    BLUE RIBBON APPLIANCE REPAIR
We have a side-by-side Samsung refrigerator that we purchased in 2009. The refrigerator side was on longer cooling. We scheduled an appointment between 3 and 5 pm. At 5 Nadir called to say he was sorry to be late but it was a busy day and he was on his way. (This doesn't surprise me; it seems to be very difficult to get service on Long Island as all the businesses are very busy). I asked him when he expected to arrive. "Well", he said, "to be honest I am 45 miles away". He arrived at 5:45 and was finished his work about 1.5 hours later. He was able to immediately diagnose the problem. Apparently Samsung refrigerators have a tendency to accumulate ice around the fan and evaporate which eventually causes the fan to be completely blocked. He had to thaw out the fan and evaporator and then it worked fine. No parts necessary just labor. He even told us that if the problem occurs in the future just turn the refrigerator off for 3 days and it will fix itself. Nadir was very friendly and didn't seem to mind me peering over his shoulder. I highly recommend him and it appears I am not alone.

    One of A Kind Carpentry
Ronnie was so great to work with.  He's very personable and laid back while being careful to get the job done right.  He does a majority of the work himself so there was very little waiting around for subcontractors and as a result no scheduling conflicts.  There were a number of mistakes with the kitchen cabinets (not Ronnie's responsibility) but he was very gracious and patient and made what could have been a really difficult situation go so much better than it should have. I was able to trust One of a Kind with the project and on the rare occasion that we had differing opinions about something he was still courteous.  The client and I (I am an Interior Designer) were both very pleased with the project, from start to finish.

    MAHLER APPLIANCE SERVICE CORP
Owner Tracy was a pleasure to deal with.  Tech was out the next day and properly diagnosed the problem and ordered the part, a gas value assembly and was back two days later. Tech was neat, punctual and courteous.  Mark up on the part was on the high side, as this was the only negative.  I would use them again and would definitely recommend.

Called universe on phone cause of there reviews on Angie. nicer on phone than couple of others I called. Told person my refrig wasn't getting cold enough for days now. Set up appt for w/e just asked that I be called b4 coming that day cause had a lot to do that day. She said no problem. Well, no call ever came . I called them halfway thru window frame time and was told finishing up somewhere else and serviceman has notation to call prior. Never did. Showed up within window time lucky I was here. Serviceman looked, told me what probably happened and needed to shut down refrig for 24 hrs. He actually started to help me move food out of refrig but his attitude needed some refinement. My wife felt like he spoke to us like we were ignorant. He was a little sarcastic. Other than that, he was right on what was wrong and needed to be done. Took him less than 3 minutes to diagnose, but was there 15 minutes with mostly needless conversation. Charged the visit charge which I understood . One thing weird was he was told I had a dead refrigerator and this was urgent situation. He had special part ordered special for me. Never told anyone that. Must of got misinformed somewhere.

Each time that Phil visited he analyzed the problem and ordered the necessary part to repair the refrigerator. He returned at my convenience to complete the job. Each time resulted in satisfaction of a completed job.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! First off, I joined angies list because i had many bad experiences with companies. Until now, since joining angies list, i had nothing but great companies perform services in my home. I would definitely not recommend this company. I had them come to my house because my washer machine was leaving the clothes very wet after its cycle. I first thought it might have been the dryer and called them a month earlier to look at that. They changed the coil on the dryer(over $200) when they didnt even look to make sure the coil was bad they just assumed! i then called them back up to tell them my washer machine might be the problem because it leaves the clothes very wet and causes me to run the dryer for over a hour each load.  The repair guy was nice don't get me wrong but they removed the dial cap off the drain pump to see if there was any lint or coins it turned out there was only a few coins. He diidn't even check to make sure the hoses weren't clogged. He said it "might" be the drain pump and was going to cost $350 to changed it. The part only cost $150 and took a half hour at most to replace it. It didn't help it at all. I would have had to pay $350  and pay more for them keep checking and replacing parts until its fixed. By then i could buy a brand new machine. I was received a 30 day warranty for the $95 service charge fee. When i called them up to have them come back i told them you would have charged me $350 to replace a half hour labor job on a pump that was $150. I told them its not right that t i have to spend that kind of money and it not solving the problem and then i would have to keep paying money on "might" be solutions. Belts weren't checked, hoses weren't checked. After they left i started to inspect the machine myself and replacing the drain pump was the very first time i even worked on an appliance and was super easy. I, not them, found the hose to be caked up with g***.  I was so fed up i told them i no longer want them to come. How do you charge someone $95 to come look at the machine and thoroughly not look at it and assume it might be this or that.. Its not right.  When i went to buy the drain pump at an appliance store they said  charging $350 to change a drain pump is ridiculous. They couldn't believe they wanted that much. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

The company gave back the $98.00 but the bottom line is they probably wanted the review to say that the problem was resolved. The problem was not. It still cost a $150.00 for the drain pump that they also said could be the problem my son went to the appliance store and changed the pump. The problem still existed. I still wouldn't recommend them. They were so annoying after the review that they called 5 to 6 times. I have a phone log to prove it.

I call them on Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday between 11 and I believe 2. They called me a few hours later to ask if they could change the time to 8am. This was fine with me. On Friday, he showed up at exactly 8am. The gentleman looked at my washer and decided that I needed a new pump. He told me he could pick it up and come back that very day. He came back when he said he would and completed the job. I was very happy he was willing to come back at the end of the day to complete the job.

    TONY'S APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE
Rather than wait for me to have the frige, looked at, my Dad went through the local paper, called Tony's explained the problem. Tony's set up an appointment for the next day, arrived on time, looked things over, gave my dad an estimate. He decided to go ahead with the work, the repair was finished within the hour. It is two years later, it's still running, and keeping things cold. Pleased he did a good job for a fair price and didn't ry to take advantage of an elderly person.
