Very well. I found him on Angie's List a few years ago and now would not think of using anyone else. He's fair, honest & competent. Always does a good job with no surprises. I would highly recommend him for any appliance repair.

Had a new range delivered this morning and about a half hour after they left I noticed that the oven door didn't shut properly on one side. I called Sears and they said the soonest they can get a service rep here was a week. A week? It was delivered this morning and the oven is useless. This is probably why they are slowly going out of business. They seem to have no concept of customer satisfaction or customer service. There's a lot of competition out there. That was the last time I buy from Sears!

    JP Carpentry & Handyman Services
Jon evaluated the oven quickly, found the part on the repair clinic site, and came the day after it arrived to replace the igniter.
Quick, friendly, responsive, & easy to get ahold of.  Strongly recommend.

The install was a nightmare. It started off OK, although they were early which left my teenage son to let them in.
He took a look at the work space and said that the wiring from the previous unit was hard-wired and it would cost an extra 100.00 to fix it. My gut told me that it was excessive but we discussed it a bit. I had an electrician coming to the house a few days later. He explained that without the wiring in place, he could hang it but could not warranty the install. So I reluctantly paid the fee. This was a Sears installation so I had already paid $139.
The primary installer made the holes (very sloppy) in my upper cabinet, used the template for the support piece, He hung the microwave and tested it. It wasn't venting properly. He was getting ready to leave and said "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I told him that I wanted to fix it. He was angry and noisy about starting over. He said the problem was that the cabinets weren't level and the holes (which he created) weren't lining up, OR it was because of the tile (which we were planning to remove anyway.) I removed the tile while he removed an old stove which was decent of him for an extra $20. I stepped out of the room and when I returned, he said that the microwave was broken. The mounting bracket must have been "defective", which is what he told me to tell Sears. He removed the microwave to return it to Sears.
My electrician two days later informed me that the $100.00 job that the installer did was FRAUDULENT. He took the existing wires and put them into a plug end. It represented 1 minute of work and a 25 cent piece of equipment. He said that wiring would not only not passed inspection but it was dangerous.
A simple check with a level validated that the cabinets were plumb.
The "defective" nature of the mounting bracket was only revealed with excessive force.
An attorney friend suggested that I stop payment on the check since fraud was involved and that I should pay him for the stove removal which seemed a fare price.
Because he removed the microwave from my home, which is against Sears' protocol, an even exchange was not possible. So now I have a torn up cabinet, an empty wall, 4 days of stress trying to get it resolved and I need to start all over again.

    Christies Appliance Repair
Mr. Christie arrived exactly when he said he would. He was extremely courteous. He immediately started working on the oven door and fixed it in no time. His prices for fixing my oven were excellent. I will definitely be calling Mr. Christie in the future!

My clothes dryer had been squealing for a couple of months but A: I was afraid of what it would cost & B: I didn't know who to call. Saw an ad for Angie's List so I figured I'd bite the bullet, join, & find someone to call.
From here it gets simple. Yesterday afternoon I called the company with the most positive reviews.Made sense to me. I left a message including my description of the problem & the make & style of the machine. They called me this morning explaining that they had a $75 fee just for coming & if that was okay saying that they had a cancellation & could they come between 2 & 4 this afternoon.Great! He got here a few minutes after 2, told me it was probably one of three things, gave me the prices & took the dryer apart with my okay.
He vacuumed the inside of the dryer, found the problem was the Rear Bearing, had one in his truck, fixed it & was done in about  an hour.
The best part was the charge of only $160 with my senior discount which I didn't have to ask for. The repair man was friendly, knowledgeable & explained everything he did. I will certainly call them again for any appliance problem & am now thankful that I have someone reasonable & reliable to call.

    Sears Home Services
Sears has been around since I was growing up. I have been using them for probably more than twenty years. They always know how to fix problems for me even if you have older machines. They just know how to treat, people I think. I like the men they send out to service things too because they are respectful of me. They also are friendly to my cat and I like that.
