    MIKE FLEMING HOME IMPROVEMENT
This is the second time we have had work done and would recommend them to everyone. We worked together on the design and budget. Mike again offered ideas to improve on our design from a construction perspective..they work every day until the job is done with no delay. They started it on time and finished when planned.

    Tim Allen Co.
We hired Tim Allen Co. spring of 2011 to build an addition to the back of our house.  This addition included a new kitchen and office area, and total new roof.
Mr Allen began working in July of 2011 and was not finished until October.  He and/or his workers would be here for a day or two then not return for several days in order to work on another project.  Often, he would have his young elementary age sons with him and even helping him on the roof.  During the initial demolition, they failed to properly cover the framed new roof and when it rained, water came pouring into the existing house warping the floor.  Tim Allen said it would dry and was not concerned.  The project was not finished until October of 2011 and we remained in contact due to the buckling of the kitchen floor.  Through our own research, we discovered that a kitchen island and new kitchen cabinets should not be installed on top of a floating laminate floor.  This was brought to Mr. Allen's attention and he agreed he would replace the damaged area of the floor, although phone calls to him went unanswered.
Then, during the next winter we discovered that water was dripping from a beam in the basement and shortly after, discovered that the water was leaking in the kitchen from where the new addition connected to the original house.  Mr. Allen came out and patched the roof, told us not to touch the drywall in the kitchen to let it dry.  He said he would come back after the winter and make the necessary repairs to the roof and the interior walls.  Last spring we began calling Mr. Allen to schedule him returning to fix the roof, the interior water damage and the buckling kitchen floor.  He did not return our calls.
We have contacted an attorney and after two letters were sent to Mr. Allen, he now assumes no responsibility for the damages.
I strongly discourage anyone from hiring Mr. Allen....he has our money and we have been left with a leaky roof, interior water damage, and a buckled kitchen floor.  He has acted in an extremely unprofessional manner.

    Kathy Kotz Home Builder Inc
It took a month as quoted. Prior to the job starting, Kathy took me shopping for all materials, her suggestions were extremely helpful. Once the job started, Kathy scheduled all the contractors (demo/plumber/carpenter, tile installer and painter), checking with them daily as to the progress, stopping by the job at least 3 times a week and keeping me informed as to who was coming when, including all delivery of materials. All contractors were very professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. I was very comfortable leaving my home while these contractors were working. Kathy was always reachable and I really appreciated all of the time she spent with me. I couldn't be happier with the results.

I am going with someone else but they were very professional and they knew what they were doing. They were highly recommended by some other people. They were very credible and a highly regarded remodeling company. Their proposal was very nice and well done. They have written a professional email for me. They visited the house all over and their proposal was very complete. I did not select them to be my final renovator but as far as being a candidate to choose from, they were good. They did a very nice job.

    Buza Construction of CNY Inc
Installers showed up on date and time promised and immediately began setting up for installation. Old aluminum siding and trim was removed, new insulation board installed and new siding and trim installed over the insulation board. Installers were efficient and very knowledgeable about the particular work and made extremely good progress. Project was finished in very short order and we were completely satisfied with the finished project. We did call the installer back due to a problem with the metal wrap on two front columns which was being eaten away by the preservative in the pressure treated posts. They removed the deteriorating wrap and installed new facing material on the pressure treated posts before re-wrapping them with the metal trim. To date, the repair seems to be complete and no signs of the previous erosion of material has been noticed.

    PARDEE HOMES
When we were in town to purchase the house we met with Diana Salas in the Design Studio to pick out the various options for the house.  She was wonderful.
We went to a ware house and got to select our own piece of granite for the kitchen countertops.
We went to DelGrosso Floors and selected our flooring.
After we returned to NY we rec'd answers to the questions we'd asked of the various parties.  They didn't forget about us because we'd left town ... and that spoke volumes to us about their service and their character/professionalism.
Several problems arose during the building process.  In each case, someone from Pardee Homes called us and told us about the problems.  They didn't try to hide things or sneak anything through on us.  That was impressive.  Let's face it, during a major cross country move we're busy taking care of 1001 details ... chances are we wouldn't have noticed if one electrical outlet was missing ... but they called and took responsibility for their mistakes.  In each and every case they went above and beyond to make things right for us.  Just as an example ... we purchased the optional RV parking pad and it came with concrete paths for the RV to drive on, from the street to the parking pad.  They goofed and used paving stones instead of concrete ... we hadn't wanted that option, but they left it there anyway at no charge to us.  In another instance, we had paid for two electrical outlets in the great room floor ... they only installed one, so they refunded the cost of that option.  A small cost item, yet they handled the error openly and honestly.  What else could you possible ask for?
"Ethical" and "professional" are good words to describe the front-line employees at Pardee Homes.  Truth be told, these people could not do their daily jobs this way without the support of the management team at Pardee Homes ... corporate culture and corporate priorities flow from the top down.  I didn't deal with anyone on that level, but their employees' conduct definitely reflects well upon the managers, higher-ups and corporation in general.  Most companies have a written mission statement ... but I don't need to read the one for Pardee Homes, I've seen it in action.  I'm impressed.

    Capital Home Construction LLC
We used Capital in the past to replace the roof.  We selected with them for the renovation of our home. They provided the subcontractors for all the services we needed done.  I can highly recommend them.

    SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION
We bought the lot in March. Dave helped finalize our plans with an architect, obtained the necessary permits, positioned the house on the lot and started digging the basement in mid July. Our children were buying our other house and we were under pressure to get them into it as soon as possible. Dave said he couldn't promise but would try to have us in our new home for Thanksgiving dinner...and we were. Dave worked closely with us on all facets of the build. He was here from dawn to dusk every day and sometimes even during the night if he was having trouble sleeping. He said he'd stay right with it...and he did. He is a man of his word and a good solid contractor. His employees also were nice to work with and very reliable. We had very few problems and Dave worked out every one to our satisfaction. If we had to do it over, there is very little we would change and most of that is cosmetic. We would call Dave again should the need arise. He's an honest and ethical guy!
