    Alteration Etc Inc
I needed alterations made on suit trousers so that I could wear my suit to an anniversary party within 6 days. She was cheerful and positive and had them finished the very next day! The trousers fit perfectly!! What else could you possibly expect?! I am very pleased to recommend her.

    Doc Otis Reupholstery & Repair
I recently bought a new leather coach. My 25+ year old leather pull out coach was still very usable, and my daughter needed one for occasional company. I thought it best, therefore, to have the old coach reupholstered before giving it to her. I shopped around for leather reupholstering services on Angie’s List, comparing prices and listening to recommendations. Representatives of various companies told me full leather reupholstering would be rather expensive. One recommended the use of a faux leather. Another, i.e., Doc Otis, recommended that I do just the cushions, as this part typically showed the most wear and tear. My daughter did not want fake leather under any conditions. When I inspected the coach, I saw that the cushions were, in fact, the part that most needed repair. We tentatively agreed upon a price for this service ($500) and Doc Otis came to my apartment to look at the coach. I found he very amiable and easy to work with. We both agreed that reupholstering the seat cushions was what was needed. He also stated that the arm cushions needed more stuffing, but he could do that later, i.e., the leather covering the arm cushions was not in bad condition. He then suggested that the sofa remain in my apartment and that he just take the leather covering off the seat cushions, so that I could still have the use of the coach while the job was being done. At that time I told him that I was purchasing a new coach and was planning of giving this coach to my daughter. Her coach was to be taken to my son’s apartment, and his coach taken to my mother’s, where he was later moving. Consequently, I preferred to have the coach removed and taken to my daughter’s. To my surprise, Doc Otis said that he would do the entire job, including moving the various coaches from one location to the other. I was flabbergasted! On the morning of the move, Doc Otis and his brother call bright and early. I was particularly worried about getting my coach out of my apartment door. It weighed a ton, as it contained heavy metal parts typically used to construct pull out coaches 25 years ago. With the help of his brother, Doc Otis literally removed the arms from the coach, so as to get it out the door. It was a five flight walk down to get the coach out the building. He and his brother took the coach to my daughter’s, where he left it, removing only the leather seat cover cushions. Her coach, he took to my son’s, and his coach was taken to my mother’s. Approximately a week and a half later the cushion covers were brought back. In that time, my daughter informed me that she felt the cushions were a little soft. I spoke to Doc Otis and he said that the foam could be wrapped to give them more firmness. He was intending to bring wrapping material for the arm cushions to make them a little plumper. When the job was done, i.e., the seat and arm cushions were wrapped and the covers put on, my daughter raved about how the coach looked. It took me several weeks to get by her apartment to see the finished product. I was amazed. The coach looked almost brand new. The leather he used was supple, the seat cushion felt more firm, yet soft. I slept on the coach that night. Amazingly, before, sleeping on top of the coach had usually resulted in a stiff neck and some lower back pain. This time, NO PAIN AT ALL!! The additional stuffing apparently did the trick. Doc Otis is a furniture repair and leather reupholstering MASTER! I love him!! Last but certainly not least, I found him to be one of the most courteous, professional and polite individuals that I have had the pleasure of meeting. For the reupholstering job (NOT including the moving), he charged me $500! I was more than pleased. HE IS THE BEST!

I needed new pants for my son hemmed for a funeral. She completed 3 pairs of pants in one day and it wasn't too expensive either.

    Michelle Elise
Michelle Elise provided quick and professional service. She repaired a pair of leg wrap bandages that I had been struggling with for several months. Now they work wonderfully. She charged a very reasonable price and accomplished the repair in a much shorter time than I had expected. I am very happy with her work.

The total was less than we thought ($34) we had some good options for payment (including a discount if we paid in cash at the time of placing the order). Ashley is a wonderful employee, making sure to take the time to put a sticker on every coffee stain from the church coffee hours that had made their way to the stole. She found stains that we had missed, and she explained the way the cleaning would work on the different fabrics when we asked. Our order was ready in plenty of time, and Ashley recognized us when we arrived in the parking lot, having our clothes ready to go as we walked in the door. We just found our new cleaners in Rhinebeck :-) Thanks, Scheer!

First I was presented with the options available and the pluses and minuses of each. After they helped me make a selection, they took the time to work with me to make sure the result would be just the way I needed it to be. The owner worked side by side with me at the computer to make sure the decals would have the right colors and the graphic would look great. When the decals came in, they were exactly right.

We brought in a jacket for a zipper replacement. Mario operates his shop out of his home; it looks to be in a converted garage. He is very pleasant and conversational. I asked for a heavy-duty metal zipper, and he agreed, so that is what we got. The work was performed on time and the cost was reasonable. The shop smells heavily of cigarette smoke, which, as non-smokers, we didn't care for, and upon picking up the jacket, we had to then bring it to the cleaners to get the smoke smell out. However, the work was done well and Mario seems to be a nice guy, so we would go back there again.

They were great. It took them a week to do the sweaters, and 3 to do the rug. I thought that was good.

I had been looking for a real tailor for quite a while. Many places claim to do alterations, but stop at simple hemming and buttons. I had purchased a suit over the internet and needed some substantial alterations to the jacket, vest, and pants. Mario had me try the pieces on and took some measurements and then had the pieces perfectly tailored within a few days. The quality of his stitching and matching of thread was perfect, it's impossible to determine where his work starts and the original garment ends. I was so pleased with the work that I went back with my father's overcoat that had seen better days on a much larger man than I. Mario reconstructed the shoulders and arms, repaired the lining, and the coat is as good as new, and fits me like a glove. Mario is now and quot;my tailorand quot; and his prices are reasonable enough to justify getting all of my new business shirts tailored.
