooth and quick, so quick I questioned whether I really received my "included tune up", the repair was effective, no further trouble 1 1/4 years later. But, the serviceman, we had made me uncomfortable, asked about my 3 year old daughter in a way that was intrusive, strange and inappropriate. I would use them again as I have no other in mind, but I would make sure a different person came out on the call. The replacement photocell was a used part he had on his truck, he said "they did not make them any more" and seemed expectant of something - gratitude or tip ?? When he told me so (in an obsequious manner) was creepy and too familiar.

  • Simply give them a phone call, set up an appointment.  They are always punctual.  If your appointment is 7:30, they're there at 7:25.  They clean up after their work.  And the materials that they use are excellent.  My windows work beautifully.  They fold out to clean.  The door is working beautifully.  I have absolutely no complaints.

  • My experience with them was mostly positive. The problem was not with Lowe's since they were fine. My front door is only 31.5 on the old part of the house because I live in an old house. It was a problem to get the door to fit without spending an exorbitant amount of money to have one made. The door is a Larson door and I have the same door on the 31.5 and on the 36. The door itself has some inherent problems with the hardware. It wasn’t a cheap door. So, it was a problem with the door than Lowe's. In fact, the installer has come by and fixed it whenever I said anything about it. If I call them right now, he will come and fix the door knob for me for free again. So, it has been wonderful for that. I spent $950 for the door and it was $97 to install each door. That was when they had a special offer and the doors were a little over $300 a piece after tax. The price was cheap. I had to have two installers. The first installer who came was kind of flaky. He came on a Sunday when I wasn’t even here. So, they couldn’t do the job. I went to the store and they promptly gave me another installer. I would use their services again. In fact, I am going to Lowe's today for tile since I am tiling my window sills in the garage.

  • I've had several visitors comment on how good the cabinets look.  They look perfect.  He's pretty much a perfectionist.  I think he is vastly under-valuing his work.  He's too cheap.

  • It was wonderful. One door on my building was not square and had some problems but the installer did an excellent job working out the problem. He didn’t charge me any extra and it is fantastic. He cleaned up his mess afterwards, he was careful not to scratch or chip anything, and he was extremely respectful. One of the latches was loose so I called him the next day, which was a Sunday, but he came right out and fixed it in five minutes. It was not at all what I expected. I don’t like paying the price but they were cheaper than anyone else.

  • There was a problem some months later with the locking mechanism which was not his fault at all, as I had chosen the component. He and his son came back repeatedly to fix the issue at no charge to me because he said he guarantees his work. He is very honest and not the least bit expensive. He gives great attention to detail and takes pride in his work.
